Oh my goodness...I'm so glad my friend told me to watch your videos.....I enjoyed every minute and will be binge watching all the back videos and the newer ones. I am a new fan!
Hi Ann, Welcome to my channel and thank you for such kind comments. That's lots to catch up on! Hope that you find something useful in all of my ramblings. Happy stitching (and watching). Suzette x
Awe Heidi thanks, you are so sweet!! Wouldn't that be awesome...we could have so much stitching, crafting fun!! Hope all is well and you are enjoying your summer. Suzette x
Thanks for showing us some of your favorite cross stitch tools, Suzette. I enjoyed seeing them. Also I love your patriotic vignette behind you. So cute! Pam in Alabama
Thank you so much for all your favorite things. Some I have and some I have to have 😁 Would love to see all your frames and stands too. I'm so happy to see your videos. Love everyone of them.
Thank you so much for your tutorials. I found you through Farm Girl. So glad she suggested paying your channel a visit. Just learning how you mark with pins is great. Seeing you do the loop method on top and pull it to the back was an "aha" moment for me. I've been looping on the back. Your method is more efficient. What I would be interested in seeing is how stitchers keep track of where they are on the chart. I usually stitch horizontally. Priscilla suggests taking a photo of the chart and using the I-pad to follow it. I take a rubber band and place it around the I-pad and then move the rubber band as I travel down the chart. The rubber band works but I'm going to make a removable strap out of binding which will slide easier down the I-pad. If you know of anyone who demonstrates how they follow the stitches on the chart please share with me. Once again, thanks so much for taking the time to share with us. Seeing some of the products you use is also very helpful.
I'm behind on flosstube so I just watched this! Thank you so much for showing how to do the counting pins! I love the tool videos and can't wait to see the hoops and stands you use! I need to go order that light right now 😊
Thanks for visiting Elizabeth and for you kind comments! I'm really trying to convince my son to help me film a video about my hoops, frames and stands. I really do love that light and am considering ordering another one as a back up. Happy stitching, Suzette x
I love your videos. I'm embarrassed to even tell you this, when I was watching the counting tutorial I have never thought about putting the thread though the loop on the top side of my fabric when starting a new thread then pulling to the back side :) of the fabric. Thanks!
I love listening to you and my goodness - all those goodies. I put the magnetic needle cases to my shopping list. That is brilliant! I also have never figured out how to count and now have a spot motif I am working on., This was really helpful and I appreciate you taking the time to share and teach! Thanks so much!
Suzette, your tip to get Mack's silicone ear protection is great. I got the generic brand from Walmart and they work! I couldn't get the contact lens cases there because they were out but found similar ones at Target. Thank you, thank you from Colorful Colorado.
Thank you so much!!! I do exactly the same as you with floss away bags. No bobbins for me. Use other items as well but see some I would like to have. Really enjoy your videos.
Thank you for showing how to use counting pins. I have gridded but I wanted to find something qicker...the pins. I couldn't fing anything online that explained clearly how to use them. You showed n explained it clearly. Thank you! I love your other tips n tools, too. Very helpful.
Thanks for showing your tools. I am trying all the different magnification tools, but I haven't tried the mag eyes yet. Fingers crossed, maybe they will be my favorite.
Hi Dianne, thanks for stopping by for a visit! The technique was actually the loop method. (I ended up doing a separate video on this) It can be used on Aida or linen. Happy stitching, Suzette x
Thanks for the video. I would have never thought of the ear plugs to tame thread. Your idea of the contact lens case was great. I don't treat thread very often but I am going to put this in my bags for the instances when I do. I love the S. Thomas and Sons needles. I was introduced to them years ago by a woman who had one of the first online sites. I use the 28 tapestry needles and I have some 26. I don't seem them on any site. I purchased some when they announced the production was moving to China. I know it was irrational but I thought the quality would change. They have a blunt end which would seem counter intuitive for high count linen but since they don't have a sharp point they just slide through the opening and don't catch the fabric or other stitches. I have a new tool which I am sure others have discovered but it is new to me. My daughter's 7 years of private flute lessons finally paid off. She gave me her metal music stand the last time I visited her and it is perfect for holding my chart. To secure them I use the clover clips and the chart stays in place. I have never used a needle minder but now I can attach one to the stand.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit Edna and for your kind comments! I can't seem to live without the S Thomas and Sons needles. They are the very best that I have found. Love the music stand idea...now to find one at a good price. Happy stitching, Suzette
Thank you for this video. It's always so helpful for stitchers to share their favorite things. I've already ordered the markers and that Snag Nab It tool is wonderful! I purchased it a couple of months ago. I really enjoyed how you use your counting pins. Your way is a lot easier than the way I have been using them...LOL! Thanks again!
Hi Suzette, what a great video thank you. I love the info on the counting pins, definitely going to get some. I look forward to a stitch with you video 👍💚. Happy stitching.
Thanks for another great video.I also use mag eyes, and several other of the tools you showed.I use the flower pins for counting, nice and thin, colorful, making them easy to see.The little box that some of our meds come in,also make nice needle holders, just add some glue to a flat piece of magnet, put it in the box, remove your info from the box,and there you have it,a magnetic box that didn't cost you anything extra, and you can decorate it as well if that strikes your fancy. We're limited only by our imagination!!!
Thank you so much for this video Suzette! As a new cross stitcher this was a huge help!! will definitely be purchasing some counting pins as well as floss bags...great ideas...can't wait until your next one....take care
Great to see your fav tools, you can still get the prym needle holder it comes under quilting needles try adding that to your area it may come up..hope this helps happy stitching xx
Thanks so much for the tip on that needle holder. I had totally forgotten that when I bought it that it had quilting needles in it! My brain is getting old!!! Stitchy love to you! Suzette x
What a wonderful video Suzette! I use several of those tools too, but not all. And I really appreciate the counting pins tutorial. I had no idea how they were used but that works beautifully and I’ll be trying that technique. Blessings, Marlene
Spending time 🐕with you is always a pleasure....thank you for information on your stitching tools... love to hear about the farmed you us. I have s d to stitch Needlepoint only, & Crewel work, but for the last 35yrs it’s Xstitch. I have a chronic bursitis in my left arm. Since I stitch in had it’s become more difficult... can’t afford an elaborate standing frame, but lap frame sound interesting. Orthopedic Dr says give up Embroidery for a few months😝.... !! What ...I let him know that wasn’t happening...😃 He laughed .... anyway look forward d to any suggestions or videos you’ll be sharing...💛🎶🎼🐝🐕😘💛
Thank you for the S, Thomas & Sons needle recommendation! I plan to start a 46 count project soon and was wondering about what needle to use. Always enjoy your videos! Kindest Regards, Robin
Another great video☺. Thank you sew much, I had the same worries as you regarding the highlighters. I wasn't even aware that you could get these (dah) Have now ordered some from eBay☺. Again thanks , happy stitching until the next time. Take care
Thank you Suzette for sharing some of your favorite tools :) I've been using a clip-on Ott magnifier light (it's not very big) but am not that happy with it so I think I will be investing in the MagEyes, especially since they are lightweight. If you happen to remember, next time you do an update, could you do a quick showing of your patriotic decor behind you? Thank you :) Laura
Hi Laura, thank you for such sweet comments! I think you will find a huge difference with the MayEyes. I will for sure show my patriotic decor in my June update video. Thank you for asking. :) Happy stitching, Suzette x
Awe....thank you for such sweet comments!! I think you might be referring to the walnut ink crystals that I use. They are called Walnut Ink Crystals and are by the Tsukineko company. I always like spending time with you. You could talk about socks, and I'd watch. Please talk about socks. :D Always fun to see what everyone uses while they stitch. I am not a "tool" person -- I use a needle and a scissors, pretty much. And as far as counting...I just make mistakes sometimes and WORK IT IN!!! :D HA HA! Have a great weekend, sweetie. - T
Bring 'em on! We could have a sock-off. I have my favorites: Abraham Lincoln (two pair), fried eggs, "Dang it all to heck" socks, and lots of cat socks.... - T
Hi Nancy, I store my DMC collection in the top drawers of the file cabinet that is behind me in my video. For my over dyed floss I use cardboard/chipboard boxes that I purchased from IKEA. Hope this helps. Suzette
I love your patriotic display on your cabinet. It looks great! What was this cabinet originally? I love all the drawers and drawer pulls. Another great video. Thanks
Thanks for stopping by Marva and for your kind comments! The cabinet was originally used in an attorney's office. It's one of my favorite furniture pieces that I feel like I can't live without. Happy stitching, Suzette x
Great video I use a lot of the same things but nice to see them all. I have a question the needle case you keep the snag nabbit in is it the same as the other needle cases ? I really need to keep mine in one.I'm afraid like you of losing it.Thanks. Take care..........
Hi MaryJo, thanks for the visit and the sweet comments. Yes, the needlecase that I keep the snag nab it in is the one by Dritz. I bought those at JoAnns. Hope this helps. Happy stitching, Suzette x
That is Brilliant for the snag nabbit ( I don't even know if I spelled that right) they are so skinny and tiny those will work wonderful! Brilliant you are. I found the flossaway bags on Amazon free shipping.I'm going to use this for my " fancy floss" I use zip lock snack but those will be much better.
I really hope you can get your son to help you film. I would love to see how you get set up to stitch and then watch you for a few minutes. I have trouble getting my stichy spot just right. I was not able to read the brand name on the dry highlighters. Your videos are wonderful.
HI Carolyn, thanks for stopping by for a visit and for your kind comments! The dry highlighters are Koh-I-Noor. I found them on Amazon but I've heard that some Hobby Lobby stores carry them as well. Hope this helps. Suzette x
Hi Suzette ~ I went to Amy's website today to check out the needles you had recommended for 40 ct. and higher fabric, however, the only size I saw was size 10...Is this the size you use? Thx
Thanks for stopping by for a visit Kathy. Yes, size 10 is my favorite in the S Thomas needles. I do sometimes use the 12s. Sorry that I forgot to mention that. Hope this helps. Suzette x
Hi Lois, thanks for stopping by for a visit. I keep my DMC bags in the file cabinet that you see behind me in my video. I also keep my over dyed floss in the bags that are then housed in cardboard boxes that I purchased from IKEA. I've also seen others keep them in the plastic shoe boxes that you can purchase from a variety of places. Hope this helps. Happy stitching, Suzette x
Not a stupid question at all! I have worn them with my glasses that are transition lenses ( I think that's the same as bifocals) I haven't had any problem using them with the Mag Eyes. Hope this helps, Suzette x
I cant get my pencils at hobby lobby amymore...lol. will look on amazon whem my current ones are done. I am now searching for thise shaky needle cases 😮😮
Thanks for stopping by for a visit Megan! If you couldn't tell, I LOVE those pencils and think of you every time I use them! Best recommendation ever! So happy to be the enabler this time :) Not sure if I've ever mentioned this in any of my videos but you were the very first FlossTuber I watched. Five years later I still get excited when I see a new one from you pop into my feed. So many of the originals have stopped making videos so THANK YOU for continuing to share your love of this craft with us! Happy stitching, Suzette x
I always wondered about counting pins ..... now I know! One more thing ..... towards the end of your video when you brought the needle up through the fabric to make a stitch, how in the world did you anchor the thread? I've replayed the video over and over. It appears you have a loop ?? and then went back down into the fabric? I just don't get it. Could you perhaps explain in your next floss tube. Thanks so much.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit Myra. I'd be happy to include how I started my thread in my next video. I'll make sure to do a close up of it. Happy stitching, Suzette
They are silicone, the exact thing that Thread Heaven is minus the sparkly bits in Thread Heaven. It conditions your thread. Hope this helps. Suzette x

Thank you I need counting pins-great idea! Cindy
You are one of my top ten favorite Floss Tubers. What was the name of the fabric dye you use? Need to order some asap. Thank you
Awe....thank you for such sweet comments!! I think you might be referring to the walnut ink crystals that I use. They are called Walnut Ink Crystals and are by the Tsukineko company. They are available at Joann's online under the Paper Crafting|Stamping| Stamp Pads & Inks section. They are on sale now for $5.99 regular price is $9.99. I have also used Rit Dye, instant coffee and tea bags. The best thing about the Walnut Ink Crystals are that they are acid free. I hope this helps! Happy stitching, Suzette

Thanks for an informative video. I may have missed it, but how do you store your floss bags? Not for a project, but your whole collection.
Hi Nancy, I store my DMC collection in the top drawers of the file cabinet that is behind me in my video. For my over dyed floss I use cardboard/chipboard boxes that I purchased from IKEA. Hope this helps. Suzette
Thanks for the tool show and tell

Suzette x
Thank you for the information.
Very informative! Thank you for sharing!
Suzette x
Contact case, brilliant!
Thank you!
Great video! Thank you!
Thanks for the informative video. I’m a gadget person so I live see others tools.
How do you store all your Floss a Way bags?
Hi Lois, thanks for stopping by for a visit. I keep my DMC bags in the file cabinet that you see behind me in my video. I also keep my over dyed floss in the bags that are then housed in cardboard boxes that I purchased from IKEA. I've also seen others keep them in the plastic shoe boxes that you can purchase from a variety of places. Hope this helps. Happy stitching, Suzette x
I know this is a stupid question but can i wear the mag eyes with my glasses that have bifocals?
Not a stupid question at all! I have worn them with my glasses that are transition lenses ( I think that's the same as bifocals) I haven't had any problem using them with the Mag Eyes. Hope this helps, Suzette x
Primitive Stitcher well i cant see to stitch with my bifocals. And i so want to do cross stitch. Thank you kindly.
Yes,i wore tri focals and used mag eyes.I now just wear bifocals, and still use them.
What is the name of that light? Thank you.
Hi Lynn, it's called the Ottlite LED Cone Clip Lamp. I purchased mine at JoAnns but I know they are sold by Amazon as well. Hope this helps. Suzette
I cant get my pencils at hobby lobby amymore...lol. will look on amazon whem my current ones are done. I am now searching for thise shaky needle cases 😮😮

A tool you may like to research is by Big Toe Designs. It’s called a thread hopper.
Thanks for the great tool tip Jeanne! Those look like a neat little tool. Could possibly be fairly easy to make myself. Happy Stitching, Suzette
I always wondered about counting pins ..... now I know! One more thing ..... towards the end of your video when you brought the needle up through the fabric to make a stitch, how in the world did you anchor the thread? How do the ear plugs work on the floss, instead of wax?
They are silicone, the exact thing that Thread Heaven is minus the sparkly bits in Thread Heaven. It conditions your thread. Hope this helps. Suzette x
