- I found some really cool mementos from one of my favorite beaches that was ravished by Hurricane Ian. It was very sad to see, but I was able to help clean up a lot of debris and junk from the total destruction of Hurricane Ian.
With my late comment, I am going to say everything is beautiful again. Or close. TIME IS THE GREATEST PROBLEM SOLVER!!! And I just subscribed to your channel. I lived in Fla. for 53 yrs. I now live in landlocked Tenn. And I miss the beaches everyday. Now I vacation in Fla. how ironic. Keep doing your good karma returns. Peace!!
Thank you very much! There is still a TON of damage in Fort Myers. It will be a long time before things look normal again. Sadly, the vibes that Fort Myers Beach had will be gone forever. There was too much lost :(
Damn. Thank you for shoung the devistation. Up here just north of Tampa, we barely got a sprinkle.
We were really lucky in Sarasota. Just some downed trees and debris at my house
So sad. thank goodness repairs can be made. The dolphin 🐬 bottle openers are so adorable. Very cute finds. You guys are so amazing. Take care & be safe out there. 💙💙🫶🫶 the $100. Dollar bill thing is so cute. I’m thinking it’s a charm.
Love the hundred $ bill. The shrinking dollar.😂
Haha! Such a strange find!!!! Thanks for watching!
Yes it is sad to see such a beautiful beach look the way it does after such a bad storm. I live near Galveston Texas and have seen what the hurricanes can do to the beach towns.
Music to this video is beautiful
Unbelievable how devastated the area is. So sad.
Three bottle openers the same!. Cool finds.
Very nice bottle openers who would have thought that?
Nice video, I like the bottle openers. Wishing you all the best.
Wow, what an eye opener 😢 hope you stayed safe during Ian. Very sad to see such devastation
I did! Thank you! We were very fortunate to have minimal damage where I live!
Drove through in January, OMG. I hope they plan the reconstruction well. They have a clean canvas to work with now.
Its so sad to see. I've been back a bunch of times since this video, and they're making a lot of progress!
Aww that was so special finding all of those bottle openers from the Pier store. It’s so sad to see all the destruction though! I love to metal detect too but I’m not in tune with the sound pitches like you are! Lol
It was very special to find mementos from what FMB was. I go back there every couple of months, and it won't ever be the same again. So sad!!
Sad to see the beach like that. My brother has a condo in Cape Coral. It had some flooding, but is being repaired. We used to take the boat to just south of the pier on the beach & spend the day. There was a restaurant right there I loved. Can’t remember the name, but it’s gone. So, heartbreaking.
Cool hunt. I love how you shared with the little boy… did you add those into your total count? & the bottle openers are definitely a cool thing.
Be careful, stay out of that water!! Don’t need any bacteria eating your flesh!! 😂
It was heartbreaking to see so many places that I've come to love seize to exist. I didn't add those to the total count haha! He was so happy following me around!!
One of my favorite beaches have found many pieces of gold there,I never dig coins on the beach ,I only dig sounds I believe to be gold,I will get a nickle now and then, and occasionally I will get stuck with a coin, the beach is the only place I hunt this way,I found I could cover 3 times as much ground ,and I can get enough coin digging else where (70 cases of flesh eating and 14 deaths in Fl. this year keep those shoes on and stay out of the water) breaks my hart because the water is about the only place I hunt ,but I have been following the tides in and out and still doing about as good KEEP ON DIGGIN!!!!!!!!
What machine do you use, Eileen? May I ask which VDI numbers you dig?
Update. I read about The flesh eating bacteria. That’s why people are staying out of the water.
You say keep those shoes on & stay out of the water. Would you please explain?
I’m in Upstate NY.
Its no joke! There were families with small children in the water. You'd think that they'd question why nobody else was getting in!
@@DetectFlorida I’m surprised no one told them. Maybe they didn’t hear, like me.
Those bottle openers are great and a fine way to remember your old stomping grounds..it don't get any better unless its gold coins...
That’s tough to see what has happened. Great video! Thanks.
So incredibly sad, but at the same time, you see how strong the community is there. So many people came together to help!
I live about 90 miles from you I might come down that way someday to help clean those beaches.
It's going to take a lot of effort to clean up that beach. There's targets EVERYWHERE
@@DetectFlorida I call that a good day of practice for me
I have a Vanquish 540 and a Equinox 700 on the way and when I get it I will have two machines to use hunting
That hammered coin is valuable even with the hole in it. Back in the day, they would put their coins on a string so that they wouldn’t lose them so holes in coins aren’t unusual. Or could have also been used as a necklace once the US stopped accepting foreign coins as currency in the early 1800s.
We live 4 mi from FMB. We are STILL rebuilding / repairing from Ian. Won't detect there because we couldn't bear finding the remnants of someone's business or heirlooms of those who lost so much more than we did.😞
Its sooo so sad. We've pulled out piles and piles of debris and trash. It wont be clean for a very long time
But that wasn't your intention. You are a sad pathetic person. @@DetectFlorida
Finding heirlooms could mean getting them back to owners.
finding lost things is what we do. How much time must pass before it’s ok to search for them?
Incredibly sad to see the devastation.... Stay safe and happy digging!
Thanks Ally! Pictures don't do justice. Its so sad!!!
great show as always, its sad to see what happened to Fort Myers but good to share the story. I hope that red tide clears up for you soon, take care!
Thank you!!! My fingers are crossed! I haven't been in the water in way too long
Heartbreaking to see what happened I lived in Ft Myers when I was a kid. Late 60s Early 70s .
Great video and music shaun
That is very sad indeed. And so is the red tide situation in Sarasota 😢
Man that breaks my heart to see the destruction..
My heart and prayers are with those folks who have been affected. Killing me to not be down there detecting with you.
Same! It's so sad to see :(
I enjoy watching your videos! I'm guessing 25540 , I would love to win the vanquish!
Thank you!!! Good luck!!!
Entered the limbo contest there in 91.
We've had our fair share of hurricanes here in the Panhandle. Always sad to see the destruction they cause. Those bottle openers are awesome 👍👍
Yeah. I was really surprised at how many buildings were completely gone. It'll never feel the same again when I go there
No hunt is a bad hunt, diggin the bottle openers
Good to see your dad hanging out and digging for treasure with ya.
Thanks! We always have a great time!
looks like the hurricane wrecked the place. sad. be out this weekend. have a good day.
I used to live right next door to Lani Kai.
It's sad to see the extent of the storm damage and my thoughts go to the community who i am sure have suffered both personal and financial loss. I did however enjoy your video especially as you have an Excal 2 which was my first real beach detector and to this day remains my favourite. My one is in need of a service and o ring replacement which i will do next year. Are those Tony Eisenhower headphones ? I have a pair too. Happy Hunting Jason
Thank you very much! The excal is really tough to beat in saltwater. Once you learn the language, it's a really enjoyable machine! Yes, those are Tony's headphones. Great audio quality through them, even underwater
“I like to find stuff too.” (Hint, hint). Get outta here, ya knuckleheads.😁 Great finds after that devastating hurricane. 👍
Guess that s where the display stands landed..😂😂
My son lives in SW Cape Coral. I was so scared for him and his wife.
My husband proposed to me there, at Times Square Ft Myers Beach. 😢 None of us has been back to FMB since. My heart still breaks.
Its still a disaster down there. Whenever I see it, I get this terrible feeling deep inside. It's like a part of me is gone :(
I love that area. How did the Pink Shell do??? I see Coconut Jacks opened back up down by Estero
I'm not sure. I didn't make it that far up the beach. There are a couple of businesses open, but the buildings themselves were totally destroyed. The Yucatan was open, but it was outside seating only. Their "kitchen" consists of a smoker and a grill outside
The pink shell is gone
The bottle openers are cool. Are they recent or antiques?
I love Florida souvenirs!
They're recent. They're from the gift shop on the pier that was washed away in the storm
@@DetectFlorida ah. It’s sad about that being washed away. It’s sad about the whole storm
Like my friend!)
Thank you!!!
Strange question.. where did you get your beach shoes/ boots? .. I need a pair for my husband badly..can't find any that go above ankle to add even a small amount of ankle support for him. He was born with severe club feet and they were completely turned around..had had 8 reconstructive surgeries and need find him something like I noticed you were wearing... Thanks !!
I order them online as no local retail stores carry them. They're called Mares Trilastic boots. Its like a dive boot/sneaker. Very comfortable, keeps the sand and shells out, and protects your feet. Almost all of my detecting buddies wear those ones. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for!
@@DetectFlorida thank you.. found online as you said..and ordered😁
so sad seeing all that destruction
Hey friend, what kind of machine are you using? Thanks for the video.
I'm using a Minelab Excalibur 2. Thanks for watching!
i walked through the lani kai just about a year ago :(.. awesome video though bud.. where was Bruno? :P
It's so wild to see. Everywhere you look is just total devastation. Bruno flew out of state to go to his new job
Where did you live on FMB? I was there 2011-14 and lived on Palmetto and also Mango streets.
I lived just over the bridge. Not far from the mini golf courses😆
That's too bad about the destruction ! What Realtors have been saying this for 50 years ? Location location location !!!
What type locator are you using?
I was using a Minelab Excalibur 2 in this video
If no pull tabs - probably been worked?
Its gonna take years to clean all the debris out of the water. Its crazy
Humans are capable of building with much higher degree of resilience.
😢❤
You need to sell t-shirts that say “Freakin’ Pull-Tab”. If you know you know friends.

Muy buen video Amigo aquí te dejo mi 👍 y me suscribo saludos desde Chicago.
😳😳😳
You may think it is sad, but it will be rebuilt and look better than ever. Go visit Kingston NY, the British burned it down in 1775 and it still looks like shit.
Its been a couple of years, and sadly Fort Myers Beach is still a mess :( The devastation was shocking to see in person!
Beach tax collector 😅
🙄
Why not help with hurricane efforts instead of finding peoples lost posessions?
We removed piles and piles of trash and debris. After this video, I returned 3 more times that month to continue cleaning up the beach
@DetectFlorida If that's true, than I take back what I said. It's the marketing side in me, I would have mentioned that in the video or possibly said that in a separate video. Here it just looks like you were taking advantage of the storm and the people. Good on you man.
@@njd4291 it’s all good. I have hours of footage of me finding trash. I figured that people would get bored pretty quick watching that lol
Im so sorry!!! 🫂
