nice video. that spook in your hand in bone was my best producing plug this year. cheap, too. one of the benefits of size for a fish, outside of the major one of being too big to become prey, is the development of that lateral line. these fish want to get big. big fish are more in tune with what is around them. they're not only more intelligent when they're old and big, they actually sense more. that's why they spook easily in spite of being the biggest kid on the block, why you will sometimes catch your biggest fish on your lightest leader, why it's hard to trick a big tarpon, etc. that said, i never leave my car without some big plugs unless it is very early spring. they evolved that big mouth for a reason, and in a perfect world the biggest fish are eating very large prey. adult baitfish, shellfish, even smaller gamefish. we had a lot of small bunker in the rivers this year and they stayed late into the season. good sign for the baitfishery. last year the bunker were huge and i caught probably 90% of my big fish on big pencils 3-4 oz.

I agree I've used rapala ssr14 and sp minnows and caught 39" bass the biggest being 49". However, it really depends on what they're eating.
Small and big fish love to smash bigger plugs.
