Great vid thanks. I struggle when big schools are around. Right now there are so many peanut bunker and they are pinned in this cove against the dock. Fish are destroying them. I pretty much use only lures. Occasionally i use bait. Even live-lining the peanut bunker i cannot get anything Its frustrating. Big fish smashing these peanut bunker five feet in front of me at times and i cannot even get one. Came pretty close to throwing tackle box and rods in water

Ive been fishing a small river for largemouths more than 30 miles upstream from the salt (Massachusetts) and I actually caught a little baby striper by mistake in June. Ill have to investigate it further to see if something like this could be going on there in the Spring. I know of people catching schoolies just a few more miles downstream in the Fall. Trying to learn as much as I can about Striper fishing

Next time your in skinny water like this and they are following the bait in to your feet, swing the bait around and slap it down hard about 10’ in front of the fish after it turns off. Hold on tight because they will knock the rod out of your hand. They think it’s another bass feeding and cause them to strike

I got a question, I fish where there are loads of freshwater muscles all over the rocks when they dig into it and u end up losing expensive spooks, I was fishing with 40 pound braid to 40 leader after I kept breaking off and it cuts way above the leader. I’m wondering if I should up it to 65 braid or jsut tie a much much longer leaderl line.

Good info thanks ! I secure clips to my rod by tying a small loop of mono on my bottom guide (it doesn’t interfere with fishing and lasts )
