    3 months ago I recommended this emulator framework to my former Hungarian TH-camr (with a green lambda sign) who also likes to use emulators to try out video games from different console platforms.
    It's really great that we can choose from a wide variety of themes, and we can set whether or not there are videopreviews. 🙂
    It's even great that it can be installed on an external storage device (whether it's a flash drive, external hard drive or SSD), so it can be made quasi-portable.
    I will soon try out how many emulators I can run on a Kingston Datatraveler Max flash drive. 🙂

    Thank you. One RB annoyance is the use of a fixed folder structure. Ideally, you should be able to have one games library with multiple front ends on the same system. You have to use Windows hard links to achieve this with RB.

    11:05 How do I know in which folder I have to put in the rom? What if I change the folder names and delete some folders, e.g. only one amiga folder instead amiga 500 amiga 1200 and so on?

    • @BytesNBits

      If you alter the folders you'll need to go into the RetroBat settings and tell it to remap itself to your new names, etc. For the amiga put the game into the folder for the Amiga model you want to use.

    How do you get the emulator when it launches a game like Dolphin, not appear in a small window and dissappear before launching a game? I really hate that. 😢

    • @BytesNBits

      For some emulators, especially stand alone ones, this is part of their startup sequence. Try using a RetroArch Libretro core. These tend to go straight into the game.

  • @safariknight3239

    If I want to use a custom standalone emulator for a system, can I do that? (Ex: Metroid Prime: Trilogy has a custom-made version of dolphin for it that's called PrimeHack)
    Also is it possible to transfer saves from my current emulators to retrobat?

    • @BytesNBits

      Yes. You can get RetroBat to launch most emulators. The built in ones it will set up for you. The others you have to give it a path to the executable file and maybe some command line parameters. But most will have guides for connecting them up.

    how do you uninstall a theme that you don't like? 1 other thing the gamecube games folder which run dolphin once you launch a gamecube game and the dolphin emulator run you cannot just press select and start to exit out of the game, you have to actually close out dolphin it self then go back to retrobat. I think is the same for ps2 and ps3 and other as well.

    • @BytesNBits

      Yes. It does a good job but not perfect for every emulator. It manages to install and connect but some of the finer setup details like in emulator hotkeys etc. you need to set up yourself.

  • @LoveYou-dv9gm

    can you manually scrape the image if the scraper cannot find the image on retrobat?

    • @BytesNBits

      Yes. There are actually media packs you can download that people have put together. You do have to be very careful about file and folder names to get them to match up. It's not something I've done myself but there are tutorials to help you work it out.

Another problem is after the update all Saturn Ps1 Ps2 Ps3 games are not playable. It's saying missing bios or firmware. They were working perfectly on 5.3 version. Such a nightmare.

    How can we directly run retrobat when pc boots up just like an arcade machine

    • @BytesNBits

      In the Retrobat folder you'll find BatGui.exe. Run that and in the ini settings section you'll find a start at bootup checkbox. Just tick that.
