I use Pro Tools 2023 on a Mac running Ventura, and I have just bought one of these BCF2000's secondhand on eBay. This video is tremendously useful and informative, and it's a hell of a lot simpler and easier to follow than the manual that comes with the device! One word of warning however, if you're connecting this to your computer via a USB lead: connect it directly to one of your computer's USB sockets rather than going via a USB hub. I initially connected the BCF2000 via a powered hub, but communication between the device and the computer wasn't full-duplex, so while the BCF2000 could make the faders move on screen in the Mix window, the computer couldn't make the actual faders move on the BCF2000. I also kept getting an annoying Pro Tools error message on the screen telling me it couldn't talk to the mixer. Once I connected directly, however, everything worked perfectly. @@alvarosuite5903 Off the top of my head I can't imagine what might be the problem, other than the fact that connecting the BCF2000 to your computer via any kind of USB hub is asking for problems like the one you've got. Assuming you're connecting the BCF2000 to your Mac via USB, have you tried connecting it via a USB-to-Thunderbolt adadapter and then going in through a Thunderbolt port? There have been a couple of times where a USB peripheral hasn't worked brilliantly via USB (as it's meant to) but when I've used a USB-Thunderbolt adapter they've worked much better. These adapters are readily available online (Amazon etc) and not at all expensive, and it might just solve the problem. I have an almost-new Mac Studio so you'd think there'd be no excuse for peripherals not working, but there's no accounting for gremlins. The only other thing I can think of is the famous "trashing Pro Tools preferences", which is often what's needed to sort Pro Tools problems, but I've never done it and I wouldn't like to advise on how it's done. There's a lot of online help on how to do this, and it might just give your system the 'kick up the backside' it needs. Good luck!
I have a question everything is working fine from track 1-8 but when I create 8 more tracks the faders don't move they just stay where I left them placed on track from 1-8 and the pan knobs don't work /: hope you can help me
Could be several things, like a conflict, or simply running out of cpu power. If you are on Windows, try launching Pro Tools with Run As Administrator (right click the icon, choose run as admin)
Also when i did this exact same as you , The bcf Faders did not react to what pro tools did, for example if i moved the faders on the bcf it would move the DAW Faders, but if i did it on pro tools and move a fader down nothing moves the BCF

When I use "write" mode it works, but I don't like to use "write mode". Do you have any insight or suggestions?

Can you use it's rotator knobs to control eq and compressor plugin parameters? I don't think this has ever been covered before? With Pro Tools I mean. :-)
is there a way to make it always control the master fader or a AUX track in pro tools? Right now if I Add a track it will disconnect from the Master Fader and I have to manually put it back on.

When I go to the MIDI Configure screen, the input is BCF2000, not BCF2000 (emulated), the output IS emulated. So I guess my drivers might be the problem?
Super loud... Makes me think those motors might not last... Wonder if they are better than the new XTouch stuff though! Never know if quality is going up or down...

Very helpful video. I was wondering if there was a way to change the panning value by one. Mine seems to only pan by 2 increments at a time.

Test it in a brand new session , i use to have that problem with automation , custom automated fades

Did you ever get it to work? I can't seem to get it into HUI either.
I tried this on my Protools 13HD and it sais "Exception error - Program not yet created. Please contact avid error 3219
MRM Pro Tools 13? The current version is Pro Tools 11. You may need to launch with Run As Admin, that seems to help with MIDI issues.
The faders seem pretty loud - isn't that annoying? Or am I wrong? Best, C
