In this video I make my most complex and difficult segmented pen for a friend of mine. this project includes various fine woodworking techniques including scroll saw work, general woodworking, and woodturning. it is interesting how such a small pen can take such an enumeration of time. I had many trials upon the way and had to restart once, but in the end, i was very pleased with the result and I think that the recipient of the gift wasn't too disappointed either.

I turn pens at my lathe's max of 3200 RPM, and that's considered pretty fast. It's a good thing you're not turning segmented salad bowls. I see you do a lot of Vertex pens. They're among my favorites. Happy Turning!
