    I have an Ayaneo 2 but i think i might upgrade to a Win Max 2 with 7840u next, it will be heavier but also faster thanks to 7500mhz ram, better battery with the 67wh, and it can be a small powerful laptop when needed

    • @DroiX_Store
      @DroiX_Store  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah the MAX series have always been a dark horse in the handheld scene but it has a lot of advantages over the others as you mentioned. The only downside is as a handheld it's not as comfortable as say the AYA NEO 2S, but you can sit it on a table and easily play with a controller etc.

    • @Games-kk5bm
      @Games-kk5bm ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DroiX_Store If I used a controller with the WM 2, then it is not a handheld anymore. Is holding it not comfortable for let's say 1.5 hours?
      It is really powerful and I think you can ramp it up to 40w tdp ???

    • @DroiX_Store
      @DroiX_Store  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Games-kk5bmif you are resting on say your lap or table like in the video then you can play it just fine for that long

    hello ! do you sell spare parts for ayaneo 2 ? i need a screwset and a backside (black) for ayaneo 2 . i bought mine used and the preowner didn´t manage to get into it without damage the outer case . he exchanged the nvme from 1tb to 2 tb . it had chimera os on it . with that it run just poorly . i reinstalled factory os and drivers and it now performs like it should :)

      Unfortunately we do not sell any spare parts for the AYA NEO 2. Have you tried contacting AYANEO to ask if they sell them?

    Maybe someone here can help me, I’m deciding between the win max 2 and laptop. I could get a laptop with at 4050 for $300 more. But I do like that the gpd has an oculink port so I could get a better graphics card in the future. Any ideas to help me decide??

    • @AdmiralBison
      @AdmiralBison ปีที่แล้ว +2

      well the "biggest" difference is what do you want to use these Gaming pcs for.
      The GPD Win Max 2 is a handheld gaming PC (which is a bit of a stretch as it is more a compact umc) with necessary controllers.
      The laptop is more stationary and you cannot hold and play it like a handheld gaming PC.
      Me personally, I've moved to handheld gaming PCs for PC gaming because of the mobility/portability, but am still on the lookout for that handheld gaming PC that will be powerful enough to be my desktop pc replacement.

      @@AdmiralBison appreciate the response, I’ll probably get the gpd win max 2 and plan to use a egpu with it as an upgrade when the desktop 40 series cards get a bit cheaper

    can you charge any of these devices with a power bank on the go to extend playing? particularly the Win Max 2 with its larger battery?

    • @DroiX_Store
      @DroiX_Store  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah providing the power bank has enough capacity and power output it is definitely possible.I've added it to the list for something we might look into further in a future video. Thanks.

    Great review. But could you include the 1% lows when crosscomparing the 2s to the rog ally? Im currious how the lpddr5x 7500 vs lpddr5 6500 affects the performance.

    • @DroiX_Store
      @DroiX_Store  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once all these launch issues have been fixed on the handhelds we will be making a new video with new benchmark results. We will include as much info as we can. Thanks.

    • @scow01
      @scow01 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DroiX_Store that makes sense. The driver and bios of these handhelds definitely need a bit of time to mature. Especially for the rog ally. Fingers crossed they are eventually able to address the performance issues at low tdp. And that the sd card issue is not a severe hardware issue that causes asus to abandon the product early.

    • @DroiX_Store
      @DroiX_Store  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@scow01 There is a BIOS update for the Ally out today which I believe fixes the SD card issue and adjusts the fan speeds. I have not had a chance to install it ytet, but will try it tomorrow to see if there's any performance increase.

    Been waiting on the 2S but the random benchmark results have me a little worried.

    • @DroiX_Store
      @DroiX_Store  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am fairly sure the graphics drivers will improve the performance. All three devices were underperforming in some benchmarks. We did see an increase on the Ally after the hotfix and I am fairly sure the AYANEO 2S and MAX 2 2023 will also see some improvements once the drivers get a proper update.

      @@DroiX_StoreRDNA 3 is still new we’ve seen this song and dance from AMD before. People need to realize nvidia specializes in gpus and devotes massive teams to making them work day 1. Amd graphics division is way smaller and they must work just as hard after launch to catch up. Hence the “age like fine wine” argument. Look at the 6900XT it got significantly better over the course of its lifespan eventually rivaling and even outperforming it’s nvidia counterpart. And best part is there haven’t been any 780m igpu driver updates so we know the performance increase is coming. Amd is all about patience…unfortunately.

    • @DroiX_Store
      @DroiX_Store  ปีที่แล้ว

      We will definitely see improvements. It is why we made it clear in the benchmarks that these are based on early drivers etc. We will be revisiting the benchmarks in a future video for all the 7840U models as soon as we see some performance increases.

      You can use the included USB-C to A adaptors. But we recommend a hub for the best connectivity as it provides more USB ports as well as other features such as output to a larger external display etc. Our DroiX NH8 hub at droix.net/product/droix-nh8-nvme-usb-hub/ is perfect for this.

      If you purchase from us at DroiX you get a proper warranty and support. We are present on live chat, phone, social media etc for customer service. If there is an issue then you return it to us and not China and we repair/replace as needed.
      AYA are tiring to improve their own customer service, they are trying their best to get this sorted.
      Everyone is aware that AYA do release a lot of new models, it is up to the customer if they buy it or not. AYA do announce new models well in advance such as their flip model. It is not launched yet but has been known for some months already.
