He died drunk in his sleep and failed to acheive life after death while numerous light side users acheived force ghost abilities with far less intense training than Plagius. Not to mention Plagius's master Tennebrous achieved the force ghost ability on a technicality.

I thought part of reason Palpatine told him about Plagueis was to fuel his desire to get to the holocron s in Jedi Archives...he could only reach them if he was a Master...which the Council didn't give him...so in a way even if Plagueis had been a fable it would've still stirred up Anakin's impatience and hostility to the Jedi and push him more to he dark side? Maybe keeping Plagueis novel in legend not canon means they're going to develop Plagueis along a parallel path..?

Anakin: this guy knows a lot about the sith, and for some reason Dooku looked really shocked when Palpatine ordered his execution. No worries though it’s not like Palpatine is an evil Sith Lord. If he is though there’s no evidence he would betray me or lie to me.
