Looking through the comments the these foreigners think that Shaolin Taichi is the same as traditional Taichi performance, and they also think that this is Kungfu, and they keep thinking that learning Kungfu is for fights…………. Thats why I strongly suggested them to travel and learn just a little bit about cultures about any other countries, judge with prejudices will be creating very bad imagines for your countries, and your ignorance.

I agree with that opinion. Practicality can be done by one's own hands-on and thoughtful consideration, and I don't think it's much different from a small child to be spoiled if others don't present what he or she is looking for.

Yeah, shaolin's taichi is different from taichiquan, but you are mistaking it. wudang taichiquan is originated from shaolin's taichi, not the other way around
This taichi technique isnt a whole martial art to be used for fighting. it is just suplemental technique to be used with shaolin kung fus like nanquan, tiger fist, crane fists, monkey fist, and many other fists

Tai Chi is the ultimate (muscle) essence of the Universe. Tai chi chuan is the martial art system of application of that same energy. LI kong jin is to practice the intuition of releasing muscle restriction and let chi flow through inner emptiness ( kong jin). Fa Jin is the release of the free flow (force). That is Tai Chi chuan and that is what Master is doing in this art form. Does not matter what style you use if you apply the principles. I can watch it over and over again and learn something, thanks for the post!

I've been practicing Silat and Escrima since 1993 and Taiji, Bagua and Xingyi since 2008. I like practicing slow twisting and circling steps with blades. It nourishes my brain and I circulate my chi to stay healthy and massage my internal organs to stay soft and limber.
The first thing I would teach someone is how to relax and root and circulate Qi. After relaxing, someone can learn basic Gong Fu!

Some of you are too focused on the division between the different practices instead of how you can help each other learn. this world can be very fun with martial-arts everywhere with crazy fun Adventures if only you as a individual decide to learn and share what you learn because it doesn't matter how much you know what matters is what value you bring to the world, and how you help others. Thats it. It's not about certificates or rankings. Share what you know with the world and witness first hand the amazing changes and elevation of humanity

Actually Chinese legend stated that, Tai chi was created by an ex-shaolin student. This young monk loved Kung Fu and was very talented as well but for some particular reasons they would not teach him and assigned him to a monk (who is his sifu/teacher) and not allowing sifu to teach this young monk neither. His sifu instead deliberately chanting the technique of the art during his meditation and he learned from by repeating silently and meditated along with his teacher/sifu. The young monk also violated one of the very strick rule of Shaolin by peaking at other practice and copy their moments without them noticed and without permission. So the young monk applied the chanting with the techniques he copied and self trained himself.
During one of the challenge by outsider, some Shaolin monks lost to the outsider and the outsider insulted the Temple. The young monk couldn't control his anger toward the insults by this outsider so he jumped in to defend the Temple face and name. He defeated it the outsider but revealed to the Temple his Kung Fu. Instead of being grateful for his saving, they turned around and persecute him for stealing instead. During this time where was a girl, who was a traveler and she was granted a to stay a night to rest. She saw the unfairness and spoke up. Her interfering caused injuries to some of the monks and she was going to be punished as well. They both where being surrounded and going to be punished but the young monk's sifu/teacher jumped in saved them and they ran away from Shaolin. His sifu/teacher died due to sustaining heavy injuries while saving them.
The young monk went on and created what called Wudang. The girl was in love with him but he refused her and she was upset with him so she went and create her own clan (I forgot what it called) but their rules to never involve with men or die. So very late in his life he developed Taiji and then passing it down to generations there after. Of course Shaolin never accepted him but always try to claim what he creation were stolen from them. Wudang became a very big and powerful in comparison to Shaolin and their specialties are sword and fancy foot works.
So technically, Taiji was created by a Wudang master who was a (exiled) Shaolin disciple.

Chen style tai chi . Chen style looks more powerful than yang and lots of stomping with the foot . Tai chi and Wudang , bagua are internal Kung fu . Shaolin Is external kung fu . But ultimately both Kung fu tends to meet into the same point . Internal Kung fu u practice soft , round , breathing , conscious movement then you can fight may take 30 yrs to reach that. External Kung fu you train hard to be as hard as steel and iron for combat but particularly in shaolin ur meditating too just like Wudang and tai chi and eventually acquire chi .
Both school involve meditation and chi cultivation . All the external Kung fu stem from shaolin but the meditation and chi cultivation got stripped away over time . Without understanding of chi just doing martial arts may lead to injury overtime . With solely meditation will weaken the body overtime . When the Buddhist /Taoist monks were trying to seek enlightenment their body was weakened they starved themselves seeking the truth and Damo the Indian boddhidarma noticed it and taught them hatha yoga , breathing and some movements to strengthen their body . Damo was strong looking as per the historical records . Soon Observing animal movement were incorporated in fighting . It was a slow process before shaolin Kung fu was truly established . As per Wudang it was again a monk Cheung Sam fung who was searching for enlightenment he also learned the teaching of Da Mo that was passed on to his era . One time he saw a fight between a bird and a snake and was fascinated that snake used the least of energy to escape from the bird’s beak while the bird soon got tired and flew away . He learned that one should create energy instead of wasting energy . How to recycle the energy again. So with that and Daoist philosophy Wudang was then established . Tai chi stems from Wudang . Tai chi Chen was practiced in Chen village . Then someone wang ...( forgot the full name) came tot he village softened Chen tai chi and yang tai chi was established , Wu later on and then sun ... anyhow external Kung fu is shaolin then développed to white crane hung har wing Chun spread to karaté in Japan . Just to say that everything is all related and meet at the same point . People who do external Kung fu at advanced level will realize that they r missing elements from internal Kung fu and vice versa .

That is how I understand what he doing.in one he is creative.and is learn zen taichi before which lost in the new shaolin style in modern China. A lot of the kata that is use now in shaolin or so call new kata more for show and teach. It hard to see traditional styles now

Shaolin and Taiji are two vastly different styles (hint: Shaolin is External, Taiji is Internal). This is the Chen style's Cannon Fist (aka 2nd form). Good performance. If he's able to fight as well as he does forms he will be a good masster one day.
