As the owner and maintainer of a 2003 example of one of these cars (W220 bi-turbo), I can confirm that what BASCA have done here takes serious knowledge and experience. The basic design of these M275 engines is very good, using time-tested design techniques. The key to a successful and long-lasting rebuild is the attention to detail, especially when dealing with an engine with this many moving parts. You made something that is not easy, look easy. That is the mark of a pro.
Well done.
They don't even use a torque wrench
@@TheFlyingWrench888 The instructions say in red - do not use abrasive sandpaper, these Papuans rub with abrasive
Fantastic video!
Beautiful job guys , thank you😀
Thank you.
pallet bolts from the construction market, the E bolts are original, but they have hex bolts from a cart
Great job by Team Basca, an awesome engineering feat which looks like it was a piece of cake for you guys. Congratulations.
Thank you sir.
I am a long time customer of Basca Motors and I am satisfied with all the work
@@Bascamotors I have a 2016 S600 engine that needs rebuilt can I contact you to fix it
@@kinggriiind5485 you can write to us info@bascamotorworks.com
So why didn't you machine the block and heads? You basically just washed it and slapped it back together then??
yeah I dont get it either.
Guys the engine was low mileage (23,000 kms) and had the top charge air cooler system leaked causing coolant to enter and resulting in bent conn rods.
doubt these guys have any formal technical training. They're not even using a torque wrench on con rods🤦♂️🤦
SUPER.
Job well done👍👍

Sorry to say but you missed the most important O-ring in the Cylinder Valley. The inner cover with the 16 bolts never came off in your video.
Good. Work
Superb job guys and congratulations
Thank you sir.
great job
Forget torque rods to spec just worry about bad music and stupid masks with our logo
They put more effort into this video than this engine, just pressure wash it and then send the bolts?

inserts on the block? and over tightening clearly evident when reassembling the bearing caps, even doing it up a small amount without having a torque ratchet handy.. If i were considering a rebuild somewhere i wouldn't be hiring someone that uses inserts when the block was completely stripped that could have been repaired properly, both easily and quickly. This is a cheap job not a restoration / high quality job. Sorry but i know what i'm looking at.
Hey ... where can I get a V12 engine like this one?
Search M275 bi-turbo 👍🏼👌
How long did it take to build the new engine and install it?
bro you didn't show the cylinder head bolt full torque
Do you need the torque figure ?
Hey, only 48 valves to lap.
Best oil for Mercedes with brand ?
We use Mercedes Benz original oil
You can also check out there website for approved list of partners for the oil
Why are the 2 cam shafts non identical
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spares will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called "Abgasbspaßung" :-)
