So nice to see back on here. Miss your presence here. Yes girl, throw out the schedule. Looks like you’re doing an amazing history deep dive. I just discovered Musical Multiplication and wish I had done it with my oldest too but will definitely use it for my younger ones.
I have the Child’s History of the Works but have been overwhelmed with the size of it so it’s been sitting on my bookshelf. Hearing your input and about the short chapters I may have to pick it up.
Its good to see you Sarah❤ Those sound like interesting history books, I need to check them out. I have several GATB history books and my kids just zone out, it's a little above their heads(K-3). I set the GATB aside for this year and we started reading about American historical figures. It's been So much better this year! But, I was trying to decide what to next year.
Awe, thank you!! I actually made this video in February, but I just got around to putting it up. I'm switching things up a bit. LOL, we tried GATB History 1 many years ago, but I never could finish it and then sold it to a friend. We did enjoy the pyramid boy as a read aloud, though.
I rebel against schedules too 😂 but ultimately you make your own way. Just do the next thing and if you’re enjoying it and learning that’s good enough.
YAY!!! Always look forward to this!!! 🤗💕 PS: We're a homeschool fam in your neck of the woods. And I've wanted to reach out to you to see about getting together, buuutttt I've been dealing w/ autoimmune and other health issues this entire year too....
Oh wow!!! That is awesome you're close by! I'm so sorry your dealing with autoimmune 😔 it sucka when you don't feel your best physically. Praying for you 🙏
We use Charlotte Mason coming from sonlight and there is some bleed over with so many books. We use a mixture of ambleside online and a gentle feast. I never read a child’s History of the world because we used sotw instead. So I’m with you girl. We are reading our island story and I was going to do sotw but think I may do chow 😆 Claritas publishing is amazing. I highly recommend going that route for memory work. It’s ladies who left CC and created their own and it matches with SOTW! It’s amazing. Cross seven is the steaming service. It has more flexibility and more bible.
Here is what they say on their website. "We are Christians, but Guest Hollow's Whirlwind Curriculum is not intended to be a “Christian resource”. However, there may be infrequent (or what we consider to be) minor references or links to resources that mention Christian ideas, values, or sectarian topics even in our secular/non-religious/neutral curriculums."

Wow, thanks for all the info!! I love it! My friend was just telling me about Claritas, but I didn't know they were people who left CC.
