Slide can be so much fun to play. Especially if you put drive and slapback delay on it. You can pull out some interesting tones.

Thank you- great lesson. I've been wanting to start learning slide for years. Are you in standard tuning? A lot of players use alternate tunings.

I was in standard for this. I love open g and d though for slide playing as well!

@@ElizabethMoenMusic One of my favorite musicians of all time, George Harrison started playing slide towards the end of the Beatles and quite a bit during his solo career. Listen to "Give me Love". He had an impeccable sense of feel when it came to his playing.

Check out her videos with CME! Such a great voice. And check out her own music as well, of course.

Glad To see a new Instructor come on board so soon... I just got a neat little metal "nut sheath" (?) By Grover that slides over your regular guitar's nut so you don't need a second guitar dedicated to slide (but I wouldn't want to change it mid-set... Lets you keep your action low til you loosen your strings and retune for slide... Totally doable but between sets for anybody gigging). It's really fun and easy to get started, but as so often the case with guitar, "lifetime mastery goal" ; )

@@HOUSEDOMEFUNKofficial oh yeah, I've seen those before. Seems like it's really handy.

I have never thought about slide, but this Fender video showed up, so i thought that i would click to see what the video was about.
I most definitely do NOT listen to slide guitar music.
