연주복이 아주 편해서 연주자가 연습 할 때 처럼 몰입해서 칠 수 있을듯.. 노출 심한 옷 보단 훨씬 본질에 충실된 위엄있는 모습!

Definitely brilliant. Very playful, audacious, but natural. I like her energy and creativity that make the old piece new again to my ear. Intensely following her now.

She takes liberties and with Liszt that is exactly what you should do. She makes this unique and interesting. You sit up and listen even if you have heard this piece hundreds of times

The best interpretation on youtube wihout doubt. Her interpretation is so incredibly musical, each note has a meaning, the most musical playing of this concerto without doubt. In addition, she adds this unique virtuosity that only Lim has the secret....and that passion ! So sexy, she's the sexiest pianist alive...
And Cziffra?

Here's a woman who's not afraid to take chances on stage. In this respect she's much like Arthur Rubinstein was. Haven't heard a performance as daring as this since Martha Argerich's which is here on TH-cam. I love this concerto to death but I'll never forgive Liszt for not putting a badly-needed tympani roll on the final chord and letting the soloist finish with the orchestra. Thankfully, most pianist include their own two closing chords, but Ms. HJ does them one better: she puts in her own "tympani roll" at the end with a tremolo. She obviously felt the concerto needed it too. Cliburn did one with Ormandy, that was the first I'd heard it done, and Yundi Li does it on one of his numerous videos of this concerto here on TH-cam, but it is rarely added, just a flat loud brass unison E-flat to close out an otherwise rousing piano concerto.
Finally! In hundreds of interpretations I had never listened to this concerto as it's meant to be - exactly like HJ Lim played. GENIUS!
The more and more I listen to HJ Lim I'm convinced the greatest pianist of all times is born! She has a bit of all of the best. Just close your eyes and you will acknowledge it. It's AWESOME.
Regarding this live performance with HJ "White-Hot" Lim as soloist, it is utterly fantastic. Such mastery, such passion, such playfulness, such joy emanating from the artist in performance is awe-inspiring to hear, see, and feel. I do believe that many of the orchestral players, and even some conductors of her concerto performances, have little idea of what HJ is doing or why - which is being a true-to-self super-virtuoso - and often appear bewildered. It is a GREAT TREAT to see and hear her play this music.
I once saw a high-school-age student group perform a skit they had written themselves. The final character appears, running, then sliding back and forth across the stage, igniting a flame at the end of each run. Finally stopped, he is asked, "What are you DOING?", and responds, "I'm burning down houses!" After a few more trips with the flame-thrower, the question follows, "What ELSE can you do?", and is answered, "I can burn them up!" HJ Lim is burning down houses everywhere she performs, and burning them up, whenever possible - wow.

I love the way Asian artist take over the european culture, and I wished we european people would learn about asian culture as much!!! But we are very often ignorant. I do NOT agree completely to this interpretation of Liszt, but it is a very special one, well calculated and a deeply emotional uploaded way to play. She is great, but in between this recording and the presence is al little time, and she had really used it for a great changes. But this young lady always gives you the feeling: I never have heard this music, it is alway completely new.... Thanks for placing this recoding! There is little to add to your bright comment . Yes , this concerto , of which I don't have a great admiration , here and there pretty boring , becomes suddenly incredibly electric ....; "as it would be completely new" .... what a pleasure .... this is a delightful sensation of optimistical hope (for all other 50-50 works ...) .
And after all , this music is half crazy , then why not playing it in this way ..... she takes heavy risks , is concentrated like nobody today , and likes the galopping black horse she actually is .....
By the way , Liszt was at least 75% mad , and this version could be much more close to a possible historic authenticity as some may think .....
So or so , go ahead HJ , I love your music and your hairs .

Some years ago Martha Argerich was the only real virtuoso female pianist on the planet and can only be described as phenomenal yet today from the the top 10 Concert Players on the stage - 5 are ladies and arguably close to closing out the top 5 places which would only underline the metaphysical changes we - the planet and the Universe are going through in these times when the Divine Feminine is returning to the planet after 26,000 years of the Patriarchal domination and nobody could be more happy than me. H J Lim is somebody who after loving the magic of Khatya Buniatishvili and Valentina Lisitsa could not believe somebody could come along and surpass all of that.
The first time I heard her play the tears flowed freely - not because I wanted them but that's what she does - no words to describe - technique - creativity in expression - pure beauty - and humility as a beautiful being giving beauty to the world.

Magnificent! I'm in general not a big fan of her, but THIS CONCERTO, pianists and conductors have to play like her! Only a handful amount of pianists can play Liszt properly. So many snob pianists and conductors ruin this masterpiece with boring and pedantic "interpretation".

그 목관악기 이름은 모르는데 오케 목관악기 단원분이랑 두 분이서 눈 마주치며 연주할 때 너무 아름다워요...
와따_메~~~ 어떤 떄는 음을 던저서 음악을 맞추는 느낌... 어떤 때는 음악위를 잔잔하게 거니는 느낌.. ㅎㅎ
Cette jeune femme fort douée il est vrai, a tellement travaillé son piano, et pas exactement dans d'excellentes conditions de travail, jour et nuit habitant un garage et jouant de même, a tellement de mérite d'être arrivée à un tel niveau, que j'en ai les larmes aux yeux en l'entendant.
Ce n'est pas à la gloire de la réponse qui lui fut faite dans un conservatoire de province, quand à 14 ans elle voulut apprendre à jouer Liszt et qu'elle s'entendit dire : non, pas avant l'âge de 16 ans !
Mon Dieu, la stupidité humaine, car il y a des exceptions à la règle qui s'imposent ! Un prof qui ne sent pas ces choses, qui n'est pas capable d'anticiper, n'est pas un bon prof !
oui , elle a beaucoup de mérite et avec toutes les moqueries des autres enfants ça a du être dur . j'en sais quelque chose mais si la vie vous épargne pas , elle vous rend plus résistant . et bravo a elle ; lui souhaite une longue carrière.

Arktos500 Yes it is one of the leading Korean orchestras, even Riccardo Muti did a guest conducting here! He was very happy.
