    Hello Sir, What if a spark gap exits within the load area? What possible value might be attributed to capacitance, then?
    As there is no voltage drop actually exists, unless or until it got short-circuited at the section of load or could say the spark gap came to an "NC" position.

    Hi,
    If we don't have 7805 and instead, we connect this circuit to a direct 25x led 3v 350ma, how can we calculate the voltage of the C=i*t/V?

    • @GKAgrawal2
      @GKAgrawal2  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If only LED, then no need of capacitor. But you need a current limiting resistor to limit current to maximum 350 mA at highest voltage, or some other method to limit current.
      But Led light intensity will change with input voltage change.

    Hi sir, if i were to use a 230-12V step down center-tapped transformer to obtain a positive and negative supply, with 4 diodes, 2 connected in forward biased connected to positive terminal of the capacitor to get the positive supply voltage(same as the example u gave in the video) and the other 2 diodes connected in the opposite direction connected to the negative terminal of the capacitor to get the negative supply voltage, do I need to use 2 of the same transformer or just one transformer will do?

    • @GKAgrawal2
      @GKAgrawal2  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      one transformer may do, but you have to use 2 capacitors, one for plus supply and one for negative supply. One terminal of both the capacitors should be connected to middle tap of the transformer. You should test this ckt, as I have not tried. I have designed industrial grade high quality circuits. We always used 2 separate isolated windings of the same transformer.

    • @GKAgrawal2

    Hello sir, I have a led light driver which has an input of direct 220V and then M7 diodes 4pcs and then immediate capacitor of 10uF 400V and later on constant current IC, smps transformer/chopper, filter capacitor etc. But according to your calculation the capacitor value I get is around 130uF but in the driver it is 10uF. Could you please clarify this?

    • @GKAgrawal2
      @GKAgrawal2  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For 5 Volt for TTL IC you need better quality voltage regulation.
      For LED lights better regulation is not required. Just average current will be sufficient.
      This is due to the fact that our eyes cannot see light variation at 50 hz. Our eye sensitivity for light is less than 10 to 20 hz.
      Further LEDs will work for different current variations, but 5V IC will not work for different voltages. It requires 5V only.
      So lesser cap value may be sufficient for LED circuits.
      Further SMPS circuits can give proper output for more input variation.

      Very good question.Yes your observation is correct that capacitor will discharge upto to 7 volt and will start charging again. But this will happen if capacitor value is correct exactly as per calculation. If capacitor value is higher {you will never get correct capacitor value} then it will not discharge up to 7 volt, it may be up to 8 or 9 volt. Then further if load is not full then it may discharge upto 9 or 10 volt, so we take full 10 mSec time. this is the simplest way and safer side. But if you are perticular then you can always calculate for exact discharge time, but then you will need very high knowlege of considering all known or unknown factor. But no body had perfect knowledge. you will known this after many years of industrial experiece. (Donot assume that your college knowledge is sufficient, you need to learn much more, to do product design).

    Sir, Very informative. I have a doubt. if I put 5 Ampere to the capacitance formula, I am getting 14,000 micro F (something wrong).’ what changes to be done. Thank you..

      @GKAgrawal2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For high load current, you will require a big capacitor.
      But where do you need such high current at regulated voltage.

    • @wilsonmarkose6568
      @wilsonmarkose6568 ปีที่แล้ว

      12v 5Amp is for audio amplifiers. We generally use 4700 mfd 25V and working fine. My question is why I am getting 5 times of mfd when I am using the formula.

    • @GKAgrawal2
      @GKAgrawal2  ปีที่แล้ว

      With less capacitors, you get poor regulation. Further, at 5 volts, the speaker of 4 ohm will draw less than 0.5 amperes AC.

      0.1 micro ka koee calculation nahee hai. Yeh anubhav se aata hai. IC banane walee company bhee eskee value batatee hai. 0.1 fix nahee hai. Aap thoda kam jyada bhee use kar sakte hai.

      25-0-25 will get maximum dc (25x 1.414)-1.4= 33 vdc only +/1 33 v we can make. you need little higher voltage , sub my channel too

    Why the 12 Volt transformers these days give 14 volts Ac at 240 volt input supply thereby giving peak output Dc of 20-21 volts ? Is it due to the fact that manufacturers today do extra winding to compensate the diode drop loss or due to lower primary winding for 220 v ?

    • @GKAgrawal2
      @GKAgrawal2  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To compensate for drop in winding. Watch my video on voltage drop and heating problem in transformer.
