I am taking an electrial engineering technician program and am currently in an electronics course. I have sat through hours of electronics lectures, done a bunch of practical labs and no one was able to explain this in such a logical manner. I am so glad I stumbled upon your video!! Thank you!!
Guys I know this is late posting on this comment, but can any of you help me try to figure this question out? These circuit diagrams, are they just diagrams for conventional use only? meaning that if you used this circuit diagram for instance in real life it wouldn’t work as the actually current is flowing negative to positive so the diodes wouldn’t do what you want them to do. Hopefully if you read this you could explain that to me. I’d really appreciate it. Thanks 👍
@@Livefree432Livewhole These diagrams are designed for conventional flow. However, you can use the same diagrams and just think in the opposite way. The electrons will flow from negative to positive, so they flow from a low potential to a high potential. That also means, that the electrons actually flows toward the "arrow" from the diode. Everything works in the opposite way, well at least the current. If we go to the beginning of the video and let's say that the electrons flow from the transformer through point "C" and "D", through the resistor, then through point "B" and "A"(B because it has the higher potential than C) and finally back to the transformer, then you'll see that the end result is the same.
If there are tutors who are the best, I rate you as one of them, your voice is tender, no rushing clear and everything is logically articulated. You are my inspiration
Through just a comment I cannot express enough how grateful I am for your videos and how much they help me in my electrical engineering study, but I hope you see this and know I love every single one of your videos. Thank you so much ❤
No kiddin! Absolutely the best Bridge Rectification tutorial. Seriously forget all you have seen until now. All is taught with the voltage drops and the infamous "D" junction, where many newbies couldn't understand why the current followed D3 but not D4 though both diodes were on the + side... Kudos to the channel.
yo man i remember when i was going through trigonometry your videos helped so much. Now im here bout to get a bachelors in electrical engineering and i am still coming to your channel for help. by far the best channel for everything school related. thanks a ton man
Bro i was never interested in electrical circuits in my life but whenever i see your videos i feel like i can understand everything. The thing is my tutorial teacher never explains me anything, they just tell how to do questions.....so i could solve all the questions after going through notes but couldnt understand anything or how the circuit was working. Thanks to your videos now i can understand everything and can solve all the quess like a fucking G.
Excellent excellent excellent!!!!! When I was learning electronics in tech school (Ohio institute of Technology) in 1975, it took me a couple of weeks to grasp this concept. The teacher was just using a chalk blackboard ect. The graphics would have make it much easier to grasp, but it didn't exist. I haven't looked at this in decades, but I remember it. I also remember the struggle to grasp it at well. Excellent job!!!!
I believe this is the first time I've commented on TH-cam, but this is seriously the best Video on electronics I have ever seen and has made everything so clear for me.. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
explain very well, I like the way it was laid out and talk. I was in Electronics for over 25yrs. I overhaul CEDM for the reactor at a Nuclear Power Plant
👍🏻 Thank you for the excellent explanation! _Especially_ the behaviour of D4 during the positive half-cycle. I could never see why it was off, but you solved my mystery perfectly. Thanks again, and God bless
I'm just here for fun, or at least until I get to full wave bridge rectifiers in upcoming semesters. Very good explanation and finally can see the purpose of inductor, capacitor as well as Zener diode
I absolutely agree that JG is an excellent teacher !!! I finally have firm grasp of bigger picture. Is it possible to find out how one calculates best values for the inductor, shunt cap, and load resistor ? Keep up the good work young man. I've not only subscribed, but I'm going to check all of the videos.
Bro thanks much. U r explain complex stuff patiently n slowly so everybody is on track. U r the best teacher in all my academic life in my opinion. Bless u God will.
Great job! You explain it very well, so there are no questions. Thanks for clarifying both Electron flow and Conventional flow. You’re pretty good at teaching with the graphic board.
So, I guess I'm hazy about the purpose of the load resistor. If the series resistor is meant to reduce the current so it won't damage the diodes; then what is the purpose of the load resistor? To protect the device from too much current? Anyway Great Lecture! He clarified several points about the character of each of the circuit elements that is helping to solidify my understanding of circuits! love it baby❣
thanks u for a very clear explanation of full wave rectifier power supply, hope for more videos, about different part of circuit, its very very informative, more power tnx again.
Great video and explanation. Unfortunately, many companies will try to minimize the cost of the power supply and there will be trade offs as far as including a zener diode, inductors and/or higher current rated rectifier diodes.
thank you very much, i hope the next video will extend the information the connection of potentiometers for a different DC voltage output from 1.5,2,3 and so on, and how to do that in the circuit...
Hey just pointing this out. I think you got the direction of forward bias backwards. It should be when current is flowing through cathode that is forward bias and vise versa

How have your studies been going?
Hi there
Absolutely. I've completed the same program and it was never explained this way.
This must be the best explanation of a bridge rectifier and the purpose of an inductor with in a power supply I have heard, Great Job A++++++++++++++
..in my life, Great Job A+++++++++
agree

Changed my life bruh I needed this
Thank you for the best explanation Grea job👌
Finally someone explains why the current won´t go through the upper diode. It´s all about potential difference. Well done!! :D
I agree, I was trying to figure out the same thing.
