Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind DLC let me “remind” everyone about Versus XIII and how I hated the fact it got scrapped must be what Nomura feels but I’m only speculating I really do wish they make a FFXV-2 and have it be an alternate universe and have it be Versus XIII but I doubt that’ll happen.
Why do the fans make up this narrative of Nomura being an old bitter man? If he was this wouldn't have been approved? It's just a passion project seemingly that both he and many of us want.
Back when Nomura was still working on Versus XIII, he stated that any ideas he can't fit into Versus XIII would be reserved for Kingdom Hearts. Granted, in context he was most likely referring to gameplay ideas, but there's nothing to say that story ideas wouldn't also get carried over (especially if XV's story was drastically different from Versus XIII's).
@@thedothackerkeyblademaster Whatever Versus' story was, it's not clear. The game's plot kept getting rebooted multiple times through development. Towards the end of the 7 years of development, Versus' earlier trailers weren't part of the plotline anymore.

I mean if we’re honest, pretty much all the secret bosses and ending from the numbered games were like that. The hooded figures in the realistic city from 1 & the armoured knights in the desert from 2 left the same feeling at the time. The Verses XIII stuff is new though.

Hell I’d wager that KH and Versus were meant to be connected, but when he got kicked off the team I guess he changed noctis’ name and altered a bit of his design. Yeah, Sora turning to crystal was a major XIII lore-flashback for me. And seeing as the l'cie concept was originally in the VS XIII universe, I just cackled at Nomura's blatant use of scrapped material.
In the Versus XIII trailer, the driver says "あれ 迫力ですね" (0:14) while in the Japanese version of the Kingdom Hearts scene the driver says "あれ すごいですね". Due to the same sentence structure and the fact that both 迫力 and すごい can mean "impressive", the Versus XIII line could just as accurately be translated as "Impressive, is it not?".
Brian Silva actually made into what. A selfie road trip lol nah. Nomura would have eventually finished the game. And it would have been great. At least in versus there was gonna be more action in the fighting than just holding X the whole time to attack and using fuckin unlimited potions. First play through I only died once. The fuckin duscae demo had a better battle system than the base game. And more random enemies at night.
It's not weird or petty Nomura wants to revive versus XIII. He spent almost 10 years working on it, just imagine working 10 years on something just for it to be erased, 10 years, where were you 10 years ago? and he seemed extremely passionate about the project in interviews too. Its not weird at all, and Nomura knows there are vs XIII fans, he's said to read fans opinions online for feedback
Imagine making characters that are very special and dear to you, and then someone else takes them and re-writes everything with only the goal of having a finished project on the shelves, erasing your intended feelings and love interests and all kinds of stuff. That has to just sting. I wish XV just made a new protagonist it feels weird just having the look and name of a character from something completely different there.
The issue is Nomura works on a lot of convoluted stuff, so it's possible Square got tired or thought it wouldn't be profitable. Look at FF VII, the whole series is so convoluted (I'm a fan of everything FF VII btw) and let's not even start with the lot of games from Kingdom Hearts. I do hope he gets something from Versus 13 out. It looked dope.

Kind of scared that theyre mixing bits of versus 13 with KH. I feel like it wouldnt live up to its true potential and the grim/dark aspects would definitely be toned down. Another reason being that the KH story is sooo complex and crazy at this point that idk if all this should be mixed in. Plus yozora's design just makes me think attempt #3 at all this, with noctis and riku all looking the same except yozora has weapons that i'm not particularly fond of, especially that weird crossbow thing. I really wanted versus 13 to be a thing but its been a really bumpy road, and they butchered my boy Noctis in XV that definitely didnt live up to expectations. But maybe somehow they'll make it all work and it will be awesome which i hope so badly.

Watch him actually make Verum Rex a real game on it's own to feel like FF Versus XIII wasn't a wasted concept. Then in a secret scenario of that game, it reveals how that world got connected to KH. So in other words, we've been seeing a crossover by a game that's secretly in development.
If i have to choose between having versus 13 or ff7 remake first I’ll chose versus 13! It was one of the most ambitious projet square Enix ever did. Too bad they forced nomura to drop the game so he can focus on kingdom heart 3
Versus development was a mess, and both SE *AND* Nomura are to blame for it. SE kept pulling people to another projects, while Nomura got too ambitious with his ideas and kept changing stuff all the time instead of actually finishing them, and planning entire series out of it already. The game was only 25% complete when Tabata stepped in, and had to redo and drop lot of work to make it finished in time to the set deadline.
@HaremGodRance ffxv HAD to be out by the end of 2016, even as half-assed. so they had to try to patch it up afterwards through dlc. while i dont like that either or their decision to cut out story stuff, it was their choice in order to get the game out before deadline.

I’ve been calling it since that 4chan leak in 2016. Nomura was pissed at what they did with XV. And he’s been sowing the seeds in rebooting it. The clues are there. Dissidia NT, some of the XV DLC, Kingdom Hearts 3 secret ending, hell even the World Ends with You final mix and that interview with Nomura after when he was asked about a sequel and he said “Play KH3” and chuckled. The madman has been creeping and scheming this whole time. I expect a crossover of Nomura titles he worked on in a type of Avengers/Dissidia like game! It could also be that revival for a Versus reboot. Zeal was right. Never doubted him.

I have been waiting since the very first trailer of Versus XIII..and while some games just don't come out, this is the one game, the one final fantasy i truly wanted.
Remember the next game Eraqus was going to show Xehanort? This time, it would be a game of 7 darknesses and 13 lights. Yozora translates to "Night Sky" as opposed to Sora's regular "sky." Theory: Yozora is one of the 7 darknesses and will be the protagonist of the next story, or at least one of the protagonists. His story will set up his battle *versus XIII lights*
Not to add more confusion by mentioning another final fantasy (like 15 and v13), in the shadowbringers expansion of FFXIV, you basically have to restore balance between light and darkness. Maybe in this next KH game, light becomes too powerful so you have to then try and balance it out with darkness with Yozora?

Plot twist: There is no Kingdom Hearts 3, there's no Kingdom Hearts at all. All of this was just a prequel to Final Fantasy V 13.

Yeah, Sora turning to crystal was a major XIII lore-flashback for me. And seeing as the l'cie concept was originally in the VS XIII universe, I just cackled at Nomura's blatant use of scrapped material.
In the Versus XIII trailer, the driver says "あれ 迫力ですね" (0:14) while in the Japanese version of the Kingdom Hearts scene the driver says "あれ すごいですね".
Due to the same sentence structure and the fact that both 迫力 and すごい can mean "impressive", the Versus XIII line could just as accurately be translated as "Impressive, is it not?".
None of this, makes sense to me.
Now we're cooking here... And it's getting very interesting. If KH4 will be more like FF Versus XIII vibe or it'll be FF Versus XIII, I'LL LOVE IT.

Brian Silva actually made into what. A selfie road trip lol nah. Nomura would have eventually finished the game. And it would have been great. At least in versus there was gonna be more action in the fighting than just holding X the whole time to attack and using fuckin unlimited potions. First play through I only died once. The fuckin duscae demo had a better battle system than the base game. And more random enemies at night.

It's not weird or petty Nomura wants to revive versus XIII. He spent almost 10 years working on it, just imagine working 10 years on something just for it to be erased, 10 years, where were you 10 years ago? and he seemed extremely passionate about the project in interviews too. Its not weird at all, and Nomura knows there are vs XIII fans, he's said to read fans opinions online for feedback
Imagine making characters that are very special and dear to you, and then someone else takes them and re-writes everything with only the goal of having a finished project on the shelves, erasing your intended feelings and love interests and all kinds of stuff. That has to just sting. I wish XV just made a new protagonist it feels weird just having the look and name of a character from something completely different there.
The issue is Nomura works on a lot of convoluted stuff, so it's possible Square got tired or thought it wouldn't be profitable. Look at FF VII, the whole series is so convoluted (I'm a fan of everything FF VII btw) and let's not even start with the lot of games from Kingdom Hearts. I do hope he gets something from Versus 13 out. It looked dope.

Is Yozora a direct nod to Noctis? Yes. Is Yozora in fact Noctis? Hmmm. Outside the game we know so but inside KH it’s yet to be told. While Yozora can be a big player in the story to come I sorta saw this as symbolism. FFXIII Versus went on without Nomura and became XV. Plot Twist: What if Noctis is dreaming of Yozora' dream of Sora.
Kind of scared that theyre mixing bits of versus 13 with KH. I feel like it wouldnt live up to its true potential and the grim/dark aspects would definitely be toned down. Another reason being that the KH story is sooo complex and crazy at this point that idk if all this should be mixed in. Plus yozora's design just makes me think attempt #3 at all this, with noctis and riku all looking the same except yozora has weapons that i'm not particularly fond of, especially that weird crossbow thing. I really wanted versus 13 to be a thing but its been a really bumpy road, and they butchered my boy Noctis in XV that definitely didnt live up to expectations. But maybe somehow they'll make it all work and it will be awesome which i hope so badly.

Watch him actually make Verum Rex a real game on it's own to feel like FF Versus XIII wasn't a wasted concept. Then in a secret scenario of that game, it reveals how that world got connected to KH. So in other words, we've been seeing a crossover by a game that's secretly in development.

No, they forced Nomura to drop the game because he was bad at his job and couldn't finish the game.
Versus development was a mess, and both SE *AND* Nomura are to blame for it. SE kept pulling people to another projects, while Nomura got too ambitious with his ideas and kept changing stuff all the time instead of actually finishing them, and planning entire series out of it already. The game was only 25% complete when Tabata stepped in, and had to redo and drop lot of work to make it finished in time to the set deadline.

I’ve been calling it since that 4chan leak in 2016. Nomura was pissed at what they did with XV. And he’s been sowing the seeds in rebooting it. The clues are there. Dissidia NT, some of the XV DLC, Kingdom Hearts 3 secret ending, hell even the World Ends with You final mix and that interview with Nomura after when he was asked about a sequel and he said “Play KH3” and chuckled. The madman has been creeping and scheming this whole time. I expect a crossover of Nomura titles he worked on in a type of Avengers/Dissidia like game! It could also be that revival for a Versus reboot. Zeal was right. Never doubted him.

Not to add more confusion by mentioning another final fantasy (like 15 and v13), in the shadowbringers expansion of FFXIV, you basically have to restore balance between light and darkness. Maybe in this next KH game, light becomes too powerful so you have to then try and balance it out with darkness with Yozora?
