Thank you comedy central for doing the archeology work and digging up this full special for us. Salt and Pepper diner is forever a classic, this awkward confident tall child is such a good comedian huh
I always refer to this story as "The Salt & Pepper Pussycats". It is one of the most greatest, eternally classic comedy stories I have ever heard. I listen to this every time I see it somewhere. I send it to other people. I've played it 21 times, with a different john Mulaney bit as number 8. I've got the poster, and everything. I even made my own shirt about it. I still laughed when I watched this one.
I've listened to The Top Part so many times but never actually seen most of the bits performed. Honestly exactly how I pictured most of them but still pretty cool to see a baby Baby J.
The diner story was the first bit i ever heard from John Mulaney. I was working out while listening to a Pandora comedy station in, like, 2010. I was laughing so hard i had to check the name of the comedian, and he instantly became my new fav. He still is 15 yrs later. Second fav is Mitch Hedberg.
My friends and I put in a bunch of money into the jukebox at Shakey’s pizza and played over and over The Beatles “You Know My Name (Look Up The Number”. lol. This was back in the late 70s. I doubt if any jukebox in any country has that song in it.
John Mulaney won 3 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics - Saturday Night Live: Host: Justin Timberlake: Justin Timberlake Monologue, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special - John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous at Radio City and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special - John Mulaney: Baby J.
I dearly love the Salt and Pepper Diner. And I have a hunch that it really is true. Lol _As an aside, if you haven't heard Tom Jones perform Prince's_ Purple Rain, _I encourage you to check it out._

It's intriguing that there's this one young woman in the front row near center who never claps, at least after his Trump material, and didn't stand up for the pretty general ovation. Maybe she was dragged there by a companion. Can't please everyone as a comic...
i don't know why people say women can't do comedy. asian women are clearly hilarious.
As an Asian woman, I approve this message lol
True Mulaney fan 😂
especially proud asian women! 😅
🤣🤣🤣
Tiger Mom!
This child comedian is such a good story-teller.
He’s a good one till this day
I had to check, and (at the risk of ruining your joke) he was 26 when this was recorded.
@@mattgiesyes, however, “I’M A LITTLE BOY “
although he dresses like a squeegee guy
He looks 16.
He looks like he runs the glee club
lol this is so true
So he is the flash? Because I've never seen glee, but I know Grant Gustin was on it and he's the flash. This is Grant Gustin, no?
HELP ME WHY IS THIS ACCURATE
Boy, do I have news for you.
6:25 to his credit “n then I’ll run for president” is definitely the natural next step for that homeless gentleman

Nailed the censorship there
They were beeping out the “hole” part of the word.
For some reason the “hole” part is the offensive part, it’s been like that since censorship was a thing
@@gabrielthefallen I’ve always wondered why they do that.
Pre-suit-wearing John's underrated. I love all these bits. He's great. 😁👍
Sexy for a white boy
Man, watching these old John Mulaney bits in 2024 is surreal. 😆
He’s so young
why?
@@GooseGumlizzard talking about trump pre presidency...
So happy I’m not the only one 😂
@GooseGumlizzard he's been divorced and went through rehab for his coke addiction
I think John meant to say the Salt ... and PEPPPAAA! Diner
😂 I love you
Good job smith
It's awesome that Comedy Central puts out these older specials every so often. Look at that young face!
As opposed to now with the somehow younger face😂
@michaeldillinger8723 Ahh that man and his reverse aging syndrome
the salt n pepper diner will be in comedy textbooks stg
@robertnope1993it closed in 2013, but you can still see the sign… now is the jukebox still in there!? That’s the mystery.
@@heyelliewYes, and it's still playing What's New, Pussycat?
"Comedy textbooks"? Comedians read?
@@heyelliewsome say it still plays What’s New Pussycat to this day. Even through the night..
No no. Not comedy textbooks.
CIA torture manuals.
I can’t believe this special is 15 years old.
i cant believe new in town is 12 years old, the special i first discovered of his.
You shouldn't call him special. He's just neuro-divergent.
You didn’t have to make me feel old, damn
I can’t believe he looks like he’s 15 years old.

At 11, already hysterical.
The Trump bit aged really well.
'A hobo's idea of a millionaire', indeed.
😂
A lot of the bits are still relevant, brilliant comedy
Trump has always been a joke.😁

I've seen this a dozen times or more, yet the second this came up in my notifications I clicked on it!
My favorite Asian American female comedian.
That’s the funniest comment cuz not everybody will get it
Wow they only let 15 years go by before they released it to the public for free very generous of comedy Central
Oh no, I’ve seen it pop up many times!
Listening to it on pandora for years
"free" im paying $15 a month, youre paying with micro-invasions of your privacy.
@ what on earth are you talking about?
He didn't get into his best part of Law & Order bit. The dumbfounded Ice -T as Special Units genius.
That came a bit later in his career but yes!
You're thinking of New in Town which got uploaded a couple days after this! :D
John Mulaney needs to host SNL again...
They'll just think he's there for another haircut
It's weird to see him not wearing a suit.
❤️ Love that the Johns played the song "What's NEW Pussycat" so many times that everyone knew it WAS NOT NEW! ❤️
This kid’s got potential
So you haven’t seen his recent specials? Lol he went places
Thumbnail follow-up, "...but it's GREAT at cocaine!" ah how can you hate on this guy, he's way too charming and polite.
It's crazy to think this little dude was doing MAAAAD drugs and probably high during this

Since it's the B-side to "Let It Be", any jukebox still spinning vinyl might have it.
