I went with a synthetic pillow from Dutchware gear that is actually lighter at 2oz and washable. I don't imagine down would respond well to drool, sweat, and condensation from breathing all night. Probably start to smell like a chicken coop after a while lol
I just use an old Sierra design down jacket that the zipper broke on it as a pillow. Plus I wear it around a fire carelessly and leave my good down jacket for when I really need it.

Well yea, but it's a pain. I wash my quilts once a year if that, depending on how much I use them and I don't look forward to it.
