I went through this shortly after it opened. The transporter effect blew me away and I had an emotional reaction walking down the corridor of the Enterprise to the Bridge. In 1999, I arranged to lead a scenario planning workshop in which my customers went through The Experience, so they could see what teamwork and emergency problem solving looked like in Star Trek's future. They loved it and were inspired to want that kind of corporate culture in their own organizations. This is the power of Star Trek... to want us to have today what's in Star Trek's future. I hope Star Trek: Picard and the other new Star Trek shows inspire people to want the same kind of equality, honesty, and positive purpose in today's world Star Trek has always been known for. And I hope a new version of Star Trek: The Experience is built some day!

This video takes me back. I go to Las Vegas every year and in my earlier years going there, I went to Star Trek The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton. The first year I went they would take your picture and put it in one of the Star Trek bridge pictures (I picked DS9) and you could either pay for this photo or if you applied for the Star Trek credit card, you would get the photo for free. The next time I went to this attraction, they added the Borg experience. That year, I purchased a behind the scene pass which included the both rides as well as an explanation of what happens behind the scenes. I went to the Klingon Encounter first and then because my friends didn't purchase the same pass as me, they lined up for the Borg experience while I waited for the "behind the scenes" tour. This took longer than expected and when it finished, I tried to get into the Borg experience but they closed. Luckily, the guide for the "behind the scenes" spoke with his manager/supervisor and his manager/supervisor asked me if it was my final day in Las Vegas and I said it wasn't. He then offered me a ticket to come back for the Klingon Encounter and the Borg Experience which I gladly accepted. Also, everyone who took the "behind the scenes" pass received a personalized certificate which I still have and got it laminated The one thing missing from this video was the "news broadcast" that happens at the end. As you exit the flight simulation area, you wait in a hallway where there is a television playing a news report of a UFO battle over the skies of Las Vegas (which so happened to be of the Klingon battle). The actor for the US air force then mentions it was a weather balloon.
This took me back. I was in my mid 20's when this first came out. I went 3 times for this ride over the years & 2 for the Borg. Sad that both are gone.
I can honestly say - I thought I would never see what Star Trek: The Experience was about. I've been a fan since forever but never got the chance to visit LV, let alone Star Trek The Experience. Now, in 2022 I can say I have an idea. Thank you Dannysonic Puppy for posting uploading this video.
God I miss this ... growing up in vegas I actually went pretty often with my dad. Everything about the experience was great. The transporter blew me away and I still don’t know how it worked THE DAMN FLOOR CHANGED. like a lot of people standing on that bridge was a huge experience for me. After it closed they sold off so much of it out of a ware house. Picard seat was only $600 I couldn’t afford that and settled for a uniform . And I still think about the food at quarks to this day. Wish they would bring it back
CorrosiveMind1O3 I actually know exactly how the transporter worked. I took a tour behind the scenes and they showed us the transporter with the lights on. It’s unbelievable, when the lights go out, The top of the room actually lifts up like on a crane and moves off to the side and down out of sight to reveal another room. That’s why you feel the wind it’s because of the section of the room being looked it up. The floor lights do change but the floor remains the same. I was more amazed once I knew the trick than before.
Yeah I was stunned the first time on the ride. The other reply is correct. On the behind the scenes tour they show what happens. The edges of the room are lifted up so fast and then the roof for the transporter room slides across in like three seconds. It’s amazing to see.
Here's a video of the behind the scenes tour that shows how it works: th-cam.com/video/RXcq5C_yAQc/w-d-xo.html It was cool to see this since I rode it but never got a chance to do the tour.
TNG has always been my absolute favorite of the Trek shows, so experiencing this ride was just awe inspiring. At the end when they’re taking your group back to the present, and Picard speaks to your group, I remember shouting “Noooo please take me back with you!!” Everyone else cracked up 😆
Experienced this when I was 12 in 2002. 10:40-11:33 was the coolest thing I'd ever seen, and only in person could you really feel it. Sucks that they closed it down but the memory will stay pure in my head.

My favorite part of this is that it establishes that in Star Trek, Starfleet officers and Ferengi Daimons randomly contact you via subspace to ask you weird questions
I remember going on this as a kid during the day and the ending scene with the Enterprise blasting the Klingons out of the sky over Las Vegas at night just totally killed the suspension of disbelief when I then walked outside into the daylight with the sun beating down overhead. Still it was great.
I never knew this existed, I was just a little kid. It's funny to think that if Grandpa had ever gotten his way, and took the family to Vegas, I may have been able to do this lol. He took me to Disney world though, and around this time period they had a similar kind of ride at MGM. It was another of those things where they put a bunch of people in a mechanized room, and shake everyone up while they watch a screen, except this one was a Star Wars X-wing ride. I've always liked Trek more than Star Wars.... I would have preferred this, even as a kid.
Admiral’s log stardate:_________. Its surprising to see a Klingon wanting to change the future. The kitomir peace treaty has been good to the Klingons. Some extreme factions think it’s not. This one incidents. That have flared up. Starfleet Command assured me this is only one. This makes me feel uneasy. By the time I retire. This unrest will be over. This should noted in this admiral’s log.
The biggest Shame is that this is all gone. Not just the experience, but the entire franchise itself. This wasn't supposed to end. TNG should not have canceled after 7 seasons. Rick Berman shouldn't have been fired either. It's insane to see STD get more seasons than enterprise. I definitely moss the 90s Era with CD roms, VHS, and all of the shows. I find today's star trek unwatchable. I went to Vegas when they already took down the rides, but I got to see the D-bridge, quarks bar, and the basic tour.
My Dad first took me to see it and I think we went a total of probably three times and I had a blast each time. I've never had the opportunity to visit the actual venue since it closed to see the leftovers, but would like to so I can say that I was there.
I have to say, watching this makes me wished I knew about this attraction while it was running. This is how you keep fans happy and excited! Take a lesson from this Disney and re think your marketing and logistics better, instead of charging 4-6 grand for a 2 days of Pokémon Go like games, card games and playing with rocks in a makeshift garden.
There is a new park Universal Studios is setting up in Florida(right down the street from Disneyworld XD) and judging from the map concept one section of the park one of the sections looks suspiciously like Star Trek, the other being Nintendo.
