I love how the fifth book emphasizes that there are lots of prophecies that aren’t fulfilled, in which people don’t have to act on them and make them come true. Not only do I think it’s a nice and unique element on the usual prophecy theme, but it emphasizes Voldemort’s character as someone threatened by a baby. He was foolish enough to think someone could oppose him when in reality there was nothing special about Harry, only because he marked him as his equal. He fulfilled his own prophecy when he thought he was fixing it.
That tends to be the theme in many prophecies. I love the line from Kung Fu Panda that says "One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it" many prophecies are put into motion because the person put action into stopping it.

It's weird that how Neville also had all the traits needed in the prophecy and how he also could have been the chosen one but still Voldemort didn't even knew his name... In the last part of the series when Voldemort comes to Hogwarts and everybody thinks that Harry is dead, then Neville comes forward and Voldemort asks him his name and laughs at him... So this is quite surprising that Voldemort doesn't even know the name of such a person who could also have been the chosen one and who could have kill him.

Because he doesn't care that much about blood status, believe it or not. He says he's a Pureblood to attract Purebloods and make them his servants. He's smart enough to know that if you're a powerful witch/wizard, you're a power witch/wizard and your blood status doesn't matter. He believes that Muggles are below him, not Muggleborns. And in all honesty Muggleborns/Half-Bloods are far more dangerous then Purebloods, because they know everything about both worlds by the time they're 17, while a Muggle doesn't even know the Wizarding World exists and Purebloods are completely clueless when it comes to Muggle World.
Strange how harry is the first and only example of someone surving the killing curse. Surely, people in the past had sacrificed themselves for others so why hadn't others been protected in the same way before 1997? 🤔
It's possible that the person who survived was immediately shot again. Either by someone else or the same person who cast the killing-curse in the first place. If it was the original-caster, they avoided the killing-curse rebound.
Snape pleaded Voldemort not to kill Lily, so, probably, unlike James and other witches/wizards who tried to use it, Lily had been given a chance to step aside and save herself, but because she refused to do so and instead, sacrificed herself, the protection became effective.
That's because the parents would of fighted back because they may be in the possession of a wand; which lily did not have. Due to snapes love for lily and wanting to protect her, he asked voldymoldy for one thing... to spare lily's life. Voldymoldy gave the chance to lily, which she declined the offer because she wanted to protect harry. Voldynose then got annoyed and killed her. Her love for harry was extremly strong that night and it was enough to protect him. Other parents or guardians or people they love would have fought back, which does not give the protection to that Pacific person; lily didn't fight back, she PROTECTED harry. Which is why James's sacrifice did not work because he was FIGHTING not protecting.
actually snape and volly had a deal. volly promised snape that he won't kill lily and lied, that's one of the reasons why he broke apart and harry survived, love protection + volly's promimse to snape that he violated
Neville wasn't the chosen one, and the only reason why is the "and the dark lord would choose him as his equal" line. Harry was a half blood just like Tom, while Neville was a pure blood. So only Harry could've been an equal with Voldemort in every sense.
I just wanna say that I love HP and I love Star wars and you make AWESOME videos about them. Love your videos bro. Hope this channels gets the attention it deserves.
Wait that means snape killed the potters. If snape would of never overheard than Voldemort would of never known and James and lily would still be alive. Wow. And he was sad after Lily’s death he is the one who caused it
Mariana Morales But voldemort would have killed more and more people, especially muggles, taking over the world. Snape went for lord voldemort probably because incidences of James and Lily
Snape requested Voldemort to just kill James & Harry but spare Lily. In the beginning, Voldemort tried to spare her but being a mother, she didn't allow Voldy to hurt her son and hence he killed her. Snape at that point of time was a Death Eater only. It was after this incident that he switched his allegiance. Movie Snape (Alan Rickman) immortalized the character but in fact Book Snape was really really bad in the beginning.
In a way yes, but it wasn't his intention for it to happen. He only heard about one part of the prophecy where it describes a child being born (who could vanquish the dark lord) as the seventh month ends. Snape, having no idea that it was meaning the potters (or the longbottoms)went to voldyface and told him about it. Snape soon found out that the prophecy meant the potters. But unfortunately, he has already told voldermort about it so they were in danger. Snape begged voldermort to spare lily, which voldermort agreed to do; although snape did not think voldermort was actually agreeing to it, so he went to the one person who could save them... Dumbledore. Snape asked Dumbledore to save lily not even caring about harry or james, and from then on he was on Dumbledore's side. Unfortunately peter betrayed the potters, which ended in there death. But voldymoldy did give lily the chance to protect herself, but she wanted to protect harry.
I think both boys together destroyed Voldemort. In the final war, when Voldemort said Harry was dead, many of them lost courage, but Neville stood out to encourage them and said the war hasn't stopped. And he killed Nagini, the last horcux, it's very crucial. It helped Harry to kill Voldemort
Your literally the best! Whenever I don’t understand something about Harry Potter I always come to your channel and it’s so helpful. Keep making great content :)
I have a good question. WHen voldy killed Harry, he did it with the elder wand right? but why the elder wand backfire the second time? it makes no sense
Because the elder wand would have backfired at him, but it found in harry's body somthing that wasn't actually of harry. That thing was part of voldemort soul. So, the elder wand killed that "stranger" thing and left harry's body untouched, and didn't backfire at voldemort because it was *already* killing voldemort.
Technically ir wasn't the wand that back fired. I think that voldamorts killing curs rebounded off of Harry's disarming spell. In the book they cast their spells at the same time and book mentions a flash of gold light where the spells collided. I believe that is what killd voldamort.
MovieFlame! MovieFlame! MovieFlame! How many times have I called you????? 👂👂👂I was over my Harry Potter obsession but your awesome videos dragged me back in!!!!!!
Could it be that the prophecy part which says ''HE WILL HAVE THE POWER THE DARK LORD KNOWS NOT" would be referring to the fact that harry himself was a horcrux and bcz of that he has power to sense voldemort and look in his mind which helped him to find horcruxes, destroy them and eventually defeat voldemort...... and voldemort doesnt know about this power of harry
That's a good point. But how would we know that Neville couldn't have the same thing as Harry? If Voldemort had gone to Neville's parents instead, how do we know that the same series of events wouldn't have happened too? Only Neville's mum would have protected him and then he would have been a Horcrux. It didn't say that the Horcrux thing would happen, only the child would have a power Voldemort didn't know of, and seeing as how he actually made that happen, I think the same thing would have happened to Neville
Tasia Reed sorry but I think not. The only reason why Harry survived is because his Mother GAVE her life to save him. That was only because Snape begged Voldemort to spare Lily and do not harm her. He killed her only because she didn't want to leave, and that made the prophecy "turn on". If Voldemort would choose Neville - he would just come and kill everyone in the house. He gave Lily a choice and she chose to die, I don't think he would have give the same choice to Neville's Mother.
Amit Singh In the book, Harry was never actually able to sense Horcruxes. He never sensed that there was a Horcrux in Grimmauld Place or that the diary was a Horcrux. That was something that they added in the movies because they skipped most of Voldemort origins from the penseive and never explained how Harry would recognize Voldemort's Horcruxes.
Theory: had Voldemort heard the WHOLE prophecy, he could have simply said “a child that I mark as my equal? Nobody is my equal.” And either left both Harry and Neville alone, or sent his death eaters to kill them both meaning he’d mark no one has his equal and he could never be defeated
Good theory however Dumbeldore explained Voldemort was always on the lookout for a challenger. His fear of death wouldn't have allowed him to ignore or take the prophecy lightly
Honestly, I was never really into HP that much. But I just stumbled upon your videos, and man they've made me much more interested than I was before. The books sound way better than the movies. I loved harry potter since I was a fifth grader but I was really bad at reading books at the time. I’m now 19 when I read all of them at ease, and I came very late to this amazing world. You’re not alone 😅
I think the way you're supposed to interpret "neither can live while the other survives" is the exact way it is portrayed in the books and movies. Voldemort has to kill Harry - and the Horcrux in him - in order to kill Voldemort for good. Harry does technically die in book seven, if only for a moment. But yes, I really do like the idea of Harry not being able to die and be The Boy Who Lived Forever. That would be a really interesting story.
Yo i saw on a wiki thing that harry potter is probably a descendant of one of the 3 brothers that went up against "Death" and i think they said it was "Ignotus Peverell" can you make a story thingy about that?...They Also said that "Tom Riddle" is Harry's distant causin. Can you also make a story thingy about that and how it is possible?
about Harry being a distant relative of Riddle...well, James was a pureblood, and most pureblood families are related...even if some of their members are blasted off their family trees like Sirius' family has done... and there's also that Peverell lineage...
Yes! And why Snape came back to the good side? Because of love. And he was one of the most important characters to cause Voldemorts death. Love was the only power more powerful than dark magic.

I think the entire Harry Potter stoty boils down to family friendship love are the most powerful form of magic. So powerful that even evil can't erase them.
Harry was the chosen one as he himself was the Horcrux Voldemort never meant to make. However, Neville was the chosen one as he defeated Voldemort by killing Nigini (the last Horcrux). So, that means Neville was the hero who defeated Moldy Voldy and Harry was a Horcrux. Both of them had pure love and strength as Neville found his true Gryffindor heart. They were both the chosen one, but for different reasons.
Naaah Harry is the one who killed voldy You see after nagini death Voldemort didn’t die He only became mortal again meaning that if someone killed him this time by any means he is gone forever And the one who did was Harry By rebounding Voldemort own killing spell against him Also Harry meets all the requirements of the prophecy while Neville only meets one
I like to think that, at the time harry holds the resurection stone, he understands he is not giving away his life, but his death. he will never be able to die, so he will never see his family and friends again. its a great theory and maks harry even more deep
Neville was never the chosen one. And the line " and the Dark lord shall choose him as his equal " proves this. Harry was a half blood just like Tom, while Neville was a pure blood. So only Harry could've been equal to Voldemort in every sense.
Arguably one of the greatest gifts Dumbledore ever gave Harry was this: When Harry quotes the prophecy one too many times Dumbledore tells him that even genuine prophecies told by genuine seers are at worst bullshit and at best self full-filling, if Voldemort hadn’t heard the prophecy in the first place he wouldn’t have gone to kill Harry and wouldn’t have fallen for the first time and now be obsessed with killing him now, Harry was going to have to fight him, but NOT because of the prophecy but because Voldemort would never stop trying to kill him and Harry would not stop trying to avenge his family and protect his friends, Harry feels much better about this and describes it as “being the difference between being dragged into an arena against one’s will and walking in on his own” HE WASN’T A HERO BECAUSE HE WAS THE CHOSEN ONE, HE WAS THE CHOSEN ONE BECAUSE HE WAS A HERO Terrence of Ravenclaw House, Lost in Adaptation Harry Potterathon Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review

Did you not read the book? Harry literally tells Voldy that he gave them the protection.

Imagine if the prophecy was about neville.
**Neville Longbottom and the Philosophers Stone**
Neville Longbottom and the Chamber of Secrets
Neville longbottom and the prisoner of Azkaban
Neville Longbottom and the Order of Phoenix
Neville longbottom and the deathly hallows
Would have been a great twist tho. Everybody's focusing on Harry, not knowing Neville would have been the one to kill the Dark Lord.
I cant imagine all the hard work put into these videos
BTW I was wondering if you could do a video about Draco Malfoy and his life. Please make this your next video becuase I really want to know a bit more about him
thanks! and I have him on my list of videos to make for sure so you'll def see it in the near future!
MovieFlame Productions Thankyou so much keep up the good work. I'm really enjoying your videos
Hey man, thanks to your videos, I decided to buy the Harry potter books collection, and it's probably the best thing I have ever bought, some might say that I'm exaggerating but I can happily say 'no,I'm not'
You can't imagine how thankful I'm for every video you upload, and I'm sure that I'm not the only felling this.
Thank you soooooo much and please keep up making videos and I'm sure you reach 1million subscriber in no time.

Thanks so much man that means a lot that i actually got you to invest in the series! Thanks for the support and more videos are on the way! :)
MovieFlame Productions I love your vids soo much you got my sub🌹
Mohammed Hasan If this is going to be your first time reading the books, stop watching these videos until you've finished the series!
Even if you've seen the movies, there is so much more in the books that I think you'll enjoy a lot more reading them as you go along opposed to hearing things in a video first.
If you've already read the books and just bought the set for re-reads then ignore that I said anything.
Either way, enjoy! I have the full series too and I love being able to come back to it whenever I feel like it.
Mohammed Hasan hey man order of the ohoenix book is really good and I decided to order it for my birthday
Mohammed Hasan eyy! That's what's up! Good to hear you enjoyed the books. I watched the movies and bought the books after and now they are in a glass case along with the movies and poster. I love this story and how in depth it is.
You should do a video about the history for the Long Bottoms, specifically Nevilles parents and Neville

Good idea Alex!
I’m born on the same day as Harry (31st of July), which means the prophecy could be about me as well😂. Dodged a bullit there (or should I say ‘an Avada Kedavra curse’)
i just want more harry potter videos. I certainly like the ones where you discuss individuals' births to their deaths. please make more of those. and trust with the awesome content you put up, people will subscribe and like your videos
I love your Harry Potter vids!!! Please carry on!!!
why would voldemort want to recruit lily when she's muggle born?
Omg that’s so true
The fact that she is intelligent and that he cannot admit but knows deep down inside that he is half blood
Exactly, Voldemort saw what his uncle was as he's so pureblood he could speak human language, just parseltongue.
lol yeah
“Nevile Longbottom, the boy who lived... come to die”
I thinks it’s because Lily didn’t fight back but other parents would, not putting a protection on their kid
Just imagine the whole series called neville longbottom...
neville longbottom and the chamber of secrets lol

Neville wasn't the chosen one, and the only reason why is the "and the dark lord would choose him as his equal" line.
Harry was a half blood just like Tom, while Neville was a pure blood. So only Harry could've been an equal with Voldemort in every sense.
the music in your videos makes all the difference! I’m legit nearly crying 😂
If you think about it its Snapes fault Lily and James died he told Voldemort about the Prophecy
Well technically yes but the potters would have been fine, if Peter Pettigrew didn’t *rat* them so half snapes fault half Pettigrew’s fault
@@So_Indecisive If it's half Snape's fault and half Pettigrew's fault, that means Voldemort is 0% to blame for Lily and James' death

Greetings from the Netherlands
Cool
I think both boys together destroyed Voldemort. In the final war, when Voldemort said Harry was dead, many of them lost courage, but Neville stood out to encourage them and said the war hasn't stopped. And he killed Nagini, the last horcux, it's very crucial. It helped Harry to kill Voldemort
The music gets me every time :'(

Clicked in and thumbs up as soon as I saw Harry Potter. Thanks for the high-quality HP marathon!
Because Harry was the master of death meaning the wand is his so I think that’s why the wand backfired
Technically ir wasn't the wand that back fired. I think that voldamorts killing curs rebounded off of Harry's disarming spell. In the book they cast their spells at the same time and book mentions a flash of gold light where the spells collided. I believe that is what killd voldamort.
he was the master of the elder wand
Nagini mayb?
Why doesn't he have more subscribers???!! His Explanations/Theories are absolutely AMAZING!

How many times have I called you????? 👂👂👂I was over my Harry Potter obsession but your awesome videos dragged me back in!!!!!!
Could it be that the prophecy part which says ''HE WILL HAVE THE POWER THE DARK LORD KNOWS NOT" would be referring to the fact that harry himself was a horcrux and bcz of that he has power to sense voldemort and look in his mind which helped him to find horcruxes, destroy them and eventually defeat voldemort...... and voldemort doesnt know about this power of harry
good thought
Amit Singh it means the power of love.
love your videos you explain everything so well, not like other people who take forever to explain. keep the videos going. just subscribed
Once again, I liked it before I even watched it!
I love that both Harry and Neville took part in ending Voldemort with Neville killing one of the horcruxes.
1:25 BAHAHHHAHA SNAPE JUST EMERGING FROM BEHIND THE DOOR IS HILARIOUS
Honestly, I was never really into HP that much. But I just stumbled upon your videos, and man they've made me much more interested than I was before. The books sound way better than the movies. I loved harry potter since I was a fifth grader but I was really bad at reading books at the time. I’m now 19 when I read all of them at ease, and I came very late to this amazing world. You’re not alone 😅
I love your videos, they make me feel even deeper emotions connected to the story and characters, keep up the excellent work!

And the power of love saved him a second time. Narcissa's love for Draco and the lie she told after she found out her son was alive.

I think he chose Harry because it said he will mark him as his equal and Harry and Vol are both half bloods
Naaah
Harry is the one who killed voldy
You see after nagini death Voldemort didn’t die
He only became mortal again meaning that if someone killed him this time by any means he is gone forever
And the one who did was Harry
By rebounding Voldemort own killing spell against him
Also Harry meets all the requirements of the prophecy while Neville only meets one
How did Voldemort mark Neville?
I like to think that, at the time harry holds the resurection stone, he understands he is not giving away his life, but his death. he will never be able to die, so he will never see his family and friends again. its a great theory and maks harry even more deep

Love these videos! Have seen a bunch of your Harry Potter videos now. Your such a great storyteller. You're making me love Harry Potter even more.
Arguably one of the greatest gifts Dumbledore ever gave Harry was this:
When Harry quotes the prophecy one too many times Dumbledore tells him that even genuine prophecies told by genuine seers are at worst bullshit and at best self full-filling, if Voldemort hadn’t heard the prophecy in the first place he wouldn’t have gone to kill Harry and wouldn’t have fallen for the first time and now be obsessed with killing him now, Harry was going to have to fight him, but NOT because of the prophecy but because Voldemort would never stop trying to kill him and Harry would not stop trying to avenge his family and protect his friends, Harry feels much better about this and describes it as “being the difference between being dragged into an arena against one’s will and walking in on his own” HE WASN’T A HERO BECAUSE HE WAS THE CHOSEN ONE, HE WAS THE CHOSEN ONE BECAUSE HE WAS A HERO
