This short film was made by college students with an extremely low budget. It was not made for festivals, public release etc only for one of their college pieces.
Please be aware of that before making negative comments regarding pieces of set, equipment and so on.
The true art of making art is by doing so even with limited means, I personally feel these guys did a great job considering the circumstances it was made for.

I understand students on a budget. Acting and set are fine.
however, any story needs a good script but here there wasn't one.
I have read Asimov's 3 Laws of Robotics. He cleverly left them ambiguous to allow him to write all the robot stories.
in this story, the laws would appear to relate to having proper training for ships captains including measures to reject people who can't cope in a crisis.
If he intention of the story is to show that the robot acted more humanely while the captain acted more like a machine, the point taken but at the expense of believability..
don't stop trying. My first point stands.

At first, when I saw the mixer and drum machine, I thought this was going to be a music video lol. Then realized it wasn't, and thought how clever a idea to use them as props in a Sci-Fi setting like this.

VERY WELL DONE IN CREATING AN EXCELLENT PARADIGM AND DICHOTOMY COMBINED. SIMPLY BRILLIANT.
BASED ON WHAT THE MAN WAS SAYING. I ALSO FELT THE POSSIBILITY, OR SENSED, THE VERY SIGNAL THE AI CHOSE TO FOLLOW WAS THEIR VERY OWN, THE MAN, MADE AT THE END. REGARDLESS OF THE SET, THE STORY WAS GREAT.
I WOULD LOOK FORWARD TO MORE AND THE GROWTH OF YOUR PRODUCTIONS. YOU GUYS BOTH NAILED YOUR CHARACTER ROLES.

The moment the Human was struck back to allow the 'Robot' to proceed with it's own version of Protocol, was also the moment the 'Laws' were violated. So now are we to assume that AI and consciousness is Binary or programmed at the factory. More puzzled than ever. Well done, Android Arnold!

good result with the low budget and a set that gave enough context to the story - feels like there is a small script transition/scene missing between the push back by arnold and somethign happening to the ship...the time loop /message bouncing around was understandable but the cause didn't have a clear reason - PS I teach design at university so understand your constraints...a bit of friendly constructive criticism...well done.

There is always someone who has to post something negative.
I thought this film was very well done and very creative for what they had to work with. I found this more enjoyable than most of the CGI Marvel films.
Good plot and moral lesson at the end:
The one life you save may be the one who saves millions.
      Or even:
The life you save may be your own.
      👏👏

I loved the ending! I always love a good twist. And I like the little touches in the film, the bonsai tree, and how there was duck tape on the monitors suggesting it was an old beat up ship. The only thing I didn't get, what were the Laws? Oh wait, is it the 3 Laws of Robotics. That would explain Arnold's behavior. I think they should add on a fourth law, Spock's Law: The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, or the one. Anyway it was a great story.

@@Z-Diode Sir, you cannot speak for me, or anyone else for that matter in such a situation. You can only speak for yourself. Have you never heard of a soldier that has given their life (such as jumping on a grenade) to save his fellow soldiers? Or of anyone that has chosen death to save the lives of many? I recently read how a Young girl pushed away two children off the rode as a car was approaching them. And lost her own life in the end. This Young girl didn't even know these twins whose lives she gave her life for. Thus Sir, in the end, you can only speak for yourself and not others.
