$5.38 for 91 octane..... good grief, i thought it was bad in NY. premium gas is $4.50, but i go to the reservation and i paid $3.60. i take 9 cans enough to last almost a month. my toy is a 2003 bonneville SSEi 3800 supercharged L67. i know it's nothing compared to what you have here, but it's a fun older car. it's quick and the gas mileage isnt horrible. it requires premium. the car isnt entirely stock either. PCM tune, power log, 160 thermostat, cold air intake and a pulley swap. makes around 9 PSI of boost

Loved that vid! You guys are a fantastic couple and Liv you handled that 300 ?!? like a pro. I'm fairly new to y'all's channel so pardon me but, very nice build Danny. What was you your cam selection for that build and is it carbed or FI? (Sorry finished watching the vid... Fi it is) If it's in a vid I can check that out. I have an '05 6.0 with 3.2k miles on it that I bought for a project and didn't use it for that project (Fiero). I want to do a gen IV Camaro build with it with twin turbos. The older stuff is just out of site so I'm takin Tony D's advice to go for the "new" muscle car selection that is more affordable. BTW my neighbor has a '69 Z28 that he and is brother bought when he was in high school (so it was affordable way back then)... Keep up the riveting vids with your cool builds, makes great viewing..

Wow. How much does a Z28 cost in USA? I watched for my country (germany) and it is about 119,000 € which is aprox. 130,000 US$. o.O I thought it's an old car and has to be cheap but thats not the case.

All (most) European, and the rest of the world pretty much, cars have a handbrake. Handbrakes make for easy hill starts and gives the driver much more control. Couldn’t you fit a handbrake to your manual cars?

no way was it a injector unplugged. the skip would have been horrendous, and you would have known instantly when you started it. do you have any idea how many cars drive around with a bad injector> they would all lose a piston if that were true. Whoever told you it was the injector is wrong needs to go to engine school . There are only two things that can cause a NEW piston to have fin scraping. TWO. I am talking about a NEW piston not a motor with many miles on it. Either a defective piston where the fins are too thin by a bad mold pour. OR the compression rings are too tight causing the piston to rock when rod direction changes. i.e. when piston reaches top of cylinder or bottom of cylinder and the rod reverses direction, the over tight rings at the top of the piston CAUSE the piston base to rock and slap the cylinder walls. You did not have over tight rings which is clear from the compression rings having more than enough end clearance . so it was defective piston fins. Nop, Defective piston

Idk, I've disconnected injectors and drove several miles when I had a miss on that cylinder. With correct rings an hone there should be a film of oil for hydrodynamic lubrication for the rings and skirt to glide on. If it was boosted with intermittent injector pulse that would melt the top of the piston instead of just heating the lower piston to the point of no clearance, NA would just be a miss and ive never seen a NA lean condition heat a piston beyond clearance. No damage to the top of the piston just the lower or skirts I would be concerned there wasn't enough piston to wall clearance and would make sure there was enough the second time around. Just my opinion

Big smile, here. Before you know it, you're gonna be bang-shifting just like Mr. Dulcich! I got over my stick-jitters the hard way - by learning how to drive a White Freightliner Columbia. We're talking a 12 speed, split-stick "monster." It took me all of 20 minutes to get the hang of the full pattern [including a risky jump from 8th down to 4th gear} - my instructor was very impressed with the way I kept my cool, even during the crazy sh*t he constantly had me do. He bet me a steak dinner I couldn't take off on a 6% grade without stalling {6%, think Nob Hill in San Francisco, or Mulholland in LA}. I won the steak dinner, and blew his mind 'cos I took off in THIRD GEAR, just as smooth as glass. By the time I got my CDL, I was rat-racing with every Kenworth and Peterbilt I could find - the Columbias my new employer owned all had the top-dog, 750-horse Cummins under the bonnet!! I mean, you just haven't lived until you've done an 8-wheel peel........😎

I have never seen a piston do that because of it being a bit lean even under load, that would cause damage to the top of the piston not the skirt. I would look at a bit harder at this issue and look into lack of oil on that . also inspect the head to see if it got hot there as well. what i can see the heads looked fine. again i don't agree that it was because of the injector a bit loose. you would of felt that or herd that cly missing. just my 50 years talking and i have seen strange things in racer engines

I learned to drive a manual transmission at age 14 in a field in my dad's 1978 Ford 150 4x4 with a 300 ci inline six! I was nervous but my dad was very patient and told me that once you learn to drive a manual you can almost drive anything!
