Thank you so much for this video. Armed with the official instructions from Ford and your video I just replaced my first clutch. :) My daugther's Ford StreetKa is pretty similar - there is an additional bracket under the car that has to be removed to get the drive shaft out. Removing the cable from the starter was also a pain - anybody that thinks that there is little room in a classic Mini should take a look at a Ford StreetKa.... All in all it took me three evenings in the garage - including changing the brakes and front shocks. During this I wished countless times that you offered your service in Germany ;) Oh - a note for anybody trying this as well: Make sure to jack the car high enough if you want to drop the gearbox on your belly like Kevin-Albert is doing it. Also make sure to not to have too much distance between you and the gearbox. It can hurt quite a bit. I would say that is for the more experienced... For lifting is back I ended up laying a 2x4 beam on top of the engine bay. With a small pulley I lifted it up , secured it and then went under the car to fiddle it in place. If I need to do this again I would also lower it down this way.
The amount of faith you have in those jack stands 😂 I know this is a couple years later but I gotta remove my gearbox and this video is priceless.. thank you!

There is a hex on the box facing forward fill the box from there while the car is level keep filling till oil starts to come out and its approx 2.8 litres.
I don't see women or girls, doing this... When ? They wanna be men right, same pay, same this, that ... Great job and clutch replacement video. Superb.
How do you drain the gearbox oil?? I do not think there is a drain plug on mine. I could do without getting covered in oil when i pull the shafts out..

When i press to light switch with my hand, it is working. But, after assembly it is not working. Can it fixable without disassembly to gearbox? Do u have any idea about it? Thanks a lot
Mert Hatemoglu sometimes the little plunger inside the switch gets a bit worn and don’t quite make contact with the selector. I’d start by replacing the switch first.

My gearbox selector (the thing that connects to the shift linkage) won't come out of the gearbox... i have some gear stuck and can't move the shift knob. Got any advice?

I just changed both front wishbones and ball joints recently. Few weeks after the car has regular RPM but very slow acceleration, like the brakes are on. If it’s the clutch I’m scrapping it 🤦♂️
Ahh I get it, it’s the whole clutch and not the clutch discs where you need a clutch alignment tool. It’s a great video btw. I’ve got a ka and I’ve done loads of work on it,welded both sills and wheel arches, apart from the rust they are good little runabouts. Nice 👍
Peter Jones very true the do suffer from the old rust they do. I don’t show actual clutch mounting as if someone gets it wrong then it’s not good. But there’s plenty of video how to mount a clutch. Thanks for your feedback

Hi Fabio ., usually I replace like for like. Whatever the manufacturer recommends that’s what I use. Hope your repair goes well 🍻

Any ideas about changing clutch and brake oil? Pedal clutch doesn't work, maybe the O-ring or there's too much air in the circuit.
