THX a lot Farmer Klein! You just made my day!!! I could not understand why the folder was installed on my C-drive when I install the game on my G-drive. Thought I missed something when I installed it, so re-installed several times and even wrote to Giants support asking what to do! 😂 BR Bossen
I wish I knew how to do that on my last computer. Between Farming Sim mods and Flight Sim mods it really had my old computer hd stuffed. I just built this pc, (2) 4tb NvMe M.2's. But I saved this to my computer games list for farther use. Thank you for making this video.
Followed your advice on this in 22, I need to get this done ASAP before I have TeraByte of mods to move Ha Ha! . Already got 60 In less than five days, Iam going try to more conservative this time around.
Thanks so much for this! I use my main drive for just for Windows and have a couple other much bigger drives for gaming I like to move everything too when I can.
sadly you can't move your save game locations but for most folks the mod folder is the biggest space consumer under Document/My Games/FarmingSimulator20XX/
@@FarmerKlein Yep as you said the mods is where all the space goes especially for maps. This really helps when someone like me had a FS22 folder with hundreds of mods. haha
Man wish i would have known about this in FS22, would have been a game changer for me, had alot of mods, but i dont play 22 anymore im a 25 player now, good thig is i moved my mods to a SSD which is hella faster with a shit ton more room
I've done this but now game takes long time to save nvme ssd 2.0 Also would be nice to move the documents folder from c to another drive so in theory it's still saving to drive c
Moving your documents to another drive is fairly simple process here is an article start with the section "How to Change the My Documents Folder Storage Location" support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/configuration-of-the-my-documents-folder-dfd9a90d-8f80-18d6-e7cc-f1566fc3b10b
Mods are read 3 times during a gameplay session the performance hit is not as big as you think it might be. They are scanned when the game launches for the info in their moddesc.xml. Any mods that are in use in the save are read when the save game loads and they are read when yoru look at a vehicle, implment or buiding in the shop menus.

Mod Folder Switcher is already out for FS25. Works great.
This isnt abotu switching mod folders it's about moving it to a totally different drive than the default location under your user profile.
It that like "PV ToolsV3"? (Think that one is dead since FS19)
Understood. But with MFS you can create a dozen “mod folders “ on multiple drives. I create one location for each map.
@@JoriDiculous he moved it to Trello starting in FS22.
Thanx

Sorry you never came across my FS22 video on the subject.

Thanks but I'm not prepared to take the performance hit moving it to a much slower drive.

I wonder if this also worked on FS22?
Yes, i made a video for it in 22 and 19 if i recall correctly. This is just a refresh for 25.
why is it that some mods load while others dont?
look in the game log to see what the error is with the mod. its in the same folder as your mod folder is located.
