Tiny Cabin For The Winter & Goodbye Garden

- Levi is back in town from his elk hunt! All that means is that he is gone all day moose hunting now. They did not have a good elk hunt at all between covid, pneumonia, and no elk. But they will be going hard to get a moose before the season wraps up which means you're stuck with me for now.
On a normal year, I'd be out hunting with the guys but since I am now 7 months pregnant I've been staying home on this season. I just can't keep up with the guys anymore and deeply regret it when I do attempt to go as much as I used to. Next year will be my year!
Since I am being the stay-at-home-pregnant-lady I am working on getting the guest cabin move in ready. This is taking a lot of organizing and re-organizing. We have been storing quite a bit in the little cabin since we got here and now most of our things in the camper need to be moved over too. That's not even considering the fact that a whole new human will be with us in it come December! Diapers and all.
The garden has also come to a final close! We woke up the other morning to the first frost so we had to quickly get things out of the buckets. Luckily, I already had the onions done by then and the carrots seemed to take it fine. The potatoes had a very thin skin on them so we put a few back in the dirt to hopefully develop that a little more.
I promise to be back up with the longer videos very soon! Life has been absolutely crazy so I am getting up what I can each week. Once Levi is present again, it will be much easier. After moose season we will be all in on the new homestead and will have plenty to share!

Sure hope the guys get a moose for the freezer. Sucks that they got covid & wasn't able to get an elk. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys 😊
Your big doggie sure looked comfortable! Lol....Reminds me of our house. We have a 180 lb Newfoundland and he loves the couch!
Spread your potatoes out in a dry place, don’t wash them. The skin will dry out in about 10 days. Don’t let them freeze! 😊
Good advice. I planted potatoes in a 5-gallon bucket this year. I spread them out in the sun. Big mistake. They turned green; I tossed them. I had no clue. But now I know. Good thing it wasn't a major effort.
