  • “Cáit Ni Dhuibhir” (Katie O’ Dwyer) is the second tune in a set beginning with the air “Dochas” on the Chieftain’s 1977 Claddagh album “Chieftains 7.” The name “Cáit Ni Dhuibhir” was a sobriquet for Ireland in 18th century Irish poetry. “Banish Misfortune” is a popular three-part jig, which Irish musicians humorously refer to as “Vanish Me Foreskin.”
The guitar arrangements are from, respectively, Glenn Weiser’s books, “Celtic Guitar” (Alfred Publishing) and “Folk Songs for Solo Guitar" (Cherry Lane Music).
Performed by Glenn Weiser on a 1928 0-21 Martin guitar. Recorded December 6, 2013 and January 22, 2014 at the Soundry, Soddy Daisy, TN.
For information about Glenn’s CDs, fingertsyle guitar and harmonica books, and virtual private music lessons on guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and fiddle, visit www.celticguitarmusic.com

Banish Misfortune was my favorite celtic tune that you taught me. I got it from your "Fiddle Tunes For Harmonica" which i still have. I picked up a mando in the store last week and i can still play it! (not too clean though lol). Thanks for the lessons!
