Genius and moral giant, he didn't talk in a way that he "thought he was always right," but distanced himself from such things, and always had clear reasons, and impartial morality; making his arguments absolutely devasting.
He could silence a full table of debaters all talking at once, bickering is a word for it, with only a few words.

Dude, you're wrong. It's not illegal. Yes they censor on college campuses, but you can't face legal consequences for insulting a religion. You can't go to jail for it, you can't get a fine for it, in fact you can't receive any type of criminal sentence whatsoever, and you can't be sued for it.
From a legal perspective, you are allowed to say whatever you want, and you can certainly discuss the bad outcomes of evil beliefs. The State has no ability to prevent you from doing that, so it remains perfectly legal.
College campuses can ban you because they don't represent the State so they aren't bound by the First Amendment, but the US government has not outlawed insulting Islam.
That's just factually incorrect. Ask any lawyer, judge, or prosecutor you want (I am one).

I'd like to think Mr. Hitchens is smiling down upon us from the Celestial North Korea.
Hitch was an articulate, witty and highly intelligent man who saw all religions as a ridiculous construction by man to suppress the masses using fear,threats and terrorism to keep the people in check. Here is a classic discussion with a muslim man saying how his religion is about love and peace, whilst decapitation, torture and killing is the reality.
The world is a poorer place now he has gone.
I look at religions a lot like guns, they are tools. Tools that can be used benevolently or maliciously.
