- Bachmann's new Mainline Quarry Hunslet 'Linda', was a surprise announcement before Christmas. The model is in early Ffestiniog Railway condition as an 0-4-0 with tender. Shot's of both 'Ladies' in the video singly and also double heading on my 009 layout, Pen Gwyn
What a wonderful railway Austin. The scenery and sound effects are amazing. You see something knew every time the trains go around the layout. This is a real labour of love- and I loved it too.
Many thanks Keith, I do love this little layout and I'm currently building a larger version which will hopefully work just as well
Looks like a heap of fun . . .
Thanks, it's certainly a heap of something!!
Fabulous locos and what a great layout. Hats off to you and Bachmann.
Thanks for your kind comments
Superb detail to these models Austin makes you wonder how much better they could possibly get.
It's amazing how they've improved Phil even in the few years I've been modelling. A Garrett would be very nice!
You couldn't have chosen a better subject for your layout Austin, superb attention to detail as always.
Thanks Bob, 009 enthusiasts are getting spoilt with the wonderful releases from Bachmann. Got the track down and points wired up for a larger layout now!
I just acquired 'Blanche' and love the little thing! My model railway is very much in its early stages but I hope to get it going soon. Thanks for the video and the inspiration!
Thanks for your kind comments and good luck with your model railway...hope to see it on here sometime
@@acw71000 Thanks, here's the layout I just recently completed:

Currently has Blanche and Linda running on it 😎
Cheers
Superb Austin, looking great double heading and your attention to detail with the scenery is magnificent 👍
Thanks Steve, there are so many products available now to add little details to layouts. A lot different to when I first started modelling
Excellent video, Austin, of your amazing layout. The two FR locomotives fit in very well. Regards, Dave.
Cheers Dave, and all the best for the New Year
Excellent video Austin. A great layout you have with brilliant scenery. Nice touch with the double header. Best wishes C&A
Thanks, first time I've tried a double header, the pair made a great sound
A superb video Austin, great layout and great detail, cheers👍
Thanks Nige and all the best for the New Year
Could I ask what size this layout is please? I absolutely love it!
Superb!!!! Happy new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, same to you too
Great detail Austin. all the best for new year.
Thanks David, best wishes to you too for 2023
I love your little layout 😍 looking forward to the modern FR variants. Might even tempt me to have a dabble into 009
Thank you. I'm sure Bachmann have plenty of surprises up their sleeve for future models.
Hi Austin, where did you get the crane in the goods yard from? Love the crane and fantastic jayout
Thanks for watching Howard. The crane is a Wills kit, ref. SS51. I got a little piece of chain from Ebay to finish it off.
These are very intricate models
They are indeed, Bachmann produce some excellent models
Does your layout have a name and any page where i can see more pictures and details please?! Thanks
Hi Matt, yes the layout is named Pen Gwyn. There are a couple of videos of it on TH-cam. This was the first one th-cam.com/video/BYNsI_pQC5E/w-d-xo.html
The layout has changed since that one but if you search for the layout name you should be able to find the others. Thanks for your interest
@@acw71000 Thanks. It's a stunning looking layout. Really love it.
How big is the overall layout please and did you use setrack?
It's 4' x 2', I used Peco Streamline track but no reason why setrack couldn't be used. It's actually adapted from this setrack layout www.osbornsmodels.com/peco-setrack-oo-plan-5-a-traditional-oval-layout-22352-p.asp
Lovely layout. Can you tell me where the black station railings that are next to the phone box are from? Thanks.
Thanks for watching. The railings are by Faller in HO scale, the part number is 180412. Hope you can track them down
Nice done video Austin :)
Thanks Simon, glad you liked it
Lots of details
It's all in the detail I believe John and so many things are available to us these days to create little cameos
"Pen Gwyn".
I see what you did there.
My surname is Whitehead and Pen Gwyn is the name in Welsh...nothing to do with the Batman character!
@@acw71000 So it's just a happy coincidence. :D
