The locos were made by Paul Windle; he's made 5 for this layout, I believe. I asked Tim Couling about them, and he kindly arranged a quick view of the red (maroon?) for me. He and his team are very friendly and approachable, just as the other people running the other layouts were. It's a great exhibition.
@@jonathanj8303 They're based on them I seem to recall. I spoke to Paul Windle about them ages ago, and he said he'd also done some tank engine variants; these can be found on Flickr. The chassis is a Farish 08 with Roco cylinders etc. (apparently, these are a perfect fit). I tried to supply some links to the Flickr pictures, but nothing would work. It's a case of doing a search using "Tim Couling" and/or "Clyre Valley Railway" etc., and you will find them. These are some of the best 009 locos out there. If only Fourdees/Bachmann would stop concentrating on little tank engines and do something new and interesting, sigh... If you ever go to see this amazing layout, the team running it are very approachable.

Are they darjeeling pacifics? (Class C, if memory serves)
