A Blessed And Merry Christmas to Sensible Prepper family and all who are watching.
Merry Christmas Nancy!
My first garden was in 1st grade. Here are 2 of my top recommendations: Start an organic compost pile now. Learn how to compost; it is a skill. I grew a 1-acre garden in good soil without water because the crust formed on top of the soil kept the moisture in and compost retains moisture. I had very few weeds.. Healthy soil = healthy plants = healthy produce. Insects attack unhealthy plants. Secondly, purchase Heirloom seeds. The seed harvest from these plants will give you the same produce, but increasingly adapted plants to your soil and location, year after year. Hybrid seeds mutate.
Keep up the good work! Thank you for helping our planet!
i am a bicycle mechanic with a couple bikes made up and a dozen parts bikes. Those will be very valuable in the future. I make beeswax candles, tuna can buddy burners , one can twig stoves and slings. I can forge. Right now I have a stump anvil and looking to buy a 50 pounder anvil. I grow lots of garlic and I have other things coming up every year. I think I have a chance at thriving in a barter economy.
Are you a mountain biker? I am and I’ve been wondering how I could do the same as you. Got a few bike shops near me that I may check out. The owner of one said to me randomly if I wanted a job to reach out. He gave me his card.
I ride a Swinn Trike and my 50 pound anvil arrived.@@bert3566
Tuna can use buddy burners??? 👀
A great side gig (and even main gig) is learning chimney service. People are going to burn wood more the worse things get. But also repair, maintain and upgrade their system the better things get. You can learn a lot in a week at Chimney Safety Institute of America's basic certification course. Tough, dirty work but there's plenty of work out there!
SHTF doesn't necessarily look the way people think. It could look like a spouse losing a job, or your 401k tanking right before you retire. Don't neglect those financial preps, including some cash on hand OUTSIDE the banks!
You're absolutely correct, and sensible prepper says that all the time. There can be little shtf moments and great big ones.
What do you mean by cash? Money today has no intrinsic value and its value is determined by the government. Make sure you have things that you can barter with.
@@lucusrose Still has some value in the sense that you can still trade for real things of value. That's what I mean - as asset prices decline, fiat money is still the most liquid way to take advantage of them. That won't be the case forever, of course, as every fiat currency in history has always gone to zero eventually.
Two of my backup options are: 1) Being a retired RN, I am learning to suture wounds and administer wound care. 2) I collect warm clothes of high quality to trade or sell. I think that having a large quantity of salt to trade is smart. We have to have salt as a nutrient and more so when working and sweating, preserving food, and tasting our food.
You made a great point, what if we stored up all this stuff and never need to use it? But another interesting point you made is prices on the things we buy keep going up. I think these two points compliment each other when we have something on hand that we bought before prices went up that we can sell or use later to barter for other immediate things we might need later if the current monitary system faces collaps.
One thing we definitely need is a prepping community reguardless if we use it or not. I have been finding folks outside my area getting them involved in sharing their passions and investing my time to make prepping fun from the perspective of natural disasters those what if’s and furnishing answers as well as being oen to their suggestions giving gifts to these folks on subjects sharing research about the quality of our drinking water, and ways to harvest water from condensation. In winter freezing an object outside, bringing into a warm temperature and dangle it on a hanger as condemsation forms on the outside producing drops of water into a funnel, filling up a cup or sauce pan with pure water from air. Or digging a pit outside placing a can in the center, cover the pit with non scented single layer transparent panter’s drop plastic, over the 2 foot diameter pit, and lay heavy stones on the fringe. To allow sun to pass through and warm the moist soil to create condensation on the underside of the plastic and placing a lighter pebble in the center over the plastic and directly over where the can sits under the plastic will aim the condensation into the center where it will drip into the can to harvest water from. As i heard near Armenia 🇦🇲 a converted Christian settlment were being sabotaged by another country to starve them out to surrender, they did not have knowlrdge how to survive without a dependency on another country that wants to exterminate them ot take their land by denying them food and fuel. My investment pays dividends in fresh eggs from off grid farmers and giving back to them a little extra and washing my glass ware and returning it to those whose passion is selling canning in jars at a roadside stand and placing my order by phone or email, etc. and pick up items with payment on my way to work. I have been timkering with ideas but nothing concrete how to start a business. I could learn the art of gun cleaning and clean people’s equipment? It takes money to make money. And suggestions to make that job a reality.
I have started making small rocket stoves out of wood. I have limbs that are about 5 or 6 inches across and about 8 inches high that have been cut straight across, then I drill out the middle and down about 6 inches then in from the side. When lighting it aim the hole into the wind. They are dried for many months before use and burn for over an hour, enough to boil water many times.
Nice prep.
Funny I hopped outa my truck for a minute and you guys went from side gigs to infrared scopes. Didn’t realize it was a viewer question 😅
First of all merry Christmas, and happy new year. May God bless you and your family. You guys are exactly hitting the nail on the head. We have become a throwaway and instant world. Not too many people are willing to work and earn something they want to give it to them immediately. It will not help them in what looks to be the future that we’re headed towards. Thank you for all of your hard work putting these videos together.
I immensely enjoy your videos!!! Thank you! Merry Christmas to you and your families!
Love the videos and live shows. Hi from New Zealand. Just wanted to say that the problem with some (but not all) people who watch your videos is that they are only watching the videos and not putting it into practice. I saw a post on the live feed asking if seeds for growing veg and fruit would be a good thing to stock. Yes of course it's good to stock seeds, BUT if you're waiting for a SHTF event before attempting to grow a vegetable garden you are going to have a very rude awakening. You need to be doing it now. Learning what works and what doesn't work. Finding out about what grows well in the type of soil that you have locally...finding out about insect pests etc. Things will be very stressful when the SHTF - you don't need to put yourself under so much pressure AND start growing your own food. Practice NOW!
Thinking you missed one, Sootch. Tennessee and Florida do have property taxes. They don't have state income taxes. Just a heads up. Love the content, guys
Also here in GA and across river in AL I know us Veterans based on our disability rate also have property tax exemptions. So I dont have property tax or on my vehicles and each state has own benefits. I am from NC, and family has been there( also GA & TN)since beginning of country and been there since and still have property there too and it has become ridiculously full and overran by transplants and makes everything worse including taxes and cost. Its made all the things we love about our state now gone or just bad. We are full and not need or want anymore. We personally are now buying up all the properties we can around ours and not to rent or sell but hold on to like our families have in past who owned lot of properties/land . They arent making anymore of it. Im retired military and my husband and my sons are serving overseas just as everyone else in our families have all the way back. We have great pride in where we are from and love this country and hate seeing it how its become. It certainly isn't how it was growing up and never imagined would be like this. Thankful we found yall and your channel. Wish we could have group to meet with, with people like yourselves and looked into the ranch membership but we are more interested in hunkering down here on our farm and just have a community of people.
Loved the part you brought up on scrapping. When one works in construction it is an easy side gig. Lots to learn though on breaking it down and separating to maximize profit. Learn what to save up and when to turn it in as well.
Tennessee has property tax on land, but no income tax.
Good to see my Brother Robbie .... another great Patriot here in South Cackalacki.
Guys, always great videos and live shows. You mentioned that Florida and Tennessee do not have property taxes (if I heard you correctly) answering a viewer's question. I believe you meant to say they do not have Income Taxes (neither does Texas). I live in Florida and know for sure we do have property taxes (though very reasonable, with many exemptions to take advatage of which helps) and we do not have any income tax. Just wanted to clarify that nit-picking point. I have learned an awful lot from both of you and have done just about everything you have suggested that I can do to prep, especially for hurricanes, etc.
Merry Christmas everyone from Syracuse NY
Merry Christmas to you from Cortland NY
Thank you my friend
@@earlshaner4441 RU a prepper???
Oh yeah my friend
@@earlshaner4441 Same here...since 2018, My whole life I've been into outdoor stuff and wilderness survival. I just got real serious about prepping in 2018...let's pray we don't need these skills though.
No, Joe Kennedy started out as a bootlegger. (This, according to my Dad, who was alive in the Great Depression.)
yes this is true!During prohibition.
I store seeds underground like the elites😂. I have a video on it 😉
Merry Christmas from Irmo
Soap making is good too
There is definitely property taxes in Tennessee. We do not have a state tax though.
I’m a trained therapist … specialties - trauma, grieving & conflict resolution. I’m guessing those will be areas people will need help with during these coming times & make me a helpful member of a MAG.
I feel you should stock up on seeds, but should FIFO them the same way you would food. If its possible for you to garden now.
What do you do if you are retired?
People are going to need jobs in the future, not everyone can be a merchant or tradesman. I plan on getting production lines going showing people how to make my one can twig stove or other items and trade with people for more tin cans and cardboard, whatever is needed. When cooking for the group, someone will have to gather twigs, walnuts and pinecones as fuel. There is lots of work needed to be done. I see myself as a community leader with some sort of plan. I am a musician so I can be an entertainer as well.
Yes to all if the above. Agreements. Logged out….
TN and FL have property tax. I think you meant state tax. Great video.
If I only listened to you on audio, I'd be convinced Robbie is an old black lady with his "uh-hmm"😂
Tennessee has property tax i live in Tennessee and have wll my life you have to pay a property tax for sure every year
FL has property tax. No income tax
When we were searching for properties in TN there were property taxes listed!?! Can someone please confirm what he’s saying is correct…there are no property taxes in TN?!? That would be a big factor in narrowing down our next move.
I live in NE Tennessee. Yes, there is property taxes, county and if applicable, city taxes.
Only state that I know of that has some areas w no taxes is AK and those aren’t the main areas.
There is 12 states that doesn’t have it if I’m remembering right it is Hawaii, South Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Idaho, and I can’t remember the rest of them
They meant Sate income tax, not property. there IS PROPERTY tax in those states
This is incorrect. Some of these states have both property and income taxes.
Do a video on sieving it a cyberattack
Better have a trade barter system up before they pop it..
Hey man, you just announced that you would be out of town! You broke your own good rule.
Joe Kennedy also made a lot of bucks running illegal booze.
Tennessee has property taxes. They don't have personal income tax
Not true...Florida has property taxes and don't even think an out property insurance
Florida does have property tax . Trust me lived hear 45 years
Is buying a new car a good idea one?
With a great warranty [ like KIA]
Rather than keep a ‘’not so new’’, and fall into paying loads of repairs, etc
NO! Not right now. Our repairs have not equaled these newer car prices whatsoever. We are driving a 2000 & a 2006. Never would we buy a new one to begin with. If you have to have one, 2024 will turn up lots of deals and there is a huge surplus of non selling cars and massive repos are coming. People are, and more will, just walk off from these unaffordable overpriced mortgaged chariots!
Oh hell no! My car has 225k miles on it, in the last 4 years I spent 5k on repairs.
Purchasing a new car you will spend at least (!!!)that much per year on payments.
@@femvetusa5263 I totally agree! Higher taxes (in my state anyway) and insurance. No Thank you! I think they know they asked a stupid question to begin with anyway!
My $1475.00 2007 Ford pickup truck is still going strong after 5 years of ownership. I’ve spent about $1K in repairs. Used is always better. New cars are a terrible drain on finances.
Kias are a bad idea all around.
My main concern is for several people locked into an ARM loan and the FED continually increasing rates . If they don’t stop raising the rate there will be a lot of homeless people.
Florida DOES have Property Tax but DOES NOT have Income Tax.
Best Gas mask is a Israel gas mask because I have one it works like a charm
Robbie…umm hmmm
Over 70 dollars for Mexican food for three people? Lol here in California it would cost 30 dollars for three people.
Tennessee does have property taxes and we don't want you here lol so go somewhere else.
we are aslo full in SC!
