When you get your jar of peanut butter home from the grocery turn it upside down and let it set for a day or two. The oil moves up through the peanut butter. Then turn it back to upside right...the oil should be more evenly dispersed ...making it easier to stir. If you leave it upside down longer it eventually will have the oil on the bottom. I just continually turn mine as needed. So glad i learned this trick. Hope it helps.🕊️❤️ PS...make sure the lid is tight ...and i always sit mine on a small plate just in case.
Personally, this is actually one of the reasons I make my own peanut butter. I buy big bags of raw peanuts, roast them myself, and then blend them. It's cheaper and generates less waste (jars). I've noticed that even when I have the peanut butter around for over a month, there's no oil separation whatsoever. To me, that indicates that the stuff you buy in stores has been sitting around for a *long* time.
I make a protein brownie that is accidentally vegan. 30g oat flour, 25g pumpkin seed protein powder, 15g coconut sugar, 15g cocoa powder, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, pinch salt, 80ml plant milk. Since plant milks vary, add more or less to make it the right thick consistency. Bake in a ramekin at 375 for 20 or so minutes.
There is another ingredient that will change how you think about brownies... it's beet. Try it out! Beet and chocolate make a scrumptious combo! I'll try your recipe of course too
So I made this recipe and, WOW! It came out so delicious! I used tahini and dates instead of maple syrup. My wife, daughter, and I loved it! Great texture, not dense at all. Great consistency, just like cheesecake. Thank you for your great videos. Now on to make your black bean brownies and chickpea protein bars.
Oh man, I just did this! Different recipe, but did it. So good 😊. I wanted to see how it was before making for my newly diagnosed friend (wheat intolerance)
I've been making black bean brownies for my bf and one time, he found a bean that hadn't been mashed. He asked what it was and I told him it was a bean. He swears it was an ear bud or ear plug.
Thanks for sharing Mark. For anyone interested, I think this is the recipe... Ingredients 1 can black beans (save the liquid) 1 tablespoon chia seeds 2 tablespoons black bean liquid (for chia seed mixture) 1 cup rolled oats (blended into flour) 2 tablespoons cocoa powder ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon baking powder 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (or 3 tablespoons) ¼ cup natural, runny peanut butter ½ cup sweetener (a mix of maple syrup, agave, allulose) Instructions - Mix chia seeds with 2 tablespoons of black bean liquid. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes gel-like. - Blend rolled oats to create oat flour. - Add cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and protein powder. - Add the black beans to the dry ingredients and blend. - Add the peanut butter and sweeteners and blend. - Add additional black bean liquid to get a runny consistency. - Preheat oven to 350°F. - 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper. - Pour the brownie mixture into the pan. Add chocolate chips and peanut butter swirl. - Bake for 15-20 minutes. Let it cool down so it can firm up. Optional topping Whisk the following into a creamy texture 3 tablespoons coconut oil ¼ cup coconut cream ⅓ cup cocoa powder 2 cups powdered sugar - Spread over the cooled brownies. - Refrigerate for 15 minutes before serving.
Use a hand mixer to stir your peanut butter. Use just one blade. Hold tight to the jar while you are mixing. Ask me how I know this. 😊. (You are looking so good!)

Dude, to use a blender to stir nut butters, use that cork screw blender blade. Just use one on the side that rotates downward. Perfectly blended nut butter with no mess.
maybe very stupid question but isn't the aquafaba what is causing major bloating? It seems like a brilliant replacement for oil and eggs but I am a bit scared of getting stomach pain. Someone any opinion on that?
It's just like eating beans regularly. The more frequently you eat beans, the less gassy you are. The more often you incorporate aquafava in recipes, the less gassy/bloated you'll be.
Yep! I used to barely get any fibre, all junk. But now I regularly eat 100g+ of fibre in a day, from bean chilli, baked beans, lentil and pea soups, fruit, veggies, and oats. Very little gas or stomach upset but it took a little while to build up the microbiome for it. I used to have IBS digestive issues - probably from my poor diet and microbiome. Feels like I have an iron gut these days!@@timothycook1119
This came at the perfect time! I was asking my sister to pick 3 recipes for me to cook and she wanted brownies but as a 4th recipe....however i have all these ingredients so im gonna make them anyway since it isnt adding to my grocery trip!
Is it possible for you to do a video on making non-wheat cinnamon rolls? I've been craving cinnamon rolls (with extra cinnamon) since I cut wheat out of my diet...
I definitely prefer using butter beans and chickpeas for any healthy dessert as other beans just impact to much beany taste to me BUT surprisingly red lentils work well too :D For chocolate deserts though pretty much anything can be used as a base because cocoa masks other flavors very very well :D
do you grind your chia seeds prior to using??? - I don't have protein powder.????... and can i use a cup of dates instead of maple syrup???? looks good. thanks for the video!!!!🥜🥜🥜
I seriously had a can of black beans in the cupboard for a few weeks that I thought I should use up and turned it into burgers today. Wish I had seen this video first 😢they look amazeballs
But would you know there were chia seeds? Any suggestions for a replacement for protein powder? I don’t do food that is processed that much. You said it binds. But seems also sweet.
Hahahaha I had a really good lol at that ai image of your fridge filled with aquafaba 😂🤣 thanks, I needed that today. I don't have a very big sweet tooth. But I do enjoy a good brownie, and a good salty and savoury sweet dessert. So definitely gonna try this one. Thanks 💚🌱
Certain beans working extremely well in a lot of Asian deserts should make the positive outcome obvious. Beans’ savouriness gives a deep flavour 2 sweets.
I've not yet made am acceptable vegan brownie so will have to give these a go. If you have a surplus of oats then you could try making oat 'meat', for breakfast sausage, burgers, or nuggets. It;s just oats and seasonings and then bound together with extra firm tofu that's been blitzed with a small amount of oil and water. You then shape and fry them quickly, and then either steam or simmer them in stock for 30 mins. Leave to cool and then store in the fridge over night, and they become even firmer and meat-like.
Anything chocolate will cover up most alternative flavors. Black beans are great for chocolate protein shakes, too. Also, the protein will only help bind if it has starches in it. I have a starch free protein powder and it's stupid to try to bake with it.
