Both the movie and game was amazing. I doubt it'll ever get remade like Battle for Bikini Bottom is, but it's still up there as one of the best Spongebob games.
The PS3 version of the game was actually taken off the PS3 store because of issues like blurry images and de-synching issues, so those are I think the only problems with the PS3 version that caused it to be delisted
@@TheFrozenCavern Out of curiosity, what is your opinion on "The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water", and are you looking forward to "The Spongebob Movie: Sponge On The Run"?
I enjoyed the movie for what it was. When it comes to movies it takea a lot for me to not at least like it. As for Sponge on the Run, I haven't paid the most attention to it, but I wouldn’t mind going to see it.
3:34 that exact thing you non-verbally said happened to Sandy. You can find ter next to the Ice Sakting Idiot challenge on Planktopolis running in a hamster wheel. Just like in the movie.
I remember not beating this game as a kid cause I either found it too hard to complete for some reason, or I just simply never beat it. I do remember clearly struggling with time trial ring levels trying to get the token(s) I needed to unlock an ability in planktoplis. The original spongebob movie is great. Never saw future spongebob movie(s), and the show went down in quality massively. I remember really enjoying this game. This game needs a remake like battle for bikini bottom.
Yeah, some parts of this game is actually challenging. I think I've only ever 100%ed the game once, if at all. The guitar rings are hard. I have seen some movies afterwards, (Atlantis Squarepantis and Truth or Square) and I've heard the show has gotten better recently though. I'd love a remake for this game, but I doubt it'll ever happen unfortunately unless it was fan made.
When it comes to the backtracking, you don't have to collect all of the tokens. But if you do, then you are rewarded with a 100% cutscene after the final boss. And there was even 100% cutscene level that can be accessed by dummying the file on an emulator. That will make the game unable to start the credits and return control to the player (which has always been the case after, but the credits would start before the level could be explored. Plus, it's unfinished anyway in terms of certain stuff) This game really rocks despite its problems, like its predecessor Battle for Bikini Bottom (hyped for Rehydrated as well). 2004 was a great year in terms of Nick Games with stuff like this game, Fairly OddParents Shadow Showdown and Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams (you should review the Tak Games, they're pretty good)
I know you don't have to do all of them. My main grip is the fact that you have to and there's won't be enough tokens to get to avoid doing the repeats unless you cheat. Didn't know about the 100% cutscene thing though.
@@TheFrozenCavern that would be nice, i am interested in most reviews you make but it's mostly so people could have a convenient timeline of events and stuff.
Also, the PS2, GC, and Xbox Versions are fine compared to the PS3 download. Except the GC Version is rather crappy. Inconsistent Framerate, Some attention to detail removed due to the Limited GC Storage, and the loading screen taking to long to load and may end up freezing. This is only on the GC Version because of the limitations. The Xbox, while more powerful, has cropped widescreen support and the Framerate can be inconsistent sometimes (although I was playing on the 360 through Backwards Compatibility, that could've done it, but no slowdown or anything) The PS2 version is up there with the Xbox Version, but has no cropped widescreen support and a good consistent Framerate. The game looks great on the Xbox and PS2 versions, although I prefer the PS2 version because it's better in Framerate compared to the Xbox
Glitches like that audio desync are prominent in many PS Store classics. Psychonauts on the Classics line up had awful desync, and the PS2 on PS4 classics the audio is better, however it ceases existence sometimes as well the lighting and shadows are atrocious on the PS4 version. That audio bug is likely just Sony's porting incompetence. Also, awesome video.
@@TheFrozenCavern I had some audio repeats on the GameCube version. Also in that version the bloom effect is basically absent, and the party waggon levels, thug tug, and Shell City are in 30 fps while the other remaining levels are in 60 fps.
I didn’t have this game as a kid so I did buy it at a flea market and I honestly didn’t have the patience to collect those stupid tokens so I just used the cheat code to advance and I can’t tell you how many times I died against Neptune
Do you know how much I begged my parents to let me go see the SpongeBob Squarepants movie me and my brother both begged our parents to go see it but sadly we didn’t get the chance to but when it was airing on TV me and my brother both made popcorn grab a soda and grab some candy and we just watch the movie on the couch Plus I love this movie and I hope to find the game soon
Polar Express made a VIDEO GAME, well, nopony (yes, noPONY, I watch My Little Pony, please respect my opinion) would even BUY it cause there is NOTHING to the story but running through the factory and chasing the ticket!!
I highly recommend it. This is one of those licensed based games that I feel everyone should experience. I do have a few gripes with it that I mention in the video, but it's still incredibly fun.
The SpongeBob movie was the perfect ending for the series in my opinion, and the game looks great, can't wait to try this one out.

Oh. Didn't know the blurry images were an issue with the PS3 version only. The de-syncing was a very clear sign though.

Oh yeah she was there
Fun fact this game actually had the same engine as battle for bikini Bottom
That's very interesting cool
Yup, actually about 90% of the entire PlayStation 2 & Xbox game libraries used renderware
Fun fact: this game was released BEFORE the movie came out so basically the game just spoiled the whole movie
I bet nick was like:S T O N K S
Well, it is a tie-in game, so...
That’s usually how it is I think. I remember buying Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince video game before the movie came out.

The overarching plot of this channel seems interesting, kinda wish i knew which episodes had all the plot but eh, will scour it out one day probably.
I can make a playlist with just the episodes that have the lore in them. That could help with those who are just interested in that.
