Just received mine with grey dial. It's unbelievably beautiful and super comfortable to wear (wrist 7.5 inch diameter). Although it's based on the VC Chrono Royale, it reminds me of the Nautilus 5711/1A/010 which I owned for 10 years. Not far off that quality actually. I have a collection of Vacherons, Rolexes, Tudors, Blancpain & H Moser and I currently can't take it off my wrist.
I have the Manhattan 37 in ice grey with a date window, and it is an absolute stunner. I really like this brand. I think that the 39mm, while substantially slimmer than the 37, would be a bit too big on my wrist due to the atypical case shape. The 37 fits perfectly and it has a second hand! And the price isn't too bad either!
I have 3 Maen products and one on preorder, white Skymaster, green Brooklyn and the blue Manhattan 37. The dial especially on the Manhattan is amazing and overall quality for their entire product line incredibly good. Can't wait for the 4th limited edition brown sunburst dial Skymaster.
So maen is reliable? Cant decide between the manhatten 39 and the tissot gentlemen p80. Want to get the maen but I dont know if it will last as long as a tissot
IBWC member here (14cm). Have you been able to try on the 37mm size, and how well did it wear for you, if so? The lug-to-lug of that one still being 47mm seems fairly large still!
I thought there's a second hand hole in the center of the handset as I thought it was using the manual wound version of 2824, but turns it's using peseux 7001 and that movement have a direct small second in its original form. So I was confused on why there's a need to put an extra length cannon pinion on the center of the minute hand, or perhaps that's the minute hand post that is extra long. Removing that would create a thinner watch overall and also I wish they didn't remove the small second. But as a peseux 7001 equipped watch, this could be thinner if only they didn't do things that I've mentioned above.
I am really keen on getting this as my third of the watch into collecting. Went 70s with Ebel and Rado, this would fit perfectly as a 70s style homage.
One very thin watch that many don’t even know about and is very affordable is the Christopher Ward Malvern 595 As the name implies it is 5.95mm thin. 😊

I completely agree. I like my salmon dial better than all the other dials offered on the 37 as well as all the dials on the 39. I believe that the 39 is thinner but looking at it from the side in the picture compared to my 37, it doesn't look appreciably thinner. My 37 cost about US$700-750 though now it's over $830. Still worth it, I think. What isn't worth the extra money to me is the upgrade to the display case back and nicer movement on the 37 at over $1250 or the upgrade to the 39 at over $1150.
Am I the only one a bit annoyed that those vertical stripes don't line up with rest of the dial? For example: Look 12 and 6 of clock markers and compare it to stripes in the dial. Its half a centimetre off... In all the pictures in maen website and videos of early "reviews" they are perfectly lined. Quick image search later and same seems to be ongoing in most watches that are actually bought from maen... It almost seems that watches that are sold have completely different quality standards than watches that were revied in early access. This is the reason why I have trust issues...
Did you mean half millimeter? There's no way anything on the dial could possibly be off by half a centimeter. Either way, I didn't see anything that's misaligned.
I've been looking at the Worn and Wound Maen Manhattan collaboration in 37 mm for a few months now. Although I love the burgundy dial color, I don't like the way W&W reduced the number of lines markers to only four. I wish Maen would come out with a burgundy color of one of there regular lineup, preferably in both 37 and 39mm. I think it would be a total winner.

the watch roll it comes with a very big factor in deciding to buy it one thing that bothers is the font of the brand name, something is off about it. don’t know enough to know why
I have the Manhattan 37, love it but getting less time since my Tudor arrived this autumn. Love the Maen brand as it offers alot of watch with enough own tweaks to the obvious inspiration of their designs.
How many people even know what a Nautilus is??? 99.5% of the population don't even look at your watch. Of the 0.5% that do look, the majority frankly don't care what it is or would know what a Nautilus is.
And also 0.01 of the population can afford a nautilus and also how many good Swiss brands are making homage to the nautilus. By exemple the PRX from Tissot is the best seller hands up from 2022 2023 and will see for 2024. Now more people associate the style of a prx as this style than a style that look originally more from an AP even a nautilius.
Don't see the point of this watch. The Manhattan 37 ticks all the boxes already and I've never complained about the thickness of mine - one of the flattest sitting watches I own. The 37mm size in an integrated design is plenty large for even up to a 7 inch wrist I'd say. And the 37 is much cheaper with an automatic movement that keeps decent time. The 39 seems like a waste of money to me.

Maen is one of those underrated microbrands, they have a good lineup, and this Manhattan model looks so nice, but it's a bit overpriced for what it is and It's not the same price as PRX, it's about twice the price! But it's not twice the watch imho.
Looks like a great case and a good movement, love some 7001 peseux (now ETA) goodness.howver, manual wound and then this tiny octagonal crown will probably not make it the most comfortable to wind, I assume? Also the missing second hand leaving a hole uncovered in the stem makes this a bit ugly. Hope they find a way to cover that up before production.

And where is this watch brand from? That’s right, Sweden! Two Dutch guys met in Sweden and decided to start a watch company. Maen is an old Dutch spelling of the word moon, so I guess it’s a moonwatch 😜
For me, it's annoying that the videographer doesn't answer important questions, such as the absence of an IMPRESSUM on his web page. This reinforces the idea among readers (potential customers) that this company's head office is effectively outside the EU - a delicate situation for the future.....(warranty, repairs, etc.). The video lacks a bit of concrete information about the watch, there's a lot of blah-blah.
I've been considering the Utrathin with the red dial. I think it looks gorgeous. I hadn't realized there was no second hand though. That makes this watch a no-buy for me. I've had one manual wind watch with no seconds hand in the past, and it drove me crazy never knowing if the watch had stopped or not. I was constantly putting it up to my ear. Making sure it was always wound became an unhealthy obsession. Too much stress

When I look at time pieces, the most important thing to me is the quality of the internal movement, it's accuracy etc. These microbrands simply assemble watches with parts made by others. Their movements usually don't specify accuracy because most of them are +/- 20 seconds a day (such as Christopher Ward). I am not interested in newly minted designer watches that have no clue how to even manufacture movements. It is similar to buying a Calvin Klein or Fossil watch with off the shelf movements.
We use Elabore grade actually.. And the ETA7001 is a very reliable movement. Nothing you will find in a calvin klein watch.. So not sure what you are trying to say here..?

Standard - adjusts in two positions with an accuracy of +/-12 seconds a day up to +/- 30 seconds a day; Elaborated - adjusts in three positions with an accuracy of +/-7 seconds a day up to +/- 20 seconds a day Top - adjusts in five positions with an accuracy of +/-4 seconds a day up to +/- 15 seconds a day Chronometer - COSC certified; +/- 3 to 4 seconds per day The elaborate movement could lose 10 minutes in a month if not adjusted often, right?

At €1000 for a microbrand it's hardly a bargain, is it? And a bargain compared to what? A Cartier? AP? Unless you get the watch for free of course. ;) I own the Manhattan 37 but I also have the dignity and common sense to tell people how it is without hiding behind a sponsorship/paid review. For a manual wind, the crown is ridiculously small. Any half links (I miss it on mine)??? Warranty? (Maen has a standard 2-year from purchase date. CW offers 5 years on the movement)....
Maen has abhorrent quality control. My Manhattan 37 has a completely off-center date wheel, AND CROWN. Yes, the crown is not flush with the case but is angled weirdly and is also impossible to wind without hurting the hell out of your hands. It's also the only bracelet on a watch that has caused an allergic reaction from my skin making it a horrible wearing experience overall. That being said the finishing is great, it's just too ambitious of a watch in my opinion.
As a Native New York city person. I strongly object to the use if the name Manhattan for something like this. Nothing about this watch suggests "Manhattan"

I see it as a Pagani Design watch and I wouldn't be surprised if it comes from the same factory where Pagani watches are made and/or assembled.
This one though is Swiss made with a Swiss eta 7001 movement in it. However, parts could still come from any place….

One very thin luxury watch is the Raymond Weil Toccata Classic...42mm with a 6mm thickness! It also comes in 39mm with 8mm thickness.

No Seconds hand is a big disappointment. Something about the ticking seconds hand on a mechanical that makes it mechanical worth the premium.

I actually widh they have released new colours for 37, green and new red comes to mind. I dislike the lack of seconds hand and no hacking.

I own the Manhattan 37 but I also have the dignity and common sense to tell people how it is without hiding behind a sponsorship/paid review.
For a manual wind, the crown is ridiculously small. Any half links (I miss it on mine)??? Warranty? (Maen has a standard 2-year from purchase date. CW offers 5 years on the movement)....
Maen has abhorrent quality control. My Manhattan 37 has a completely off-center date wheel, AND CROWN. Yes, the crown is not flush with the case but is angled weirdly and is also impossible to wind without hurting the hell out of your hands. It's also the only bracelet on a watch that has caused an allergic reaction from my skin making it a horrible wearing experience overall. That being said the finishing is great, it's just too ambitious of a watch in my opinion.
This is obviously a Nautilus homage and imo homages aren't cool. 🤷🏻♂

Did you talk about the crown while this is a manual wind watch? Anyone will have a real hard time winding the watch with this crown.
Yeah that’s what I thought. Octagonal small crown makes it painful to wind. And here you have to wind it every other day. Wonder if that might change.
