Datil pepper is known for making a pepper sauce. We're in 7a E TN. Last year we grew many varieties of tomatoes, 152 plants, trying to determine what tomatoes grow best and taste best here. We were surprised as Cherokee Purple has been our favorite for years yet, the Thornburn's Terra-Cotta (Baker Creek) was our top choice for a slicing sandwich tomato. Even my 82 year old Pennsylvania Dutch mother, the middle child of many from a 400 acre dairy farm, chose the Terra-Cotta for her tomato sandwiches and slices. Amazing. Our best growing pastes were Jersey Devil, Orange Strawberry and Giant Paste. Baker Creek, MIGardener, Botanical Interests and Johnny's Select Seeds were where we purchased our seeds. We have had no luck growing eggplants. This year I have started them inside and hope that they actually grow and produce. We had the same contamination problem. Thanks for sharing your seed haul. I am looking forward to seeing your progress.

I am excited to try the Datle pepper! I have been one to normally stick with my tried and true favorites for tomatoes that being Cherokee and just a basic Beefsteak. I did try celebrity last year. They were prolific but the skin was to thick for me. After hearing you, I wish I would have gotten the Terra-cotta. There is always next year. 😊

I watched a channel, TheUpNorthHome, today where the gardener said that she had either no growth or poor growth from the Seeds of Change seeds. I don't know myself. But, she said she would not recommend their seeds to anyone. I am not sure as posted below where I get my seeds. What has your experience been other than the zucchini?

Welcome to the channel! I haven’t had trouble with seeds for change but I will say because my seeds are older I do put 3 seeds in each block. I do this just because I assume the germination rate will be lower. Also I get them for very cheap so I don’t mind waisting a few seeds if I was buying at full price I would pay more attention to the rate.
