I love the striped zucchini! Here in zone 8b artichokes grew amazing when I had the room! And they multiply!

I can never get the artichokes to grow. I will say, I haven’t given them the love and care to succeed. I’ll need to try a little harder to get them to grow since you had luck with them!

Lettuce is one of those things better grown indoors in hotter climates. We have recently been globally warmed to zone 10 from 9, All you really need is a good shop-light . 5-6,000k with a minimum of 2,300 lumens. More lumens is more better. :) Those cheap mylar survival blankets make good reflectors for your seed starting racks also if you do those indoors. Oh yeah and chickens, chickens eat the old plants!

That’s very true. Lettuce is very challenging to grow in my zone. A permanent set up indoors would guarantee lettuce year round, Thanks for the info and suggestion!

Florida gardening is tough! Your garden looks great. The dark soil and greens are impressive. We're from 10a SE FL. We've lived in E TN 7a the last 3 years and gardening is definitely easier here in 7a. I look forward to following your channel through all year gardening. Very inspirational! Have you checked out David the Good? He has booklets on growing in Florida. He is also from Ft. Laud. He's a great resource for Florida gardeners!

Yes your right, Florida gardening can be tricky! Zone 7 must be a little more mild than here. Our summers are extremely harsh. Those are nice things if you to say!! I haven’t seen anything by David the Good. I’ll check him out! Thanks for the suggestion and thank you for watching! 😊

Zone 5a and looking forward to trying to winter sow some perennials that need cold stratification like milkweed and different colors of coneflowers. Maybe try some asparagus and lavender too.

Great time to do that. Thanks for the reminder as well. I had hoped to grow milkweed and was waiting till the winter to do it! Thanks for watching 🙂

Hi!! I’m in New Orleans - very similar climate to you! 10b I think. Lots of kale, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage coming up, carrots too! I always have trouble with chard… I never get great results. Carrots did really well for me last year - I hope this year will be as good!
I have a 3 month old and almost 3 year old too! Very much a throw the seeds out and see how they do 😂 all that I have time for

Oh nice, that is a similar climate to us here in Florida! My best Swiss chard crop is in May, they do thrive that time of the year. I’d give them a try then! Good luck on your carrots. There’s nothing like fresh, homegrown carrots!
A agreed, a messy garden is better than no garden! The way I look at it is, I can always clean the sprouts up later. Congrats on your new baby!! Thanks for watching and sharing about your garden! 🙂

Hi, I actually only have chickens at this time. I’ve made some videos featuring them here and there. I’ll planning on posting a video on my flowers come June when the flowers are in full bloom.

Shelby does your area get frosts? Or is it rare?
I’m in central TX and we are creeping up on our winter weather. I’m savoring my lush, full fall garden while it lasts and dreaming about next year.

Hi! If we do get frost, it’s typically not until late January to mid February. And the number of frost days is around 7 (more or less) each year. How many days of frost do you typically experience in central Texas? What are you growing the most of right now in your Fall garden?

"Fall squash" means that you harvest them in fall, not start growing them in fall. Squashes are warm season crops and need spring-summer to grow in order to establish a harvest in fall.

Hello, our temps are still in the mid to low 80s here with a handful of days in the high 70s. So we’re still able to squeeze in a few warm weather crops as our first frost won’t be until late January. Fingers crossed it works, but if not, there’s always spring! Thanks so much for watching.
