    like other people mentioned, there is no visible difference in the movement before you put the new mounts in as compared to after. It is probably a much more noticeable difference in the actual growling and vibrations. Worn motor mounts can make your whole car to shake in weird ways. Great video no matter what, I agree with the advance auto choice too. Better than autozone in my experience.

    I have a 2006 Ford Escape, I was told that I needed to change one of my motor mounts by a mechanic. When I put my foot on the break when I stop, the right side shakes and makes a loud noise. The only way to get rid of it is to put it in neutral when I stop. Does that sound like a motor mount?

    Thanks for the video. My experience with an after market engine mount was quite disappointing. Whilst the growling and squeaking noise on cold start ups was resolved, there was a new issue of an annoying buzzing vibration throughout the whole car on acceleration. My mechanic was kind enough to refit for free an OEM Toyota engine mount which I purchased myself and now the car is buttery smooth.

    when you bent the flanges of the passenger side mounts back, was the mount snug to the housing bracket? the flanges on the new mount i got seem kinda short compared to yours and bending/hammering them back wasn't tight by my estimation so i did the best i could to keep the mount snug to the housing bracket.

    my car vibrates a lot when idling
    if you put it in neutral or park it seems to slow down the vibration a little bit, but it will still continue to vibrate some. is this in indication of bad motor mounts? I have a 2004 Hyundai XG350L with a 3.5 V6. The vibration gets annoying when sitting through traffic.

    While the passenger does go bad, it is the dogbone underneath that can't take the abuse and causes excess twisting which in turn creates more stress on the pass. upper. I've had to replace my dogbone twice and i drive like a normal joe. I am also only at 60k. Ford definitely should have had a recall on this and i don't even believe there is an upgrade. Now people think they need to buy OEM thinking its better and giving them more money for their mistake. Not me. This is in relation to the 2008-2011 Focus motor mount problem

      Cad Stansel Yes, mostly all vehicles will have a transmission mount as well. It'll usually be mounted to the transmission itself, right behind the driver's or passenger's side wheel in cars. In trucks, the transmission mount will be located near the bell housing (of the transmission) under the cab.

      david pomales I believe his shift solenoids maybe torque converter bad electronic throttle body is another cause with a bad electronic throttle body it could be partially stuck in an open position basically like your foot was on the gas when you started and it had a extra little kick. If it's a older car with a throttle body that has the cable running from the pedal to the throttle body there's a good chance the throttle position sensor is bad when they go out you'll think it's a transmission problem but it's just a little sensor that tells the transmission how far open the butterfly valve is open or closed.

  • @burgegerm7878
    @burgegerm7878 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    With motor mounts, OE is usually a substantially better option. A huge amount of research, control during production, and quality assurance has to go into making rubber motor mounts, especially hydraulic ones. That goes for a lot of rubber parts in general, as there are many formulations of rubber, with different properties, and the production process is sensitive and complex. No offense, but those things disguised as "motor mounts" are just ballast for ships coming from china. You can find the ford/motorcraft parts for a pretty decent price on the internet, and they are usually worth it. Ford parts are generally not made in china.

      maybe you drive too harsh. I just did mine on my 01 ford focus the hydraulic mount was still good but the torque and tranny mount where bad and my car had 140k miles and 15 years which to me seems fine if they last that long

    I never buy autozone or ebay or amzon or advance auto parts ... are simply trash .. if you want your vehicle drives good and parts last long long long time .. goto the dealer and buy oem parts
