Long story short. Neurologist determined my Peroneal nerve from my knee down was damaged. Had every symptom of Foot drop including massive numbing. Based of many tests estimated heal time was 3 years nerve 10 years for numbness to go away. I wore a ankle brace I bought from Frys (Gel Padding), took massive amounts of L-Glutamine, Massive amounts of vegetables and ULTRA healthy diet, applied heat and stimulated the muscle with exercises. Fully healed in 5 months. Both doctors were surprised.

I have been installing laminate flooring in my room for about 2 days. I worked about 8 hours per day and I was kneeling, crouching and sitting crossed legs a lot (I suppose that I have injured nerves in my knee). When I was done with work I have noticed that I can't lift my right foot anymore. But, at first sight, I was thinking that maybe somehow I have streched or injured a muscle in right leg. Therefore, I waited for 6-7 days before I visited my family doctor (that was a mistake).
Two days before I visited my family doctor, I have been reading a lot about the foot drop on the internet. That's why I knew I had a symptoms of foot drop. My family doctor confirmed that I have foot drop and with an emergency procedure she sent me next day (20.11.2018.) to a physiatrist.
Diagnosis was laesio nervi peronei and because of that I wasn’t able to lift my right foot. Physiatrist gave me a prescription for the Neurobion (combination of vitamins B1, B6, B12 and other ingredients) and also they have showed me how to perform exercises (you can find similar exercises on yt) at home. I have been taking Neurobion and performing exercises 2 times per day. Today (28.11.2018.) I can lift my right foot normally, I can drive a car and walk properly. But, I don't have yet full strength in my right foot like I had before the injury. Also, 3.12.2018. I need to go on physical therapy (abbreviation is AFT - I don't know what that abbreviation stands for). Physical therapy will last for 10 days, and after that (20.12.2018.) I need to visit that physiatrist again (just because of examination).
Btw I am from Croatia, probably in other countries they have a different medicines and procedures.
If your injury is similar like mine, don't be afraid. Be persistent with exercises and take your medicine regularly and you will be ok again.
    Good luck!

I'm not sure how many, but I believe it is a sizable market as it can be caused from issues with the spine, perennial nerve, etc. I am glad that you are doing this project, as it will help a lot of people. I hope you will promote this video among your colleagues.

The doctor fails to mention that foot drop can be linked to endometriosis. An article has been published on this topic in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry 1991;54:935-940.
'Pelvic endometriosis is a common gynaecological disorder. While usually involving the ovaries, uterosacral ligaments and pelvic peritoneum, it may rarely invade the sciatic nerve and its plexus.'

My son had back surgery fusion L3 and L5 and afterwards he had foot drop. Obiviously they caused some nerve damage. Physical therapy has helped some and he is walking some what better. When he runs his foot gets tired fast and foot drop is noticeable when he runs. Above his knee he has no feeling and is numb. It's almost been 5 months since surgery. What do you think? What do you recommend to help him improve his running. Do you think he will get feeling back above knee?

What's strange is my big toe was the first to move upward with the smaller ones the last to move. There is improvement I can get about with a crutch, my foot has started to lift a little, but my heel can't touch the floor which makes walking very exhausting.

I got foot drop in 2012 and when I went in to the doctor he asked if I played soccer and I was so confused. He said it's a common soccer injury...but I played no sports lol. I twisted my ankle wearing high heels! It was horrible and had to go through months of physical therapy. Now almost 5 years later my foot is not and will never be the same. I can lift it, but the amount of strength I had prior to the injury will never return.

I have had chronic back pain flair ups for years, back injections, physical therapy, a discectomy was mentioned appx 3 years ago, but I was not interested. Then I woke up one morning Oct 2014 and had foot drop. Went to Physical Therapy for 6 weeks use a Tens Machine. Went back to the doctor he said my condition has gotten worse. I have a appt to see a Spine Surgeon. I have noticed that my walking is getting more difficult, and I trip quite frequently, sometimes fall. I really don't want surgery, but I am afraid that is where I am headed. I want to know if I agree to surgery, will I recover from drop foot? I have had MRI's done, and I do have DDD, from what I have been told my L5 S1 looks hideous. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Dr. Ebraheim, I have partial footdrop which I am told resulted from a popliteal block given to repair a spontaneous ruptured peroneal tendon. I had polyneuropathy which was undiagnosed at the time of the block and tendon repair. Have you ever seen an injury such as this respond to any type of treatment. I have constant pain/numbness in my foot/walking and balance problems. I would go anywhere to be able to solve this injury. Thank you so much for your time in answering. I live in Pennsylvania.

Is foot drop something that can arise from MS or a rare form of severe hemipelegic migrajbe? I ended up with stroke-like symptoms one day, including my whole right side. Recovered most of the use of my right arm, but the doorstop is not getting any better ...

Susan Payne MS and Strokes do cause this “ Foot Drop” , keep your faith - anything and everything can be reversed - raise your energy vibration level and believe in yourself to heal yourself . We each have the “ The Power “ of self healing . There are TH-cam frequency sounds that help you raise your frequency vibration to self heal.

I certainly agree with a couple of others said - it's not as easy than it sounds to find a natural remedy for neuropathy.
Be careful and take advice from experts. I searched round a few sites and discovered a lot of great advice by searching google on websites such as Gabs Neuro Guide. Good luck and hope you succeed!

Hello, if no recovery after a reasonable time, at the end of the video; how many months do you refer to? A nerve repair is possible after 6 months?

I have suffered tripped fallen for ten over my feet dragging. I have worn devices to lift the foot with out positive results,my neurologist says it is foot drop. I though it was part of my neurological condition of ATAXIA so thought I had exhausted all systems of help. Your video has shown me there may still be help out there. I am going to seek another doctor ans ask about tendon transfer. Thank You for your educational video.

I have been injured when I was 6 years old. The bullet had hit my head since I was six years old and I could not walk properly. I did many exercises on my legs but got no positive results. I did surgery on my legs in Afghanistan when I was 17 years old and still, I am not able to walk properly. Therefore, the doctors said that “it is because of your encephalon problems” and Food Drop Issues. Do any Recommendations Please?

Hello Dr Ebraheim. Thank you or your videos. I am one year recovery from l4/l5 herniation. I have had mild foot drop. dorsiflex weakness. I can walk walk and flex the foot but it is not fully recovered. Walking is not the same as pre injury. I was told to wait and that this could recovery with therapy but it has not improved and the tibial muscle that controls the doors flex is atrophying. What is my prognosis in your opinion? Is this damage to the peroneal nerve permanent? Is there still hope for full recovery without surgery? When is it too late to do something about it? Thank you.

I understand your pain. I got drop foot when I was 23 & just graduated from PSU. I had a shoe obsession that had to go into hibernation since this injury not only changes your life but your sense of self. Shoe shopping is very difficult but thank the Almighty that flats have become amazingly fashionable (although sometimes an outfit only heels will make). Online shopping for shoes allows a larger variety but depending on your brace you porobably have to try them out.

Can a foot drop from back injury be distinguished from foot drop coming from the nervous system? My friend has foot drop and they did not run any tests because they "knew" it was from his weak back. But he also has a diet deficient in basically all vitamins (only eats super processed "food"), hasn't had any fresh food for 15 years and refuses vitamins. Also he takes statins and has side effects from those. How can they be sure the foot drop is from his back and not from beriberi or statin side effects?
