      @@willswitchcraft Thanks man! Yeah it was a massive undertaking that's for sure. Some of them took ages to edit, but honestly my pipeline wasn't ideal and I'll definitely be switching it up when I start filming the workflow guide. This video in particular took forever, especially to do the chapters lol. All I can say is it's nice to not be stressing about this series anymore. I think the workflow guide will be a lot more fun, but I'm still ironing out the kinks for pre-production at this stage. Kiiind of tempted to wait until I've got my OLED fitted, but not sure at this stage. Will wait and see. Either way, thanks for the kind words mate, I really appreciate it :)

Sooooo close to being able to do that, but we'll wait and see. Super excited about the OLED though. Looks very sexy haha

    Thank you so much for your Deluge tutorial videos, they've been very helpful to me!
    But maybe you can help me with this: I've been trying to use my Akai APC40 to control both the Deluge and the synths I have connected to the Deluge. Everything goes fine with controlling the Deluge parameters, but I can't map the external synths parameters using the Deluge's midi thru. Also, the APC40 seems to have some sort of pre-mapping for the other synths too, and apparently, I can't put it in a "blank" state. I tried everything and it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

      @RSKT_music  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks dude! To respond to your question, I'm afraid I'm not much help. I'm not too sure about that setup, but maybe the APC40 has specific midi channels setup for different things? I think you might get better help from the Deluge discord server, or r/synthesizers on reddit. Sorry I'm not much more help :/

    Howdy! Got a question for you related to MIDI learn. Say I've got MIDI note data learned on all 16 channels for MIDI input, and I've got another clip I want to control with a MIDI controller. Do you know if there is an "un-learn" (or maybe "forget") that can be used to let me control the next clip without triggering another one?

    This might seem like a really silly question. What if I had 4-5 pieces of outboard MIDI equipment? Can I use an external MIDI controller, to record into the Deluge that is simultaneously outputting to those 4-5+ MIDI devices, with the audio being summed back through a device with audio back into the deluge?

    Awesome.
    Thank you.
    I am sure I can figure out it, and I think I knew it for a little bit, but how do you know that you aren't telling lfo to modulate velocity, but rather you are modulating lfo rate with velocity?
    Does that make sense? I feel like I'm just drawing a blank and getting overwhelmed with some of it.
    Anyway, great midi video. I use the full size midi cables, which is cool. No need for a power adapter.

    • @RSKT_music
      @RSKT_music  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good Question! Basically when you modulate a parameter with a second parameter, the blinking lights on the grid let you know what is being modulated by the other. For example, let's say we modulate Frequency with LFO1. Frequency will blink slowly, letting us know what is being modulated, and LFO1 will blink quickly, letting us know what is doing the modulating. I hope that makes sense. With velocity, however, we are a bit limited. You can't actually select velocity to be modulated, as it's in the mod-source column. So in the example, we're only able to modulate the rate of LFO2 with the velocity mod source.
      Anyways, thanks for tuning in. I hope that helps :)

    • @XtianApi
      @XtianApi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RSKT_music ah okay, yes it does help.
      That's why I feel like I knew it, I guess because I saw the different rates of blink but never processed it.
      I'll mess with it tonight and see if I can trace existing patches on presets.
      Ps, so excited for the oled! Already have my pre-order for the retrofit.

    I know this is old but if you see this i could use a little help rskt. I followed your tutorial on using zoia with deluge but cannot hear audio when trying to use a sequencer. I see zoia getting midi i have stereo monitoring on but i am not hearing anything. I am running into interface then ableton. Tried using a midi track with ext instrument to no avail and not sure what else to do. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks man

    • @RSKT_music
      @RSKT_music  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey - That's really weird behavior. I guess the first thing to try would be to see if your picking up any sound from the Zoia from any other patch. If you are, then you can be assured it's the patch you're working on. If you can see it receiving midi notes, then you can rule the connectivity between the zoia and the deluge out. Next thing to try would be to check all of your connections on the Zoia's grid. If other patches are working, then chances are something is quite hooked up right in the patch you're using. Finally, check the audio monitoring in Ableton. Set the monitoring to IN and check to see if anything's happening.
      The only other thing I can think of doing to try and help you is if you wouldn't mind somehow sharing how your Zoia patch is set up. Is the midi triggering the pitch of the oscillator? Are you using a filter, envelope and VCA? Sorry if none of this helps, but let me know how you go :)

    • @joeymc5272
      @joeymc5272 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RSKT_music hey RSKT thanks so much for getting back to me. Its so weird because my monitoring for guitar works and other synths i just cant seem to get it to work with the zoia. Ill be honest i am completely green on the zoia and have only been able to make one synth patch following cukoos video. But i went through and set his up again and still could not get it to produce a signal.
      Would you mind telling me what your setup is in ableton by chance? Do you have a midi channel set up with midi from deluge? Say were using midi channel 1. Set channel to 1 in ableton midi track. Then on zoia set to midi channel 1 and thats that? Do i need an external instrument set up on thay midi track i presume? Sorry for all the questions here but your tutorials have been unmatched and you know these devices inside and out. Thank you for your time

    • @RSKT_music
      @RSKT_music  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My setup is fairly simple. When using the Zoia as a synth - Midi out of the Deluge and into the Zoia. Zoia audio output into the Deluge line input. Deluge audio output into my interface and monitored through an audio track in Ableton. When using the Zoia for effects - Deluge audio out into the Zoia audio in. Zoia audio out into my interface and monitored through an audio track in Ableton. I never really use the external instrument device, but I know that it is useful when trying to use the Zoia as an effects send in Ableton. I'm sorry if this doesn't help in any way. I highly recommend joining the Zoia facebook page (or better yet, the Zoia Discord server) and asking there. Those guys are wizards with the Zoia and should be able to help you get up and running in no time. Best of luck :)
