    I got the Guardian Designs steering wheel for mine and I agree that this mod is one of the best mods for the car. A lot of aesthetic mods are nice as well but you don't really see it when you're driving, but you always see the steering wheel and you're always touching it so it is way worth it to get a nice steering wheel for this car. I'm still looking to replace the shifter knob as well as the shifter and e-brake boots.

    • @Themazcorner
      @Themazcorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I fully agree! The tactile feel for me was a big improvement over the OEM-wheel it's just to thin in my personal opinion.
      I have been contemplating to switch out the shifter boot and e-brake boot but not sure if it will be to much alcantara.
      The 1st world problems....

    Looks amazing, on my heavily modified STI Subaru the DAMD wheel was the best mod I ever did.
    I should really do the same on my ND...

    Awesome video! I got a guardian designs wheel and used this as a walkthrough. I found turning the wheel much essier to get the airbag pins out. That way you can get a good angle. I always removed the airbag fuse for added saftey. Hardest part was taking out old trims to transfer them to the new wheel. Love your colour combo! Awesome setup!

      I always disconnect the battery when messing with the electric components to be on the safe side!

    Any reason your video skips over the exact part when you are putting the new wheel back on? I wanted to see how hard you had to push to get it on but the video skips over it. Having trouble getting mine on..

    • @Themazcorner
      @Themazcorner  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did not have any issues at all with that. No specific reaoson for why I did not show it! Are you sure the splines are lined up?
      It could be that the new wheels does not match up with your previous center hence you might have to shift it a bit and get an alignment done to have the steering centered.

    Like you, I feel the OEM wheel is too thin. Love the video but you are more brave than me dealing with the air bag. Where did you order the steering wheel?

    • @Themazcorner
      @Themazcorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the OEM wheel is way to thin. With regards to the airbag there should not be any worries if handled with care.
      I got the wheel from meinlenkrad.de

      It's just to be sure that no power is left in the system when working on the airbag

      Maybe you need to check those alignment numbers again. Also have a look at you tire pressures

    Hej! Tack för suveränt bra videos! Varför Meinlenkrad? Varför inte Guardiandesigns?

    • @Themazcorner
      @Themazcorner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Will take it in English if anyone else is wondering the same :)
      The main reasons I went this route was that I wanted to keep my OEM steering wheel as it has orange stitching.
      Also at the time when I ordered the price was lower from Meinlenkrad even when including a second steering wheel.
      Also the lead times were shorter at the time when I ordered, not sure what the lead times are now. But I think Meinlenkrad deliveries the wheel back within 1-2w if you send in your own wheel.
      One thing to consider with Guardian design is that you need to transfer over your buttons and wheel trim from your OEM wheel. Same for Meinlenkrad if you don't send them your wheel with the buttons and so already mounted

    Hi,
    I have two questions. What is the gear knob you use and where can I buy it. I hope they have a different colors. And as I see it’s an aftermarket wind deflector. Is it better holding the wind buffeting?
    Thank you in advance

    • @Themazcorner
      @Themazcorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi the knob is from Raceseng it a custom made, I have a video on it here. But they have many different options: th-cam.com/video/T9573fmHkRw/w-d-xo.html
      The wind deflector is from MX5 things, I think it is slightly better than the OEM one. But for me having a clear deflector is much nicer than the OEM one. I have a video on the blocker as well: th-cam.com/video/kY7Wa3RQq4k/w-d-xo.html

    So did you end up using a wheel puller? You just edited the hard part out.

    • @Themazcorner
      @Themazcorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No just wiggled(one hand at 12 and one at 6 and switched to 3 and 9 back and forth) did not take long time at all. Was actually the easiest part :)
      Also if my memory serves correct I did record how I did it

  • @qnoob

    Is yours with the default thickness or GT thickness?

    • @Themazcorner
      @Themazcorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wheel is from Meinlenkrad and I don't think they have any option called GT.
      The wheel is thinkened inwards so the outer diameter is the same:
      I have a video of the wheel itself:
