This was awesome. You can tell Bridget’s reaction when seeing the spatial videos of her kids was legit and she was speechless. I think we haven’t realized the future where you can literally relieve moments with loved ones in 3D. Imagine doing that with videos of someone who is no longer alive, it’s going to be insane
>imagine doing that< maybe we'll get used to them like we did with photography, audio recording, and video, but i feel like these "spatial videos" are going to be an emotionally intense experience, at least for a little while
Excellent illustration of the Vision Pro headset and of the practical issues related to Guest Mode sharing. Yeah, another person's makeup and sweat could be an issue. Sharing with friends and family might mean paying for additional accessories to customize their experience. Is this an issue with other headsets or do families just buy multiple devices?
Just going off of the fact that iPad doesn’t even have support for multiple accounts (although it definitely can!) - I didn’t have high hopes that this product would be a big change in that regard (it’s based on iPadOS anyway right?)
Yes, multiple accounts are definitely needed if they want to consider it spacial "computing". And the most needed thing is shared experiences. Currently, 2 people in the same room both having Vision Pros can't even look together at the same app to work on it together, as they could on a simple computer screen. They should be able to share apps/views, watch things together, walk together in the same environment... When I talk about it to people, the first thing they ask about is often this. Without it it is indeed a very isolating experience.
And of course, a functional (not just for power) USB port, for all the professionals who need USB to use it for their work. It's called the Vision "Pro", so USB is 100% needed.
I almost spit my coffee out when she said that... The Vision Pro is such a joke... It's like Apple is saying lets see how much we can get out of the fan boys since they will pay for anything with the Apple name...
@@scupking If for you it is already absurd and borders on ridiculous to pay an abusive amount, imagine here in Brazil that it is even worse, because in addition to the value being converted which rises to basically R$17,500 ("4.94" times more expensive), there is also the charge of +60% tax + additional store profit, it will probably get here for the trifle of +R$30,000, and amazingly, there will be people buying it (and here it is because of social status).

If I understand correctly the usability and visuals are excellent but the (dis)comfort (due to the weight, strap and external battery) is actually quite bad and that seams to be the dealbreaker. Do you agree? Because in my experience these are the 3 essential success factors of a headset: excellent usability, visuals and comfort. Seeing the reviews the discomfort will keep me from buying it (Apart from price).
I purchased the device, and used it a bit yesterday and so did my wife: 1. I absolutely love it, and she thoroughly enjoyed the immersive experience 2. My friend has it too and had it on for 4 hours straight (plugged in at some point), and he, my wife, and I are all in agreement that using it with the mesh band, it was NOT heavy, and was relatively comfortable. 3. Used Guest Mode for my wife, and it was easy. 4. Not sure why it is needed though, because every time you put it on it adjusts to your eye distance and has you adjust it properly on your head, so most of the time I skipped guest mode and passed it to her and she enjoyed it just fine - no effort! It adjusted to her eyes and head as noted above. 5. Finally, in Guest Mode or not, we had the perception that the eye tracking was not as precise for her. We surmised that all the device had was 5 minutes of eye tracking training (selecting lots of dots), so perhaps that part will not be as good for a “guest” who is not asked to do the training.
Looks impressive. It looks smooth but on the other hand all the stuff that she sees in those lenses reminds me of stuff I can already do and see in my MetaQuest 3. I'm not saying it's not impressive but I'm not spending $3,500 for an experience that I can probably get on my MetaQuest 3 which has all the games and all the apps for basically a 10th of the price so I'll sit this one out
The AVP is what we needed to take AR-VR mainstream... because apple sets the trends, apple moves and everyone else listens. Whether they deserve that or not, it's true. The quest 3 is the actual good buy, of course.
I dont understand why everyone expect it to be perfect. It's the 1st gen. Remember the 1st computer we got. It's as big as a room, and now it sits on our lap. Technology need time too.
It's pretty impressive technology but one big question remains: How long can you comfortably wear it without getting sweaty or getting a headache? From my personal experience with other VR's, one hour is the limit. So not seeing this as replacement to all day computing in front of traditional monitors. More for fun and social interaction.
I wear my quest 3 for 4-8 hours a day, every day, on stock accessories and the elite headstrap, with no issue. I think the AVP is rough due to being frontloaded, but... not really a worry, long term, about headsets.
I need to dive deeper! It was hard to tell with how fast I was moving around and I was pretty tired by then. I thought you needed a scan for that. It would be nice if Apple just let anyone use EyeSight as a guest... hmm.
I’m sad those Apple Store demos videos, Birthday 3D cake, Keys immersion, hot air balloon 180 are not built-into the units we buy. Are these available anywhere? Anyone?
I whent to the Apple Store in nyc on 5th avenue and I found out the biggest flaw in the Apple Vision Pro. If you have lazy eye you can only use it without contacts in. There no lenses you can pop in. If you do not get a headache after you taken off your glasses for a wile and your visions not blurry you still can’t use it. Since one eye move differently then the other the device can’t use eye tracking. Big miss so my daughter and wife can’t use it. Can’t even try it out. It just won’t work. They told me they have made it work with lots of disabilities even people with one eye. So this is a big miss.
Hi Bridget! Thanks for the video. When in “Guest mode”, do you get to log in with your Apple ID and get access to all your iCloud stuff (ie: Safari tabs, bookmarks, iMessage, Contacts, Mail, Notes, etc)? I saw you were showing your own photos, but wanted to confirm the rest.
No. Bridget had shared with / sent to Scoot photos she took and when enabling guest mode, he made the Photos App and Apple TV app available. The main account holder chooses what apps the guest can use. It's mainly a personal device and quite limited for sharing or family context. VisionOS is based off of iPadOS which is based off iOS and Apple still hasn't allowed sharing devices amongst family members. It's worked for them financially, but it's not a consumer friendly approach.
Why would anyone with myopia need prescription lens fittings while using Apple's Vision Pro headset? it doesn't make any sense. even with binoculars, anyone with myopia doesn't need glasses because they can adjust the focus. I guess the problem arises with far sighted people, but why would anyone with near sighted need the lenses. ?
@@raymort3 anything under 25 cm is finely visible by people with myopia, they can't see further than 25 cm objects.
