There it is! Interesting again to hear your evaluation. Also an inspiration to listen to more Soilwork (again) :)

Thanks dude. Yeah they're definitely a band where revisiting all their albums is so much easier as there's so much strong material

Cool video. I've done tier lists in the past. I haven't done one in a while. This is a band that I need to listen to more.

    Greetings, @The Green Man && @Everyone,
after a year and a half after your original Soilwork discography ranking, and seeing the most recent one
I have decided to update my ranking as well.
Firstly, Övergivenheten managed to caught me off guard. I thought I was ready, but soon I realized that I wasn't. Although I have listened to a title track and Nous Sommes La Guerre before the very album, the moment Electric Again kicked in I got blown away and emotional once the violin joined after the second chorus. And that was just a start of an emotional journey rivalled mostly by Ride Majestic and The Living Infinite itself!
There is NONE song on Övergivenheten that I dislike and though Nous Sommes La Guerre and I did not have the greatest start, after the ninth time listeing to Övergivenheten I feel it started to grow on me quite a bit. The similar thing applies to Death, I hear you calling.
I almost do not care about the album length, if I had to nitpick something it would be that the keyboard section after Voltures ended might have been a little too long and then the slowly building up Stormfågel came in and the flow of the album got maybe too slow, however that must have been what the band was going for and I think I understand their intention.
After the whole listen I think that the track that shocked me the most and the track that I listen every day since the album came out is The Harvest Spine. To my ears, this song could easily fit into Sworn To a Great Divide album. The opening reminds me so much of the opening riff to "I, Vermin". And I mentioned this because I never would have thought that Soilwork would write a song that would evoke that era so much to me. Similar things goes to opening of track Golgata that remind me of "Stalemate" from Stabbing The Drama.
The thing is that to me on one hand Övergivenheten went more progressive then Verkligheten and on the other hand it is, mostly on second half of the album, more aggresive, thrashy and more to the roots than Verkligheten and The Ride Majestic were. I love this contrast. Also Through Flaming Sheets of rain is far more impactful album closer than You Aquiver was on Verkligheten.
To sum it up - Soilwork did it again, they caught me by surprise. I can not claim that I have heard hunderts of metal bands, however Soilwork's melodic language, musicianship, music style and creativity is unlike any metal band that I have ever listened at least little to.
I am so much curious what direction Soilwork takes next, their discography is a hell of a ride, a ride majestic..
    My current 2022 tierlist:
S tier: The Panic Broadcast, The Living Infinite, Övergivenheten
A tier: The Natural Born Chaos, The Ride Majestic, The Predator's Portrait, Verkligheten
B tier: Figure Number Five, Stabbing The Drama
C tier: The Chainheart Machine, Sworn to a Great Divide
    D tier: Steelbath Suicide
PS: Thank you for reading this far :D

Thank you so much for coming back and your analysis of the new album! Lots of good observations. Nice tier list too. Yes it seems there's plenty of life left in the band yet. This new album shows there's still plenty of ideas left.

Interesting ranking. I don't agree with a lot but that's what makes it interesting. My favorite era is definitely the new one (The Living Infinite - Övergivenheten) but I do enjoy all of them. They don't have a bad album. I still have yet to properly listen to the first three though so we'll see.🤘🏻

S'all good. Thanks for stopping by. I looove the first three - but I guess it depends if you like their more brutal side.

I love this band ever since I saw them on ozzfest 2005. Not an easy band to rank.
