Thanks Tom, great overview. I will check this out. 🙏
Bro I just found your channel through a Pure wrath review, you're mad underrated! You definitely deserve more subscribers, love your reviewing style, tonight you've just earned yourself a new one, keep up the great work!❤
Portnoy strikes back
I need to check this one out.
Good album IMO
Ooh, thanks for the recommendation
You're welcome dude 😊
It is very different
Great ranking. I haven't listened to all of these except Nightwish. I listened to the first Epica album recently and I thought it was really good. I would probably have Dark Passion Play at number 1 because that is a masterpiece for me.
Thanks dude. Epica have a new album out on 11 April so looking forward to that
Great list, thanks Tom 💙
Thanks dude! Hope you enjoyed it 🤘
Demanufacture is one of those must listen if you like metal. It’s their Master Of Puppets, Rust In Piece. Absolutely classic
Couldn't agree more💯
Im a huge In Flames fan and a big DT one.. I think THE is just boring, this second album is a bit better in my book but nah, enjoyed both Endtime signals and Foregone way more. And those who compares this to like Colony, thats just a joke..
I sold my dvd’s they take too much space
Yeah I have that problem lol. In truth I could probably part with some of mine, but not my indie film collection
Some good stories. I filmed my top 5 with señorita 2 years ago
Cool, I'll check that out as can't remember if I watched that one
I did not know Hazzerd finally got a third album out. Glad I saw your video!
@@musicisajourney you're welcome. Hope you enjoy the album 🤘
@ I’ll order it next week along with the new Sacrifice album.
Cool review dude! Agree 100% as far as the "golden age" In Flames era is concerned. I might be a bit biased cause Whoracle kicked it all off for me, but IMO it's the time between The Jester Race and Clay Man when IF were at their best. As for the new THE album, it's good but that's it, no more no less. In a way it sounds a bit like a part 2 of the debut. Like they are playing it a bit too safe overall. If you take away the IF and DT fame, it's just another MDM record in my book. If you want kickass new Melo Death with a proper throwback feel I'd suggest Majesties, Thermality or This Ending. Btw Niclas Engelin also was in In Flames in 1997 and 1998 but I guess not long enough to be considered a permanent member. Still, to some extend he was part of the golden era ;)
@cloudcollector83 Thanks for that and the suggestions too 👍Much appreciated
Good ranking, similar to mine. excellent insight on every Maiden album. Here’s mine: 17. Virtual XI 16. The X Factor 15. The Final Frontier 14. No Prayer For the Dying 13. Senjutsu 12. The Book of Souls 11. A Matter of Life and Death 10. Brave New World 9. Fear of the Dark 8. Dance of Death 7. Killers 6. Iron Maiden 5. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 4. Somewhere In Time 3. Peace of Mind 2. Number of the Beast 1. Powerslave
I’m sensing you’re a fan of Soilwork
@@RockOfAllAges-81 yep how did you guess? 🤔😂

Lots of great picks - thanks! 🤘👍
The E P The warning and finally Rage for Order i hate operation sellout and emptypire they had s great Gothic progressive metal vibe and they sold out
Honestly, that's my favorite album by them. It's kind of hard to compare, but that was the perfect outro for the band. The endless river was a nice little encore also. Very underrated ❤
Great picks Green Man! Cool idea for a video too, I have been debating going back and redoing some of my favorites of specific years lists, as they have most definitely changed over time, even just within the last few years of constantly discovering new stuff.
Thanks dude! Yeah it's a fun exercise. As I know a lot of these very well it didn't take much time getting this list ready too 👍

Gotta be Tool here. Blackwater park would have been close, and as fantastic as fear of a blank planet is... lateralus feels more cohesive and is track for track just better.
Lateralus is my favourite Tool album - I approve !
how do i suggest albums to you and also what's your discord. my friend and i reveiw music, we prob have stuff you would like
Happy to take any album recommendations you have. Don't really do the discord thing tbh
@@thegreenman4925 .Thank you--i am curious how you'd reveiw favourite albums of mine----gabor lehotka's bach preludes and fugues 1988 th-cam.com/play/PLO-HxuPaexgVCAkmL3_pLd9b0GW8qQPr-.html&feature=shared, dragnet by the fall th-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_kUrmoXch2U3kdE4V3v2is6n6-R6uTMs2s.html&feature=shared, and holly wood by the voice squad th-cam.com/video/CkSKlisQxI4/w-d-xo.html. i'll stop at three for now but i can put more. @@kaneqangut That's cool that you enjoyed the new Fazerdaze review. I've quite a busy schedule and a move coming up (hopefully), so may not sort a review of any of these very quick, but will keep a note of them for the future
It is Leagues better than Access all Worlds,,, just a flowing narrative and emotional vocals,,, every song stands on its own with its own energy... The brothers guitar combo has really matured , and the solos are amazing... Easily the album of the year !!
I still need to check out this one. The third dimension has taken over 😂
Yeah it's really good. I think JC covered it in his new releases roundup too.
my top five would be: 1. Tales from the thousand lakes 2. Under the red cloud 3. Tuonela (they kind of experimented here, and I liked that) 4. Skyforger (at first it was too mainstream for me, but then i got a knack at it) 5. Elegy To be mentioned off album scales: Alone on Am Universum. Absolutely great song. Planetary misfortune and the add on tracks on far from the sun: Darkrooms, Dreams of the damned, follow me into the fire. Also in that context: river song, addon on Halo.
@malefactor3334 great top 5 👍
I will need to listen to this .
It's a beautiful album
@ some of the vocals reminded me of The Cranberries but shoegaze.
@@hectorThechilldudeonacouch yeah v true
Nice pick. While i did not enjoy vocals that much...the music is great => heavy Cocteau Twins influence for certain
Some of my recommendation to you from 2024: NEWMOON - "Temporary Light". The songs "Still", "Liminal People", "Through the Glass" will not leave you indifferent😊; YEAHRS - "Spiritual Sickness"; Asteroid Number 4 - " Several Shapes of Solar Flares"; The Fauns - "How Lost"
Its my favorite mastodon album
Great video man! Thanks for doing this. I know I'm gonna cop some hate for my list but here it is lol: 18. Joe Satriani (1995) 17. Time Machine (1993) 16. What Happens Next (2018) 15. Shapeshifting (2020) 14. Shockwave Supernova (2015) 13. Elephants of Mars (2022) 12. Engines of Creation (2000) 11. Crystal Planet (1998) 10. Strange Beautiful Music (2002) 9. @@bradydent91 nice! Not of this earth has its charm and some cool tunes 👍
The Hunter and The Sparrow are the best two on the album
@@jimmycann160 those are 2 great songs
Huge respect for not having Blood Incantation, unlike everyone else on the planet.
@@Accostation haha thanks dude. It was one of my honourable mentions instead because I still enjoyed it but knew it would be on a lot of lists
I been out of video games for almost a decade now
Yeah same with me
one of Floyd's masterpieces
Division Bell is great making love music. 🎶
Very good album I really think its a gothenburg master peice. To me its a best of all of swedens melodic death metal bands rolled into one super group.
Good review I thought they reminded me of evanescence as well
Thanks dude 🤘
Call me intrigued , I will check this out ASAP.
Cool. I didn't realise the singer of this band is also in a supergroup with Nicoletta Rosellini (who I interviewed for Symphonic Sundays last year) It's a small world! The supergroup are called The Erinyes so I'm going to check them out.
This sounds very interesting, I will check it out. Thanks Tom lad 👍
Happy listening @Simon-vt1zp
It is a very solid melodic death metal release. Great review Tom.
Thanks dude! Yeah solid at that. I went in with very high expectations though and probably should have kept them lower haha
