    I have officially just reached RUNNIN LIKE A CHAMP STATUS!!.Thanks so much for this video man, I really appreciate it. My only advice to anyone trying this for the first time....DO NOT LOOSEN THE 12mm TENSION BOLT ALL THE WAY. I did and had to spend about an hour trying to align it with the alternator body and other bolt in front. just loosen enough to swivel. Thanks again for the video and saving me money.....loved the guitar as well

    Thanks! I had to do this too. My belt looked just like yours and my corolla is at 201000 miles now :) same year too.

    That was fun. You're pleasant. I was hoping to see the pattern of the belt. Thanks!

    I like it, 200 plus K on that beast. I have a 1995 with 193K and are changing my starter today. Brakes, timing belt, and starter. All I have had to do. Well oil changes too but that's a given.

    So, I loosened both bolts, btw, top is 14mm, lower one is 12mm. How does one "shrink the space" to take the old belt off? Is it by loosening the lower bolt or you have to push the pulley housing?

      Honestly I can't remember if there was a tensioner or if the alternator provided the tension. I had to say goodbye to the Corolla but I still see it around town. I miss it.

    You don't have to loosen the top bolt on the Alternator to adjust belt tension or change belts. you just have loosen the tensioner on the bottom of the alternator hahahah

    Have you replaced the timing belt on this running like a champ engine?

  • @samvore2963
    @samvore2963  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have not replaced the timing belt.

      Sam Vore Sam Vore Sam Vore good job, careful not too over tighten. The fact you have that many miles on your timing belt is amazing, if you own that corolla still then you're way past borrowed time. The good thing, it's a non interference engine, which means nothing will be damaged if it breaks. The bad news, you'll be stranded

    I don't see where you showed anyone anything about how to replace a belt. You loosen two bolts on the alternator talk about how shredded the old belt is and cut to a running car with the new belt on the car. No help whatsoever.
