As a kid who loved star wars as much as I loved power rangers, this ship was basically like the millennium falcon of power rangers.
It’s so refreshing to see something new that isn’t Mighty Morphin
Exactly we know mmpr is what started it all but honestly I believe it's what's holding the franchise back
@@brysonreese3664 it’s exactly what’s been holding the show back. Hearing “it’s morphing time” and “go go power rangers” may have been cool to hear over a decade ago, but it’s gotten horribly stale. Not to mention the million incarnations of the Dino Megazord. 🙄
@@Thepoliwhirl2001 exactly unlike something like transformers where they embrace g1 while also adding new stuff from newer comics and series to keep it fresh and putting new spins on it something I hate to say power rangers since 2013 has been lacking especially megaforce and supermegaforce where it tried to be mmpr but failed in every way and instead of embracing the franchise like a anniversary series is supposed to be about!
It *looks* good, I like the metallic parts. But I'm surprised the *articulation* on Robot mode is so limited.... Articulation should have been a slam dunk on this one... since it's just mainly one giant piece instead of a combiner.
it feel they did a lazy job on articuation.
They should have consulted Takara Tomy... Or their old partner Bandai, to engineer them.
Here's the thing, it's part of a larger combiner with the Delta Megazord. So I can imagine why articulation took a backseat for the sake of stability at this size.
Articulation feels like something you'd expect from a cheap toy decades ago. It being a combiner is no excuse imo, we've seen transformers combiners with far better articulation.
I'm okay with the articulation; hopefully it means that Hasbro decides to make the Delta Megazord to combine with it. I'd imagine we'd need a structurally-sound Astro Megazord if it ended up being a combiner.
In any case, great review, definitely builds anticipation for the rest of us across the pond!
My thoughts exactly when they combine that things going to be huge probably not as big as combine wars devastator but still pretty big maybe even bigger but not as big as metroplex
I'm a transformers collector but I've been loving these guys, they mingle well with bigger robots of any kind, and fit into my collection perfectly.
I really want Hasbro to come out with Legacy Zeo and Turbo Zords.🤞
I passed on the Zap Dino Megazord however I am definitely going to get this. I'm glad that there isn't any major issues qc issues with this.
The ZAP Megazord and, Dragonzord were/are not worth the asking price but, THIS, is a $200+ toy, THIS, is what a premium Megazord should look like. Fantastic, zero complaints.
Among all the characters of the Power Rangers franchise Alpha 5 is one of my favorite characters as he could be considered the comedy relief of the team even though he is always there for them and is always reliable and a true friend.
Why didn’t you move the arms to the side under the shoulder block? It seems on then box and promo shots it can move its arms out.
In ship mode it doesn't fully close because there's a clip you need to flip out. It would have helped if the part hard been a different color to draw attention to it.
This guy feels like a Legacy AstroMegazord in a way. All those painted bits where stickers or a translucent red plastic in the case of the M for the original DX figure.
What I really the ZAP line needs are stands. So you can pose the figures without worrying about balance to much. ThreeZero includes Gundam like stands with their transformers.

When I heard about Hasbro doing their own version of the Astro Megazord, I was excited to hear about it. The detail is better than what I was expecting and it feels like you're getting that classic Megazord articulation that Bandai was always known for. What I'm hoping on is that the quality of the figure has improved since the release of the ZAP Megazord and Dragonzord. I'm definitely looking forward to getting my hands on this release. I'm really hoping that Hasbro is planning on releasing the Delta Megazord to go with the Astro Megazord. I'd be really happy if Hasbro can give us the Astro Delta Megazord because it was one of my favorite Megazord combinations of the original Saban era of Power Rangers.
It definitely feels better than the other 2 and don’t doubt we will get more! We are still gunna end up with the usual issues like missing hands ect which is a shame but hope they do more! I know white tigerzord was planned next

It is hasbro best work so far this thing look fabulous even if its pricey its still cheaper then buying the original 1998 version !!! They finally put wheel on it they should have put wheel first on the dino megazord lol
For me it was either this or haslab galactus 😂 you during the Timelapse you was definitely screaming and swearing when the transformation didn’t go your way 😂, I’m also fine with the lack of articulation but better detail throughout the zord! Good review mate I’ll get this soon I’m not in a rush to get atm!
Yea I can totally forgive the articulation based on the detail and size of this beast! 😂 I’d maybe wait til somewhere cheaper has it or it goes on sale but it’s a great item!
It’s looks great, but that price tag is wayyyyyy too much, especially if you live in the UK with all the prices rises on everything atm!

yes it lacks articulation , not good. dino megazord looks more articulated
I expected the articulation to be better but it is costing $200 where SoCs are now going past $300 range to $400 in some releases. So I guess I cannot complain about the pricing so much as the economy just collapsing. That on its own is another issue entirely.
SoC is an "out of stock" item, so not really fit to compare to an item which just got released. Rarity affects the price quite a lot.

Am I the only one who is not a fan of the aesthetic?
Imo Hasbro should have used the original toy as the base and improve on that, perhaps SoC style; rather than trying to recreate the suit in the show. It just looks so stocky.
There're also too much chrome on front arches of the megaship it's distracting, even the original prop only have bands of silver on the edges.
If we don't get a Zord Ascension Delta Megazord in the future I will be upset.

Looks nice but I find it cheaper and just as good quality wise to get the SMP model kits. No where near as big but better articulation and faster releases. But damn if this isn’t tempting anyways!
So how is the plastic quality compared to the previous zaps?
It seems a lot less breakable. Probably due to the thickness. It’s definitely a lot more stable 😂

If I may ask, I had two questions.
Just based on scale I see it’s bigger then the previous 2 ZAP releases. In its ship mode, how much space does it actually take up width and length wise?
Any good methods on how to keep these zords in clean and good condition? I currently have them displayed on a shelf and I’m trying to keep them pristine and dust free but a little anxious due to fragility on some aspects of them.
It would fit on a Detolf cabinet from IKEA. Also helps keep dust and stuff out but I use a little nail brush thing to dust stuff off with

Update! Mine finally came and absolutely like it. Still bothersome it doesn’t close all the way in the ship mode if the shuttle is inside.
This looks fantastic. I am very tempted to get this to display with my lightning collection PRIS figures. The only thing holding me back is the price and the fact that I only have so much shelf space left.

in order to close the nose of the bigger ship, expose the clips
if flametoys can have an astro zord modelkit . iam down it might be better than this astro megazord and less expensive.
The snap pegs on mine broke off within transforming 3 times. No QC.

I'm hoping to get this and the Megazord. I have the Dragonzord already. I'm glad to see a review of this. It's more impressive than the pictures show. Ha, the ship has visible fist syndrome ha ha. I hope the TItanus zord will get made.

i'm sure that thing was five hundred ($500) to seven hundred ($700) also they nned to do the delta megazord,mega winger and mega voyagers zords next and that is alot of money at one thousand plus ($1000+) when they ever do them and you get them.
It was only $165 on Hasbro Pulse, at least in the US.

I'm glad Hasbro redeemed the ZAP line with this Astro Megazord. It's not perfect but it's a huge step in the right direction compared to the ZAP Dino Megazord and Dragonzord.

I think this is the best ascension zord they’ve done to date the MMPR ones are not great or even an improvement to ones we’ve gotten in the past this is a definite pickup and improvement from the 90’s in space Megazord we got as kids! Great vid and review top shelf

honestly I was hyped when I first heard about, but then after watching reviews of the previous ZAPS, I wasn't impressed. Fast forward to the present and the past days and where I get to see the actual product thru some videos and I gotta say. I'm sold. The sheer size and nice amout chrome paint really makes it stand out above the previous ZAPS. I put in my preorder this Monday and now it's gon be delivered tomorrow on a Wednesday. Crazy.

I just cancelled mine, I was hoping for more articulation and a bit more finish (the screw holes on the back made me cringe.) That being said, I'm glad ZAP is gradually increasing the quality and hope others enjoy it!

Terrible review. Figure not transformed correctly. The wheels on the forearms are on the side, not the front. It gave me a heart attack because I thought I made a terrible mistake of ordering a figure that looked so Shanzai.
