Classic Lines, your probably gonna say I am nuts. I like Capri Tools, Sunex or Tekton. Young guys don't need tool debt. Great video.

Not nuts at all . All those tools are quality at a fantastic price point . Newer techs definitely do not need tool debt

You mentioned problems finding people, and people not having tools. I run a .gov heavy equipment shop, I have boxes full of tools, no one needs to buy anything, full medical, tons of vacations, sick and holiday time off. And I still can’t get good people !

3/4 impact, snap on coolant pressure tester, diamond crusted 1" locking flex neck tech angle torque wrench prototype..basics you forgot...lol, yeah good starter kit for sure. Good video. Don't forget to reiterate NO TOOL TRUCKS about 3600 more times tho, that I would add for real

I agree with the tool truck thing to a point biggest thing is make wise purchases and not to go overboard on it . Definitely need the diamond crusted tools I'm lacking on that I keep my ruby and emerald crusted ones locked up lol

Definitely need a retractable magnet 💪💪💪
Also wait to buy your "big" toolbox until you accumulate your tools. I used a 2 drawer roll cart, a sunex 6 drawer box and my Craftsman Versastack system for a while and then bought my big Matco box once I had all the tools I needed.

in the early 90's alot of shops would not let guys use the IR 231, they were bolt breakers, before they learned how to use an impact lol

If you have to peddle burgers for a month I would hustle to take whatever tool truck ratchet I could get in my area with me into a shop … fake it till you make it with the other stuff if it was me … you nailed it definitely with the old school air for sure … have to add buy used when you can with good quality … my experience, shops supply tire gauges and stuff … most shops or the one I’m in now has a that one guy left behind bin with stuff to mainly get the job done above the basics …

@classiclinesautomotive For 3 months doing transmission in school using everyday. We used one with vise grip and slide hammer so get parts out. Teacher goes those are good picks.

Note: the husky ypu and I bought ARE NOT the same quality they sell now. Just a fair point in my opinion.. Gooloo gt4000 (non "s" model) jumpbox..it outperforms my noco gbx155 4250a. all day. NOT my pre-covid gb150 4000a. That thing is a mobster, but my gooloo gt4000 is a monster and a perfect deal , 👌 Klein multimeter on buya.. no skip is bs, I have no skips cuz I'm a snob. But new techs don't need "NO skips"

Does one really need 6 point axle nut sockets? Or 12 point is just fine on every application or is there a time where you just gotta have the 6 point? I see a lot of guys have both.

    • @drew5992
      @drew5992 ปีที่แล้ว +1

More than likely you’ll use 6point but every now and then you’ll use a 12 point buy as you go especially when your starting off.

Awesome video and congrats! I personally would go with a tekton bundle set and get knipex pliers. In my opinion knipex pliers are just so much more superior and well made. I understand you would have to spend a little bit more but, I think in the end you would be buying less pliers.

Very much recommend tekton. 10% back in rewards. Their pry bars, screwdrivers, chisels, picks, hammers and some of the wrenches are USA made. Amazing warranty.

    • @classiclinesautomotive

I have not tried thier prybars yet maybe something to look into along with thier chisels . I have thier older ball peen hammers and I love them . They have a killer warranty which I love and how can you go wrong with the 10 percent back

Nice list. I don't have it, but would add the husky bit socket set. All your hex and torx for about $30. Also capri makes a great knock off of the wobble plus extensions

That's one of my favorite air impacts on the market. There's a lot better out there for sure but you can abuse a 231c forever without a problem

Another great video. This one definitely helped, because I was able to give my newphew allbof the tools you listed from the extras in my box, and from what I picked up for him. The only thing he's on his own for now is a tool box or cart. Hopefully he doesn't have to go into too much tool debt since I was able to give him a decent amount of tools

Can get a us general 5 drawer tool cart for 200-280 depending if they're on sale. That's what I started with. Can always buy 2 on sale for 400 and stack them
