Great video! I have about 275 glass insulators, my rarest is a clear " Castle" insulator, I to didn't know any one collected them until I seen a local article in the newspaper about a guy who had thousands of them.... I first noticed them as a kid as it sparkled in/with the sunlight. 😆
Simply astounding the # of insulators that Are to be found in some of these collections. Probably will run out of room B4 ever "finishing" a collecton.

my mom take me go to the railroad in Modesto California found the insulator at the Railroad the telephone pole was cut down no one was there a good free insulators off the telephone pole I'm 13 years old I am a collector goodbye have a nice day people
ruby red ones can be faked. ruby red was never really produced. what does it say on the front and the back? if i get that information i can confirm if its real or not. i would love to help,
I collect the high voltage types that are larger and more dish shaped. I have always wondered why they were made in so many different colours, there is literally a rainbow of shades they came in! Though the most common seems to be various shades of turquoise, green and blue, does anyone know why they are the most common, or what compound they actually put in the glass to make it that colour? The look beautiful when lit up from behind.
I am only 11 and I collect mainly railway insulators, just last night I found a rare Hemingray 12.

I have 45 of them and I am only a teenager I love looking for them
That's awesome! I'm a teen as well and love climbing the rotted telegraph poles along the bike trail trying to get them!

I love these things, I used to have 20 but picked a dozen more alongside the railroad today.

Iron impurity in the sand is what causes the bluish tint I believe.
I found some in my garage thats it have any value ?
it depends. some are worthless some are worth thousands. what color are they? what brand?
