Personally, I plow a ton of people with this gun, it's my Titan's main exotic for Crucible if I'm having a bad game with the meta melting me all the freakin' time...
Hell nah man I would still rather zhalo supercell or the vendor hakkons hatchet that has counterbalance, perfect balance, and rangefinder over Fabian even with the buff mentioned. This weapon sucks I use it occasionally and struggle with it every single time regardless of the map or play style. It's just in a bad spot and its hardly used because it sucks. Most of the people who play pvp use whatever gives them a advantage, bungie kills primaries and specials with literally nothing but nerfs, and the result is just a few weapon types of each primary weapon type and special are mainly used.
I love watching your videos. Ur the reason I got into weapons that were out of my comfort zone or meta. planc, hand cannons, defiance, fusion rifles and now Fabian strategy are all guns I enjoy using to keep the game fun and interesting. Thanks for making good and fun content!
It was the weapon drought man. I have so many regrets from that. My matador, hopscotch, messenger, my old dankbow, even my original devil you know, my first legendary that I ever got. I remember seeing a purple engram drop at like level 6 and had no idea what a devil you know even was. Sad times. Sad times.
+True Vanguard your game play footage of this gun and how you have to play Cat and Mouse with your enemies has inspired me to grind for this gun and use it in Crucible. Granted using this gun in direct head to head combat in Crucible is basically preforming Suicide I am willing to use gun not only in a Cat and Mouse type of way I will use it in head to head combat to really see if i can try to outgun people with it. I too have the affliction of needing to delve into the guns that get a bad rap. The insane gun variety is one of my favourite parts of the game! I don't think many of us would've bought it at all if Destiny was just limited to the handful of "meta" guns.

I quite like this gun, i got a sum of all tears last week with it. The high rof proc is good for mowing down shotgun rushers and using the high impact for long range engagements
to understand this gun's exotic perk, you need to understand that a faster rate of fire auto, when compared to another auto of a slower rate of fire, is designed to have a faster time to kill but be less effective at range. The fabian strategy tries to utilize this in its exotic perk so when you have a close range threat, it changes its archetype to adapts by sacrificing its effectiveness at range for a faster time to kill, and since the person is close youre not going to need the effectiveness at range.
Ace of Spades is a solid HC Tlaloc is a solid scout rifle(becomes one of the best guns when overflow is active) Fabian Strategy may be the worst exotic auto rifle from the 88 RoF category. Still love your videos TV.
The problem with it in PvE is that when the exotic perk procs, it becomes a fast AR with the mag and reserve capacity of a medium AR (btw: have they even fixed the reload glitch? The one where it sometimes gets 44 in the mag if you reload when Front Lines is on). Thus you'll run out of ammo really fast...
The gun isn't bad, I have had times I used it in Trials and downed a few opponents because of the Front Lines perk. Fabien without the perk active is a more unstable version of a palocontact, but With the perk, becomes a doctrine of passing. The one buff on this gun I would ask for is a magazine buff, as those 40 or 44 shots disappear very quickly in a close quarters fight. Great Video though and great to see others try out the gun.
@TrueVanguard, how would you pair this with the other two subclasses for Titans, though? I can't lie I really dislike that both of the exclusive weapons for the Titan are only playable with a single subclass. Both of the Hunter's are usable and playable for all three subclasses, and both of the Warlock's are incredible (some might say OP regarding Tlaloc), but the Titan's? They're just... lackluster and disappointing in general, much less when it seems like only one subclass can be played with them... I prefer Striker in PvP, or Sunbreaker, and I don't enjoy shotgunning at all... Any help?
I have an idea to bring this weapon up to par with Ace of Spades and Tlaloc. An additional thing to the front lines perk: Kills while front lines is active and while continuously firing (not letting go of the trigger) will refill the magazine. And if either front lines deactivates or you let go of the trigger, the ability won't active again until after you reload. Ace of Spades has its crowd control and Tlaloc has its increased dps, so making Fabian Strategy a close quarters beast would bring it in line with the other two. it wouldn't make it too op in pvp because it requires several enemies close together and close to you to be chain killed and at that point it's you against 2+ enemies. Thoughts?

It would be an unorthodox archtype of a weapon with it's exotic perk active, but it wouldn't ruin the overall balance of the game. Weapons like the Tlaloc, the Mida Multitool, Last Word are weapons that basicly are their own archtype but they don't completly ruin the game. They are popular, but not OP to the sky. Fabian Strategy should be just like that too. Unorthodox and risky, but paying off well for those who go up and close with a primary.
It's just the zarinaea D that becomes an arminius D when enemies are close. I like this gun, love the idea. IMO it just needs more stability since you need to land every shot if you want to win.
I think that if there's red on the radar, the perk should activate. (Same with surrounded/danger close.) As well make it like the Tlaloc and make it keep its damage when the RoF increases.
the issue i have with the gun the damage drop when front lines is active. Keep the gun always at bullet hose fire rate but instead increase damage when enemies are close. Standard body 12/headshot 15, front lines active 14/18, this would make the gun way more effective.
Gun should of had a perk that let's you tank more bullets or gives you some type of an over shield, something of that nature since it has a shield like thing on the barrel, if the theme is meant to outlast the opponent then that would of went perfect
I'll try it. I really love everything about the gun. but from its pve I never took it into the crucible. btw there's really good video about Fabian on the ExtraCredits channel in the Punic war episodes. you know plenty already but it's a fun video and has plenty of fun drawing and such.
True vanguard if see this comment please respond to it. I was playing trials of orisis the other week and this week and we managed to go 8 and 0. We Ended up not going flawless because both matches they had Midas and shotguns. It was super hard to encounter because if I was going to snipe one they would stager me with there mida. What should I do next time
I actually got a Soul Stealer's Claw with pretty good stability and the perfect balance perk. My other one bounces all over the place and is pretty much useless in crucible. Most of the time I prefer stability over longer range, the extra stability makes up for the range loss.
+True Vanguard Also, your not the only one who's attracted to bad weapons, a lot of my friends give me shit about using NLB in Trials but i happen to wreck with it. It also depends on the Trials map, how quick you can run, how much you know the in and outs with this weapon, how good you are able to preform the glitches with it like the relaoding glitch and so on. How much space on the map to use it, i find that being in a cramped area is not the best situation/area to use it in. (Granted using any sniper in a tight, cramped area isn't exactly easy but it is easier to snipe with most snipers except for NLB in a tight area) It also depends on the load out your running with it, I find that a sidearm works best with NLB. Shotgun? Eh, not so much. My friends also give me crap on using The 1st Curse in any type of Crucible because its "Too Slow" well ironically i am able to absolutely destroy people with it as well
It'd be nice if when aimed down scope you gain some damage reduction since it has a shield on it. something similar to guerrilla fighter or juggernaut. Not too strong but good enough to make it viable

Hi TV, what sensitivity do you play on? What would you recommend? I like a low sensitivity for sniping but it hopeless if I'm using a shotgun.
Its like the assault rifle in halo games past. The strategies required are identical. Not many could realize its potential it seems.
I remember the "retreat rifle" well, most of the time other players are impatient and will chase you will you simply gun them down while moving away.
The exotic perk actually works now? I remember a while back people tested it and saw no increase in rof or damage.

I like going defender with both the titan only weapons. FUN times. makes you think about what you are doing and what you weapon con do.
I wish it was better. I feel the other two classes got a better deal.

You should try Fabian strategy with imobius.
