    He attacked and left. Avoiding large scale conflict and conducting small fights. The way to fight this strategy is to not advance and fight fire with fire. Small attacks on smaller numbers.

      Both the Vietcong and Taliban use this strategy effectively against their overpowered enemies.

    The last lesson of comparing the strategy to making a podcast for the first time is a great motivation and in true Fabian spirit

    My favourite strategy is Fabian strategy, it was so effective that Hannibal could not hope to beat Rome in the long run.

      Naw Hannibal had a legit chance in beating Rome. Unfortunately, his leaders were cowards and that caused him and Carthage everything.

      @@2know1self He didn't have the siege equipment to attack Rome directly. In a long drawn-out war with Rome, you will eventually lose no matter how good your tactical skills are. The Roman armies consisted of well-equipped soldiers, not some barbarian scums. Even if your tactics were good, your men weren't as good as you. Eventually, you would lose men, especially high-quality soldiers, as you fought one Roman army after another. And every subsequent Roman army would bound to learn from your tactics (failure and defeat are powerful feedback systems) and fight better next time. Then you lost like how Hannibal lost to Scipio.

      You can actually see this happening in Ukraine right now. Despite Russia having much superior numbers and laying seige to cities, they lose ground quickly. Ukrainian forces are not engaging man-for-man, tank-for-tank; rather, they target supply lines, pick off individual tanks, disrupt movements, engage in ambushes, and stay mobile to disallow for Russian lockdown. It helps that the Russian military is, at best, "sloppy".

    You should seriously consider doing a shorter version of this style of content in the form of shorts, it could def get you the boost and recognition your content deserves! Keep up the Fabian tactics!

    Without sounding like a conspiracy theorist is Fabian connected to Fabian society

    • @GaryArndt
      @GaryArndt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      It was named after him. Their purpose was to advance socialism slowly and gradually. They were non-revolutionary.
      In their first pamphlet they said, "For the right moment you must wait, as Fabius did most patiently when warring against Hannibal, though many censured his delays; but when the time comes you must strike hard, as Fabius did, or your waiting will be in vain, and fruitless."

      @@getsmartquick Yeah that’s fine. I just meant why would it be a conspiracy theory to ask if the society was named after a Roman general. It either was named after him or it wasn’t. Don’t seem anything particularly controversial about that
