A master piece indeed had fallen in love with this right at the first sniff I took from a decant. Picked up 150ml, the price difference between 100 & 150 ml was very small.
Good review. Bringing your at first, but then, real world experience to it. I had a very similar experience over time. Went from total rejection to curiosity to tantalized to consistently returning to weekly/multiple times weekly wearing (have a not small collection). Strongly prefer DHI 2020 to previous iterations of it though.
Thank you & you are absolutely correct. I have a 2019 bottle also and the 2020 smells identical. I'm still curious to know what the original smelled like
@@RaffiDiranBassclef Not sure what they are selling in Australia but in the USA they changed DHI and titled it DHI 2020. Mainly, the iris is less in your face. It dances really well with the woods and ambrette. Its a little less sweet and more masculine. Slight but significant change that makes all the difference.

I just got this 32ml decant (from DecantX) along with about five others. I immediately fell in love with the fragrance and will hopefully be able to buy the full bottle for many years to come. New signature fragrance for me!

Intense is very Good fragrance , I need to try the perfume version yet , being more leathery and richer sounds good to me .

haha, exactly, but if it wasn't for lockdown i would have gone to my local dapertment store to trade it in for an older bottle as they had them in stock...but i guess i can't do that anymore given a third of it is gone 🤣🤣
So if I understand this correctly, Dior decided to merge DH and DHI to keep especially the latter so that iris lovers will still have their favorite note (including myself) and completely kill the original DH in favor of a new scent that would be a money grabber like Sauvage. One has to ask why not create a completely new fragrance, or rather a completely new name for a fragrance? The only answer that comes to mind is the power of the "homme" monicker that comes right after the word Dior. But then again they might have thrown the baby out with the bathwater by not keeping the original formulation of DH under the name Dior Homme Original or something like that. But I understand it would create confusion and people would be likely to gravitate towards the original formulation, just because of how nice the word "original" sounds. However, what we get now is far from not confusing so why worry about confusion? And why not create an entirely new perfume if all you do is run ads with celebrities or actors like with Sauvage to get the people to know about a new kid on the block? I am puzzled.
Davidoff did the same thing when it released "Cool Water Intense".
Cool Water Intense smells NOTHING like any of the "Cool Water" releases and it should have been its OWN fragrance.
It's more of a vintage "Zino" flanker than it is a "Cool Water" flanker with all that Amber.
this is probably really petty, but i refuse to buy 2020 DHI cause i dont like the new changes on the bottle design. welp.

The 2011 is the best reformulation they ever made for this masterpiece .. too bad they decided to ruin it in 2021

I do have a review of opium i've yet to film, but just FYI I picked up a backup bottle. Chemist warehouse has them for $60 atm
The EDP in the Blue bottle is the one to test, I managed to get decant of ebay, way better than the EDT.

My 2020 bottle sprayer is not like a mist like the old Dior Homme bottles or even the Sauvages.
i just tested all 3, the original Dior Homme has the nicer atomiser, but the difference is not that much
what's the closest one today to the discontinued "Parfum" version?
Parfum is not discontinued. Dior sells it in a new style of bottle in 100ml
how is the performance/sillage on this one? according to the channel "smells good", performance is strong, but sillage is weak.
performance was not too bad, sillage is a difficult one to measure because your nose gets used to the smell and you need someone else to tell you if you are leaving a scent trail so if someone hasn't done that then i take their comments on sillage with a big grain of salt. I went through a third of the bottle and sold it, it smells different to my older bottle which i like more. The formula numbers on the box are the same but the smell was different 🤷♂️
@@RaffiDiranBassclef thanks for the reply. I am about to receive my own bottle in the mail so i'm excited. FWIW, i recently tried spraying fragrance on my ankles when i'm at home. That gives me a better idea of how strong it performs than if i do it on my arms.

For me DHI 2020 is weaker and more woody in comparison of DHI 2011 which is really wonderful and much better scent and performance
You're right. I notice there is a different formula number on the 2020 batch compared to the previous batches in the old bottle style, so something has definitely changed
@@RaffiDiranBassclef Not something, there is a big unannounced changed by Dior. This is very weak water down and does not project well neither last. For me it is 30 minutes fragrance so why bother wasting money on this. Better to get Valentino Uomo Intense instead IMO. As far current Dior Homme line, I would stick with DHP & DH OG
@@kamranhaider77 Is it possible you got a fake one? If I spray my clothes, I’ll have to wash them so they’ll stop smelling like DHI. I recently sprayed it once on a paper strip and after one and a half weeks I can still smell it easily on the paper. On skin it projects like crazy and to me the scent starts getting even better after the 2 hour mark.

First reviewer I heard say you can dress this up or down, every review I seen on this people say suit and tie office scent, I'm like dame I can't wear this with some nice casual clothes? Lol
🤣🤣 I mean, I wouldn't wear it with a tanktop and flip flops, but yeah with a nice polo shirt and jeans it would still work fine. Don't listen to nobody except yourself at the end of the day is probably the best bet 👍
